Default Monday Chirpings

Monday, my least favorite day of the week. At least this is the last full week of vacation for most of the kids around here before school starts. We had a very productive day yesterday, and the kitchen is starting to really look great! It's amazing how much I can accomplish when the kids aren't here. I even finally had time to plant two new hibiscus and some petite peach trees that had been languishing in their pots most of the summer.

I don't know what today will bring, but it's going to be a beautiful day so I plan on some outside activities. Perhaps a bike ride and picnic.

How's everyone doing today?

Morning Cottage, it's always good to get a few things done around the house that has been setting.... I know it'll finally feel good once I get the desk that I haven't touched in three years refinished! (Iknow, I'm bad.)

OK, Saturday I had answered an ad for a purebred chocolate lab that needed a new home. MY sis came over from out of town and we went to pick up Biko. Well, Biko liked Jade a little too much, and I felt he was just too big, so ds took her home with her. Her three children are loving him. This dog is HUGE. Looks more like Mastiff to me, the size of his head and body. But upon more research last night I came across an AKC registered dog just as big. I've NEVER seen a lab this big!

Well, last night I found another black lab up for adoption. I'm going to go meet him tonight. He's almost two hours away from me, but he's 7 mos old, akc papered and utd on shots!

Am I crazy to bring another dog home? Jade is a great companion, but I thought another dog might be good for her.

Good morning, Cottage. You sound pretty perky - getting things done does that. Thanks for the tree planting reminder - I have a Japanese lilac languishing in its pot since June!

It's supposed to be hot and humid with T-storms today. I plan to do some outside work this morning, turn on the AC and work inside this afternoon. I do have to pick up prescriptions and return some big coffee urns but after that, the day is mine - unless the cousins show up. (Gotta make a pie or two for the freezer!)

Did you folks see Matt's post late yesterday? What an adorable baby he's holding.

Hope your Monday is productive.

Loriann, if the lab and Jade get along, why not? The best gift you can give your dog is another canine companion. They are pack animals and, although they love us, need one of their own because we don't quite cut it. (I think it has to do with butt sniffing! )

Just a flyby for me. My youngest is getting sedated this morning for some dental work. She was born without enamel on her teeth so they will be capping them with white caps. Hopefully that will do the trick and there will be no more problems. It's just hard to put them under when they are so little and as a mommy I can't help but think of all the things that can go wrong.... anyway, have a great day everyone! Off to the hospital...

Morning Cottage and Loriann,

A bike ride and a picnic sounds great!

The more dogs the better! I'm a huge dog lover.

Have a great Monday.

I'm doing the usual, writing and running errands.

How's Hershey doing this morning, Ruth? I hope her skin problems are looking better.

Loriann I think Jade would love to have a buddy to keep her from getting lonely when you go back to work. I hope you find the perfect friend for her and you!

indigal, Happy Birthday to your dad!

AutumnRose, I hope the dental procedure goes well, and quickly! I'm sure she's in good hands, try not to worry.

Belle Mer, I hope you have a productive day of writing. I'm also keeping my fingers crossed that Fay doesn't pay you visit. Stay safe!

Matt, congratulations on being an uncle! The baby is just precious!

Morning all! How many people post from their tent?! Dedicated or insane, that's the question I need to get motivated to make coffee. I miss my coffee maker with the timer! Breakfast will be egg muffins and whole wheat bread from the bakery store near here. Then it's off to watch birds, ride bikes, and generally enjoy Maine while avoiding crowds.

Cottage - Enjoy your outside day

Loriann - Good luck with the puppy!

Ruth - Any cousins show up yet??

Autumn - here's to a fast procedure and all coming out as hoped for.

everyone. I need to get moving now. Have a good day!

Good morning! You ladies are up and going WAAAYYYY to early!!

Autumn - hope your daughter does okay!

Otherwise, I'm skippin' the personals today.

Me - short day at work, then off to go hiking with a friend! I feel guilty not working out this weekend, but between the on-call and the cold, I'm wiped out! That's okay, cuz the scale was kind to me!

Hope you have a great day!

Good morning! My butt seems to be dragging this morning.

Cottage hope you find something great to do outdoors today, it is supposed to warm back up here by the end of the week.
Loriann your not crazy for wanting another dog.
Ruth hope your day stays a "you" day.
indi sending you some
Autumn sending good vibes your way for the dentist today
belle may the words flow freely from your fingers today
Cyndi Hope you are having a great time camping.
Twynn Enjoy the hike!

My body is playing evil tricks on me and I can't put my finger on what is wrong. Scales are all over the place from a high of 115.8 last week down to 112 Friday when TOM arrived and now up to 116 today. Things aren't "moving" very well either. So today is going to be water filled. Time to do some tinkering with my food combos again and perhaps put that darn scale away for awhile! I'm not going to stress over it, just need to figure out what up before it gets out of control.

Hope you all have a great day!

Morning girls and Matt!

Oh my gosh, I slept like a ROCK last night. Tommy and I were watching Boston Legal on DVD (we just love that show) and before I knew it, I was unconscious. He woke me up at the end of an episode. I don't even remember closing my eyes.

Then we got in our spots and all snuggled up and it was warm in there so we just had the sheet on us with the comforter at the end of the bed. I fell asleep like that on my right side and woke up this morning, FREEZING, in the same position. Guess I was out all night. I feel fantastic this morning though!

Monday is my least favorite day of the week too. I hate having to go back to work. I'm so excited about my vacation starting the 29th!

Well, time to get moving. Hope all you girls and Matt have a good day!

I just started thinking last week about how I have a maximum of 11 weeks left at work before maternity leave...crazy! I have so much to do!! I am trying to keep things neat and filed in case something would happen and I'd have to go early or on bedrest. I wouldn't want someone to have to dig through my desk...I am usually a huge mess.

It's 8 and my back is already burning...it hurts all the time now. I've really only had one or two bad "side effects" from the pregnancy but this one is extremely painful. I go to the chiro at 9:30 if I don't shrivel up and cry before then!!

The weekend was good. I was totally exhausted on Friday night after working and volunteering and went to bed at 8. Took naps both weekend days too. Had major cooking projects on Saturday and supper club Sat night.

Here's to trying to be cheerful this Monday morning.
