It's a rainy morning here, hope it gets it out of its system before tomorrow. Our plans are totally up in the air as I can't seem to get the in-laws to commit to anything!

Things were all quiet on the home front lastnight thank goodness. Hopefully that holds true for the long weekend.

Cat your pictures are great, how I wish I was there to dig my toes in the sand too!

Looks to be quiet here at work today, the phone has yet to ring, must be everyone is getting an early jump on the holiday. Crossing my fingers for an early leave!

Have a great day ladies!

Morning Ladies!!! Happy Thursday!
Cottage - I hope Audry is feeling better so you can be productive today.

Ruth - Have fun sorting stuff for the fair. I LOVE looking at the kid's art work when we go to the fair. I'm always amazed at how much talent little-ones possess. And good luck cleaning Disney's teeth, that's not a fun chore at all!

tk - Hope things get better today. When do you head for Vegas? Just keep in mind how you want to look while you're there

Cydni - What exactly do you do? I think it's a non-profit, and I know you work with families....but that's about it. I'm just curious. Have a good half day!

Twynnb - Hope your day gets better. Starting with a child who peed in bed is not a great way to start. I hope it looks up after cleaning.

Nat's mom - Have fun getting the BBQ ready. And work hard to stay on program!

Pearlrose - Have a good weekend!

Indigal - I hope your friend is better. That had to be a scary experience.

Cat - You are so talented with your camera. Have fun tonight at your concert. The lineup sounds like a lot of fun.

Gonnabe - Have a great time this weekend, you sound so busy! The bday dinner....is that for you? Enjoy the new furniture and time with dh.

Nessa - I'm preparing the flogging pole as we speak Seriously, though...how did the interview go yesterday??? Have fun at the market tonight!

Steph - Glad to hear things were better last night. I hope it'll be a continuing trend. Hang in there!

Me - Short day at work, which is great! Tonight I'm going shopping for tomorrow's food. I plan on taking to the BBQ tomorrow a Southwest Confetti Salad (found the recipe in Cooking Light), a chocolate/peanut butter cake (recipe found here), and a giant vat of my famous guacamole. I may also pick up some WW pita chips so I can eat some of the guac. Tomorrow should be a good/lazy day. It'll be nice to sleep in with my dh around. Have a fantastic Thursday, Ladies!!!
ENJOY!!

Smile

Morning everyone,

I have finally settled in here at my new remote location for both work and living. I flew into Mpls. Saturday night. I have had an average of 5 hours a sleep each night since then so first thing I hope to do this coming weekend is catch up on some sleep.

I have been losing weight, although the scales is different than mine at home, but it is more a result of not feeling hungry because of the heat and nerves. It has been an emotionally exhausting year so far. I began the process of cleaning my parents' house. First order of the day was cleaning out a refrigerator that hadn't been touched in six months! It sparkles now and it is South Beach friendly. I told my Dad to eat anything from the refrigerator---and I feel good that it is all good for him and me (he had been losing weight too from not taking care of himself)

My Dad's is so-so health and Mom is in a nursing home after a six month dance with death--she's won so far.
She said to us on Sunday that she was not ready to die. I admire her tenacity to perservere. A lesson for me regarding losing all of this weight. Perservere.

I always remembered my Mom being so pudgy growing up and now she is so gaunt. However, her appetite is coming back! She had mashed potatoes and lemon meringue pie last night for supper. Can you imagine? Definitely not the Beach but her diet is basically geared to putting weight back on. Don't we all wish we had that problem!

I am going to "The Happening" tonight with my sister, we are having a cookout with my nephew tomorrow and see the fireworks, we'll visit Mom this weekend (about 45 minutes drive one way) and then I will mow Dad's lawn and my sister's (if she will let me). Who needs a stairmaster when I have been climbing stairs all week! I may not return home thinner but I will have lost inches. My thighs muscles really hurt so that means they needed the "workout", right?

Have a great and safe 4th everyone!

If it makes you feel better, Nessa. DH got screwed over on his job, apparently they had offered it to someone else before they offered it to him....they both accepted at the same time...other person won.

The dean at the school said that he was overqualified and would probably leave the school anyway within a few years.

Now, he wants to try his hand at law school.

Talk about oy.

thanks you guys for the comments on my avatar. Ladybug-I better get my butt in gear, you're catching up to me. It will feel awesome when you get out of the 200's. I was ecstatic about it. I was constantly taking pics of myself when I did. Now I need to get out of this slump and start working my butt off again. I leave for vegas in 13 days. Woo Hoo!!!
