Jelly, you keep stating people have never walked in your shoes... your absolutely right, HOWEVER, some of us have had much harder lives than you could POSSIBLY imagine! I used to make excuses for myself when people offered advice, they eventually gave up. YOU come here saying things, and ask for advice, and when we offer it you make excuses, I'm simply pointing out that you can't have it both ways.
You also state you just want to be happy... in life you have to decide wether situations are going to rule you, or are you going to learn to live life through each situation? YOu have your parents, even though you don't have a job. ME? No job, no parents to call on (both are deceased). I'm NOT saying that for sympathy, I'm pointing out that happiness doesn't come with being thin, it doesn't come with a job, it doesn't come with money, or things, or looks, it comes from within! I was a single parent, no one to talk with for 19 years, single handedly raising a child, fights with the ex (both verbal, physical, judicial), working two jobs, full time student to get better paying job (though not that great afterwards)..,yet, finding that I needed to CHOOSE this day to put a smile on my face, enjoy the small things in life like my son, the sun, the rain, the snow, the flowers, a kitty, whatever! Because once you get a job, I"m SURE there will be things you don't like, and your parents will ether ask you to help with rent or ask you to help with food.... You also stated you want an easy life... my dear, life is never easy... so the sooner you realize that, the better you'll be able to face whatever situation life throws at you!!!!!!!! My comment wasn't about your drinking soda, it was more about your overall posts and demeanor! |

I've never been a parent, but I have encountered verbal and physical abuse for many years when I was younger. I was also teased at school most everyday hence why I very rarely showed up and had to go to nightschool after awhile. I did eventually graduate school and after the ex broke up with me I used all my anger toward him and got my license. I guess I find that when I'm angry I get motivated, LOL. None of this compares to my Major Depression though. Back in my teens I was suicidal and a cutter. Since then I think I have changed alot because I'm not like that anymore - I just get depressed but I know when to control myself. I probably do have it easier in life, but then some simply aren't as strong as others in dealing with problems they have. I've never had positive influences in my life, and was always put down, so it's gonna take a long time to train my brain to think positive and to love myself. I really do appreciate that you guys want to help me, I do need to start helping myself because living a depressing life won't get me anywhere. |
So, the hamster seems to have an inner ear infection. That's a sentence I'm pretty sure I've never typed or uttered before in my life. We took her to a vet today. $50 and we have five little syringes of antibiotic to give her. Yes I realize I could buy ten hamsters for that amount. Parenthood makes you do strange things.

Schmoodle, I'm right there with my kitty today, spent 72 at the vet, but she got a clean bill of health outside of her upper respiratory infections (URI)... dr didn't describe any meds and said she should come out of it, which she's been much more active last night and today! I open the door and she starts purring! :). And the vet, who sees animals all day everyday, commented she's got a great disposition and I got a great kitten! :)

She sure is a cutie. I'm glad she's going to be allright. I'm a sucker for kittens. So how is Jade feeling about things?
|
Jade is excited when she remembers kitty is here, I've got kitty in bedroom yet for a few more days. She needs to get to trust me more, and to get better before I stress her with puppy. They've sniffed one another already, but just for about ten seconds all three times! :).

LOL, we do love our animals. I have like 10 cats that I have raised and are attached to unfortunately. My parents have around 10-15 of them too that they are attached to. Ya I know, too many cats, and we even have a cat that isn't ours that comes around looking for food, along with some racoons.. my mom would feed the whole neighborhood of harmless animals if she felt they were hungry.

Jelly, that is a lot of cats! I love cats, but there IS a limit on how much one can not only feed, but also love and get proper medical care for, especially when on limited budget!

Schmoo- I never thought you would find a ham vet....let alone find out it had an inner ear infection. I just cannot stop giggling at the time you referred to it as a ham vet.
Just got back from dinner with the in-laws. Made a stop at Target afterwards to pick up laundry and dishwasher detergent. Found a really great smelling pumpkin candle as well....mmmmm, I love the scents of fall. Have a great night everyone! |
