Hey, girls, I'm downloading pictures from my camera into my computer, and just can't resist sharing this shot of Carley with you all. She was "helping" me make chocolate covered strawberries yesterday, and had to sample the "fruits of her labor".
[QUOTE=cottagebythesea;1765906]Hey, girls, I'm downloading pictures from my camera into my computer [QUOTE]
OMG..is she just adorable or what??? Want to kiss those choclatey cheeks!! (and not to just get the chocolate!)..she is just precious! Makes me miss my little girl!
Nothing happening here today...just busy working and have to go to the grocery store in a bit. My husband is working very strange hours for the next couple of weeks, so have to adjust our eating schedule to accomodate that..
Cottage - that picture is too cute! Look at those eyes!! We all need to smear chocolate around our faces more often - kids know how to really enjoy it!
Up early this morning to head to the physical therapist for my back. I've been doing stretches he gave me to do all weekend. Cross your fingers for me that his treatments will finally do the trick.
I have some yummy tabouleh, hummus and vegetables packed for lunch today. They're leftovers from dinner last night at pita jungle. There is nothing quite like homemade hummus - storebought is not even close. I can't wait for lunchtime.
The heat is on! Another hot & humid one today in Illinois. I'm working nights this week, DH is on days so the house is quiet. Just the crazy dog who can't decide if she wants to be in or out....or just make me get up and open the door every 5 minutes.
Lots to do before the long drive to work, so I'd better scoot. Have a great day everyone!
Okay, back with some time to post. I had to run a girlfriend's daughter to summer school in addition to feeding the crew. DH is home today, so it is wonderful to have an extra set of hands.
Cottage She is gorgeous!! I am so partial to those cute little girlies.
Weezle Yeah for you on the 2 lb loss. How was the BBQ last night?
Kara Have not forgotten at all. I actually took a test yesterday and it was negative. Now, keep in mind that I haven't even skipped my period yet, so I don't know if it would have turned up positive if I am. My first daughter was not planned and is the absolute greatest blessing that has ever been bestowed upon us, so I know that whatever happens, happens!!
LC Awesome to get yourself back on track so quickly. I am taking my measurements at my mom's today, so will be adding those to your sticky. I am actually a bit nervous.......
Ruth, Schmoodle, Jessie, and Sarynit Have a great day!!!
Me- DH is off, and I am babysitting the neighbor today. We are going to head out to go swimming here is a little while. I thought we would do that this morning. I am going to pack some sandwiches and stuff, so we will have a little picnic at the pool. Then home for Meg's nap- I have some computer work to do and DH wants to go fishing, so a quiet afternoon.
Groceries are slim pickings around here for dinner, so I will need to get creative.
Afternoon chicks, lunch is over, had a healthy yummy one, staying away from the bad carbs is going good, the older kids are watching a movie and the baby is sleeping. We will be heading to the beach once his nap is over. Just need to get the dishes done.
Cottage that wee one is beautiful, when I see cute little girls it makes me want another one, although that is not going to happen but one can always dream, I hope when my girls make me a grandma ( a long time from now mind you ) that they make me little girls.
Kiko- Do you want to have another? I am not sure which way to cross my fingers for you. And I am not sure if you have to miss your period before you would get a true reading. I do know that you can have a false negitive but not a false positive. Take care and have fun at the pool.
Well off to the dishes and change into my shorts and tank to head to the beach.
Cottage, what a gorgeous girly! I don't think I could ever say no to a sweet face like that!
Weezle, missed you on weekend chat yesterday with my packing...my doxie furbaby is named "Dash" and he's a red double-dapple with crazy blue eyes! I'd love to have a house full of dachshunds, just like that phone commerical ("stampede!").
By the way, I was eating at the local Irish pub (O'Toole's) yesterday and I thought of you having your potatoes! My boyfriend plays rugby for Richmond, and O'Toole's is a sponsor so we're in there quite a bit.
LC I honestly have very mixed emotions about it. Most of my reasons for not wanting another child are financial. I know that so many people say, "Well, you can never afford it." But we really can't. Also the fact that I work outside of the home makes it even harder. So, the rational side of me says no, but the mom in me would love another. Doesn't really answer your question, does it?? When I went to buy a test there were several that stated that it could detect pregnancy up to five days before your missed period. We will see, I will wait until the end of the week to take another if I don't start.
Something wierd is going on here, I've suddenly got a real bad attitude about all this. I'm under a lot of stress right now, working full time, single parenting, and entertaining house guest. It's hot, and I suddenly have no appetite. I'm forcing myself to eat and not getting enough calories. I realize today that I'm feeling really negative about the whole SBD thing. I was thinking maybe I should stay off the forum for a few days, since I'm so sour and didn't want to spread it around. Then I had a dangerous encounter with a doughnut this morning. Is it normal to hit this wall at six weeks in? I just feel like something might give any time now. I guess I realized fat girl is still inside here, biding her time, waiting for my guard to be down, like this morning with the doughnut. Sorry for the downer.
Cottage, she is a sweetie, and she really wants me to have some of that chocolate strawberry!
Jessie, I'm not super close but it's worth the drive. I'm 40 miles west of the DC beltway in MD. My parents used to love to pack a picnic and take us up there for concerts when I was a kid. I haven't been out there in a long time.
Kiko, the BBQ went well! I had my fake burger on a whole wheat bun with onions and peppers on top, some veggies, a salad, some bruschetta with Triscuits, and a slice of my WW Key Lime Pie. All-in-all, a great evening (and tons of fiber, so sayeth my gut.) I will definitely continue to pray for you with your situation.
Betty, Oscar and Sophie are dappled.... sophie has more red with dark brown and black, with a little white chin and white spot on her chest, and Oscar is mostly dark brown/black with blonde. Dash is such a cute name! Oscar and Sophie had siblings with blue eyes but my parents couldn't turn those two down, and just couldn't afford 10 of them, although I think if they could afford it, they'd adopt every weenie from here to Germany. O'Toole's sounds like a nice place, like our D'Arcy's! They always laugh at me because I order a potato entree and then a side of mashed potatoes. Oh well, it's no secret that I'm Irish!
Getting ready for a conference call here today. Just thought I'd drop in and see how all are doing! Gotta run! Talk soon girlies.
Getting ready to play 3 game of volleyball. There are only 2 women playing so there will be no rotating out for me tonight. Hopefully I will burn some good calories off. Afterall, I did indulge this weekend with a few bites of peanut butter chocolate chip cookie dough cheese cake and bourbon walnut pie (only a few bites). I definitely enjoyed a few glasses of wine that's for sure.
I wish I had time to say hi to everyone individually, but I must run. So hi to everyone. Hope to get more time tomorrow to post.
Sary, you are so right. Homemade hummus is the best! Good luck with PT!
Schmoodle STAY ON THE FORUM! You probably didn't even notice, but I had a little backslide a couple days ago, started about a week and a half ago, and when I stayed away from you all it got worse because I started rationalizing things in my brain that shouldn't have been rationalized. I think I said something like it was as if I was on top of Mt. Everest without oxygen and was losing my mind. "Oh, one little indulgence won't hurt. If one wasn't bad, then two would be fine..." You get the picture. DON'T LEAVE! We need you and you need us! It's all about accountability, and if you can't muster it within yourself right now, then lean on us!!!
Barbara, hope your gym time went well.
I woke up this morning to a three pound WOOSH! That's a pleasant way to start the day, especially since I was feeling frustrated yesterday!
