Good morning chicks and Matt!
Before I forget, Matt posted a picture of his new nephew at the end of the weekend thread ladies, in case you didn't see it. He is ADORABLE Matt!
Oh, now I see I'm not the only one to point this out.
Not much going on around here today. Work, the usual, but it's a gorgeous day and we'll make the best of it despite it being Monday!
Oh, I was bad last night. I got the munchies fierce. Good thing I have the weekly chocolate stashed at my parents house for just that reason. But I did find some mini-choc chips and ate some granola I had gotten for the kids. I think I'm gonna have to throw that away.
It's TOM Steph, don't let it stress you out! Take a scale vacation if you need to. lc, you will be glad when school starts right? Have you had the kids all summer?
Good morning Gonna with your skinny face! Don't you love how your eyes look bigger?
Enjoy your hike Twynn! Sounds like you really deserve a break.
Hello there in the woods Cyndi! My brother's family was near Bar Harbor all week. Have you seen them?
Hugs to you and DD this morning Autumnrose!
Good morning Belle! (whenever I write that I think of the scene from Beauty and the Beast where Belle is walking through the village and everyone is singing "bonjour" and saying good morning to Belle!).
Have a great outing cottage!
Yes, Loriann I do think you are crazy, but keep in mind I am not a dog-owner (don't hate me!).
Have a great day Ruth! Indi, happy birthday to Dad, and you behave now! Do as I say, not as I do!
Okay, I have a telecon in a few, but should be short and sweet today, as bossman is on travel.
Have a lovely day.
Yikes, major simulposting!
Good morning weezle, jen, and Jessie.
Happy Monday, Chickies and Roosters! This might be a quick one if students show up--it's the first day of school and while I don't expect anyone needing help with a paper just yet, they might come in to say, "Hi!"
I'm assuming you didn't do that planting in the kitchen...right, Cottage? What all are you doing with your kitchen? The peach trees sound amazing! How fun!
Loriann, we've had the same delimma...our Angel loooovves dogs and we think she'd be much happier with another puppy to hang with, but are afraid it'll be too much work (we have two bunnies too!). Some friends have said that two dogs means less work, and some say it means more...just depends on how the dogs get along and influence each other. I think you know best for your Jade. Glad you're adopting. Are you using www.petfinder.com? They are AWESOME! We've gotten three pets through them...but I have a strict rule with myself not to go on unless we definitely are looking for another, because I just can't help myself once I start looking!
about the butt sniffing, Ruth! I think you're right! What does a Japanese lilac look like?
Indigal, are you on Phase 1? Otherwise, maybe you can bring some WW pasta for the sauce so you don't feel deprived? And have some really delicious summer fruit for dessert? Here's some to help!
Lots of prayers for your little one, Autumn. I'm sure it'll go really well!
Hi, Belle and LC!
Matt, I haven't seen the adorable pic, yet, but :congrats: on being an uncle! I just became an Aunt in May and am loving it!
Yay for the face NSV, Gonna! Hope Fay stays away!
Good for you, Stephanie, for not stressing over the scale. It can be so confusing! Keep up the water and maybe add some good fiber? I find psyillium husk in a smoothie helps a lot, as do FiberChoice tablets. And exercise...if you move, it'll move, if you know what I mean!
Glad you got good sleep, Lisa!
Me:
Had a great weekend...several bike rides, sleep-ins, snuggles with DH and the puppy while watching movies or Olympics, and we even did some stuff around the house, hanging pictures and such. Back to work today. First day of school (community college) for our students, so it's really starting up. I'm joining a friend and her dog for a walk today, then we'll go back to her house and let our pups enjoy her fenced in yard. Should be fun for me and for Angel!
Have a beachy day!
Wow, Cyndi, you ARE dedicated! I LOVE Maine....have a blast!
Linda, I read that you had *painted* your plants! Man, I need to make sure I'm going slower here. Hope you have a good picnic! I can't wait to find my other bike pedal that's hiding in the garage somewhere so we can take some biking trips around here!
