That's messed up, they didn't tell me that. Now I feel like making a doctor's appointment to see if I'm being internally screwed up from digestive tract complications.

Doctors don't tell people s***.

Yep, the doctor did say that usually the patients were a lot older than I was and also a lot fatter. I was 15 and thin. Still to this day do not know how I managed to get gallstones.

Anyway, enough of my rambling about my gallbladder or lack of one!
LORIANN, I am hoping everything turns out fine and that you will post ASAP to let us know if you are okay. Wish you the best. :D

So after spending over six hours in the ER, I came home non the wiser as to the cause of pain. They did a CT scan, and anyone familiar with those can vouch for the uncomfortableness of it. That ruled out appendicitis. So for six hours I was deprived of water! I didn't mind not eating, stil not hungry and all I ate all day was a salad at 1230...

There was a lot of blood in the urine, so the dr thinks either I burst a cist in the fall, or there might be some bruising internally, or a kidney stone.

Anyway, I'll tell ya more sometime tomorrow, I'm tired.

I too was one of those that went on a quick weight lose program, got gallstones from the rapid weight lose and then ended up having horrific (and anyone who has had one knows what I mean) gall bladder attacks for a year before my doctor took me seriously enough to do an ultrasound. I had my gall bladder removed. I will say that I rarely get hearburn or indigestion any more but I was also told you can still get stones even if it is removed! Yikes!

I don't think I am going to have to worry about losing weight too fast---lol--so I think I am safe there.

So sorry to hear what you went through but I (and others) have been there.

Take care.

 Hope you're feeling much better soon, Loriann, and learn more about what's wrong! :(

Hope you're feeling better too! The cist thing makes sense, esp. with the blood in the urine.

Take care of yourself, and give Jade a pat.

Hope everything is okay Loriann, keep us posted. :D :balloons:

murphmitch 08-28-2008 05:24 PM

So relieved that it's not something more serious and hoping you feel better soon!

Loriann7 08-29-2008 04:14 PM

OK, I thought I should of waited overnight before going in the other night, I only went due to the blood in urine and feeling light headed, and sick.

Two weeks ago I had all the symptoms of period (except bleeding) which is normal for PCOS and thats why I didn't think it was my TOM... cause it's not.

When I took the fall the night before the pain, I burst open a cyst! Thats why the sharp pain! The cramps didn't feel, don't feel, like pms cramps, but today I'm menstruating!

So, I racked up a HUGE er bill, for them to tell me "don't know"... to find out I was right in a burst cyst!

:(.

Mel - one can also have gallbladder issues due to a poor diet, not drinking enough water, etc.

A friend of ours is 27 and has HORRIBLE gallstones all the time because of his poor diet. Otherwise, he's thin and in rather good shape.

Also, a patient's responsibility should be to be informed about whatever procedure they have done. Google provides a wealth of information.

"Complications" might be something as minor as gas, bloating and minor cramping as well. It doesn't always signal something severe.

zeffryn 08-29-2008 04:32 PM

Geez, Lori. I hope you feel better..... :)

Loriann7 08-29-2008 07:25 PM

ok, back to the topic, not eating! (thanks for advice on pain and med attention)

OK, so I did my best today, how's this look (remember, still not hungry)

Breakfast... egg "muffin" with bacon, onion, grn pepper, and topped with cheese, v8

Snack, 1/4 string cheese (if that) wasn't hungry so was using to train Jade! :)

Lunch, small piece of meatloaf (mama w's), small side of string beans, milk

dinner small salad with tomato, handful of chick peas, mushrooms tomatoes, and a handful of cheese, with milk