Ruth, how's your knee been? Hope you get your planting done!
Indi (I completely forget your name...started with a K?), good luck at the dinner tonight and happiest of birthdays to your dad!
Autumn, best of luck for your little one!
Hi, Belle!
Cyndi, sounds like you've got an action-packed relaxing day!!!
Twynn, glad you had a good scale day! That's a great way to start the week!
Good luck with your list, LC!
Gonna, so happy to hear you're loving the mirror! Keep up the good work!
Stephanie, good luck with the scale dilemma! Sounds like some good ol' hormones at work, if you ask me.
Lisa, your avatar is just gorgeous! Hope you have a productive day!!! Where are you going on vacation?
Good luck with Phase 1, Jenny!!! You'll do great!
Jessie, have you tried any prenatal yoga? I was a total convert after it COMPLETELY cured my heart burn with Kadyn's pregnancy. I'm sure your chiropractor will have great tips, too!
Schmoo, look at your ticker!!! You are AWESOME!
Laurie, have fun in the center! I hope you get some visitors.
We've had a good day so far. I'm in the middle of laundry, which is always fun! Avery's running around in a leotard (goodness knows why!), Kadyn is "reading" books, and Connor is doing his math. Or, rather, Connor is *supposed to be* doing his math. He was screaming through his schoolwork until he hit this snag. He completely understands it but isn't doing the work. I should probably get off the computer!
Or not.
Actually, I do have a lot of straightening up to do so I should go. Our third floor seems to be in a constant state of mess. I bought some Rubbermaids to try to get things together so I'm going to go attack that job.
Happy Mondaying!
Kara

Thanks Kara! Not going anywhere fancy, as Little Guy has school, but Labor Day Weekend I think we're going down south to visit with Tom's family. His grandma isn't doing very well, health-wise, so we need to get down there as much as possible. I'm just glad to have a break from work!!!!!!
Laurie, No, I don't work at home. I am a copy editor for a Christian publisher.
Kara, I haven't done prenatal yoga...although it sounds lovely. I am sure it couldn't hurt the back issues. I may have to check out a DVD from the library.
Good morning all!!! Happy Monday!
Cottage - Enjoy your time with the girls today, whatever activity might come.
Loriann - I think two dogs is good for the pups. Like Ruth said, their pack animals and really tend to do better when they can play with each other. I think it actually calms them down.
Ruth - Enjoy your productive day. I hope you're able to get everything done
Indigal - Have fun at your father's bday party. But BE GOOD!!!! This is not an excuse to go hog wild. You can do it!!!
Autumnrose - You're poor little one. I hope all goes well at the dentist.
Belle -
Cyndi - You're a little crazy posting from your tent. But I'm happy to "see" you! Have fun in Maine and be safe camping.
Twynnb - Enjoy your hike!
l/c - So glad that things are slowing down for you. I hope you're able to really focus on getting things done and settled today.
Gonnabe - Don't you just love it when you start noticing things on your body as a result of how we're eating. Enjoy that thin face!!!
Stephanie - Just be sure to get that water in. It will steady soon. And yeah, if need be, get rid of the scale for a while.
Weezle - Good to hear that you slept well last night. I know it's been a struggle in the recent past. Get through Monday.....it'll bring you one day closer to your vacation.
Jenskihere - Nice of you to join us on the chat! Good luck on your first day. I hope you planned smartly. Be sure to get your water and dairy in.
Jessie - I'm sure things will be fine at your work when you leave. You seem to be very responsible and understand why it's important to be on top of things. You're going to be a great mom!!!
Schmoodle - Hope your telecon is short. Doesn't sound like your munchies were too bad, but if the granola will get you, then Yes...throw it out!
Beachgal - What do you do at the Community college??? Have fun with the pups today.
Kara - Good luck getting things done today. May your organizing of the third floor be successful!
Theresa - Welcome to the chat!
ME - So we finally got around to seeing the Dark Knight yesterday. What an incredible movie! All of the actors were phenomenal but Heath Ledger was off the charts. It makes me angry that he's no longer with us. What a talent. Went to dinner last night at a great fish house, had grilled sturgeon, caramelized veggies (shallots, carrots, & snap peas), and summer grains. It was a FANTASTIC meal. Particularly because I HATE peas & carrots, but the veggies were cooked so well. I might actually try to replicate it. SO GOOD!
The scale was very kind this morning. I'm really going to try to be good this week before we head off to North Carolina for a long weekend vacation (when all bets are off). So the new number made me really pleased!!! Today the exterminator is coming by to make sure we are clear of critters so that the maintenance guy can come back and we can get a new dish washer. I've also got lots of errands to run, which includes buying new bras since I'm down to one.
Have a great Monday!
ENJOY!!!
I ended up working 13 hours yesterday so I didn't get much of anything done. We never even made it to church although we were dressed to go. At least someone came on at 11PM to take over for me.
I'm on vacation this week and need to get all the packing done today. I dropped Brian at day care so he can have fun with his friends and I've got a pool repairman coming today to flush out the blockage in the pipes. I really should have removed the tree sooner. I hope he can come as it's raining again.
Tomorrow morning we leave for San Antonio. At least I finally confirmed that the school supply sale is Saturday as well as Friday so I can get his stuff when we get back. One more week until school starts!
Hcmacneil; whenever you want a weather report I'm ready. Are you going to the Outer Banks or something, or the mountains? NC is so boring to me that I can't think of much other places someone would go. When we first moved here from NY, we took a long trip to the mountains and that was crazy-fun. There is also a odd place my BF was just telling me about called "harker's island" where the people are strange... they talk just like pirates, fishing is their life, and they're pretty much isolated from the modern civilization, I guess is the best way to put it. BF claims they make all their own clothes and stuff. There's some cool stuff in some of the big cities too.
GONNABE165 you have a great face btw.
Hi Theresa, where are you from?
Matt: adorable little baby!
Me: I was stuck in that church all day yesterday, despite really not wanting to go at all, we talked to the pastor and showed him the court papers and he said that it seemed to him that bf's mom doesn't really have a strong enough case against them, and that it just seems like she's just saying all that stuff just to keep her. What's even better is that he is friends with and influential towards some judges.
Great news: Bf's friend was gonna try his best to give him a loan for $2500... he was supposed to go to Mt Olive to work a big job in a couple of weeks and then hook my BF up. BF didn't wanna go all the way to Mt Olive on a weekend since he has me and the baby at home (and I questioned his friend's true intentions) so that is why his friend was going alone. Yesterday I swallowed my paranoia and told BF, "well, why don't you just go with him to Mt Olive and make your money to pay for the lawyer... that way it's fair and clean and you don't have to be burdened with owing somebody something. Making your money is the best way to go... and you need it." So he agreed and went to his buddy's house and talked to him, and then came home, and suprise surprise! The buddy really never had any shady motivations for wanting my BF to come with him on the weekend, he told my BF, "you can only go if Melanie and the baby come along, and I'll get them a motel room." Well that is more comfortable for me AND bf AND the buddy, because then I can't accuse BF of stuff, and BF doesn't have to worry that when he comes home he will be accused of stuff, and the buddy doesn't have to worry about being accused of trying to influence my BF into doing wrong. So it works for all of us... Although I was planning on having a get together with friends.

Theresa, it will slow down your metabolism which is never good. I think on ph 1 you're supposed to have breakfast, a snack, lunch, snack, dinner... and then I think another snack or dessert. Not actually quite sure. But I generally have another snack or a SF dessert after dinner. Don't quote me on this. Somebody such as Ladybugnessa will definitely know the answer (she is a wealth of information).
