Good morning chicks, Ruth and Barb I see you to are as busy as ever. Somethings never change.
Thanks for the welcome Cottage, I am going to start back after the new year. As soon as my life becomes a little normal again. If that is ever possible. Well I must dash need to head out to the store. You chicks take care.
For those who have lost count, only 23 days left until Key West.
Still holding steady at 127.... maybe if I exercised or something I could get over the hump, but that takes too much time and effort during the holiday season.
Today is my day off, and I need to run movies back to the store, wrap presents, bake cookies, meet with my friend who is home from the Air Force, and teach piano.
OK, well the cookies are baked (I only ate one because it was a new recipe and I didn't want to feed my friends and family crap) and in their tins, my presents are wrapped, and my friend Mark is picking me up shortly! I'm so excited!
You girls sure must have very productive days. I'm the loser, checking in all day long and nobody's said anything. Hope everyone's well and getting things accomplished!
While I was in the shower this morning I realized that I forgot to send little Carley a birthday card, and she turns 2 tomorrow! So I dashed over to the store with wet hair to pick out a card for her and dropped it off at the post office. We celebrated her birthday last Sunday, but I still wanted to send her a card for her actual birthday. Anyway, while I was out I grabbed a coffee at Wawa, so now I'm set.
I want to drop off a basket of cookies for my Mom & Dad before I take Maggie to school this morning. She's having a pajama party at school today, so she gets to go in her PJ's, and they're going to have pancakes for their snack. Sounds like fun! I don't know what the rest of the day will be like, but Cindy promised to be home by 2 or 3 so I can leave early, and then Jake and I are going to a Midnight Madness sale at a big Pennsylvania Dutch grocery store. We go every year, and it's a lot of fun; plus they have grocery specials that can't be missed, such as boneless chicken breasts for $1.29 lb and other great deals. I want to pick up my ham and turkey for Christmas dinner while we're there, too.
Weezle, don't worry, I think Jake got me a laptop for Christmas, and then I'll be able to check in more often during the day, too. I hope you had a wonderful time with your friend last night!
Weezle, you sound right on top of all this Christmas stuff and should have a great one.
Cottage, I sure wish I could dash out for that sort of thing but nothing opens until 8 around here. I'm for 24 hour shopping but need the city for that.
Yesterday sure went fast! I did not make it to the Christmas party. My back was just killing me so I lay down with the heating pad and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
I did get my goodie basket stuff made later and was starting the Velveeta fudge (you don't need to know!), when the kitchen power went off! It seems something shorted out. I couldn't figure it out so wonderful neighbour Moel came to my rescue. It took him and hour but I was back in business. After Grey's Anatomy, I managed to fall asleep on the couch and didn't go to bed until one. The Girls just love sleeping "en famille".
Today I'm outta here around ten to work a charity BINGO in Brockville. When I'm in town, I'll have to go to a big grocery store for a few upscale party essentials but should be home by five. Then I'm off to a dinner party!
After my sad and lonely 2005 Christmas when Harry moved to long term care, I determined that I was going to accept every party invitation I got. Great idea but it sure makes for a busy holiday season. The last one's Jan. 18th!
I must have been insane.
Morning chicks. sounds like everyone is busy with last minutes things. Me too. I am finishing the cleaning and the laundry. DH is out picking up few last minute things, we are going do to the grocery things tonight after I get home from work at 11. Thank goodness for 24 hr shopping. Ruth hope you have lots of fun at all your parties. Hope your D Harry is doing well. Well I must dash and finish things off before I have to pick up the kids at the bus stop at 11:30 and wait for DMIL to show up. Take care chicks and have a wonderful day.
HollyJolly Mornin' All!!! Sounds like all the Beach elves are busy with last minute preparations!!!

DH and I are headin outta here at 2 in the morn "tomorrow" or tonight -dependin on how you look at it--either way, we're trying to beat the rain and holiday traffic back to my beloved Joisey!!! Now then, I will be gone till bout the 4th...I'll try to pop in when I can... I know you'll be nice to Mother Hen Ruth while her helper is away!

Congrats Ruth on winning. I am sure your gift will be a blessing.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah or whatever you celebrate. I hope you all have a blessed holiday. I am off work until weds. Whew… I am going to my Mom’s for Christmas…don’t have to cook dinner or get ready for company cause it’s not at my house this year…boy did I luck out. My mother-in-law had thanksgiving at her house too!!!!!
Guess that means I should offer to do Easter/Passover in the spring? It’s not that I don’t like to host parties its just that with working, running the kids here and there and school -I have until Jan. 12th to finish I am so busy…
Just time for a quick Hello. I've finished upgrading one set of servers and I can't start the next set for another 24 minutes. I'm waiting on two other changes to complete too so I'll probably be here until 2 AM.
They told us we could leave early today at 1 but I'm still trying to finish up that Oracle class so I stayed until 4:30. I'm down to the last two units now so I hope I can finish before the end of the year. I'm going to start working on it again in a bit but I'm not as productive at this hour of the night.
It looks like we'll be going over to friends' on Christmas day so I won't be cooking a meal. Maybe I can make some healthy sides to bring. I'd love to make a dessert but they don't use Splenda which makes it hard to make desserts OP.
Rushing through as I have a huge list today. I'm off to town for a hair trim this morning and have a huge list to cover before then. I'll be back later!
Goodness, Barb, I don't know how you manage to do so much, and stay awake most of the night! You are definitely a Super-Woman! I have the same problem using Splenda for desserts, too, and it's hard to come up with something yummy that everyone can enjoy. Good luck!
We got our big grocery shopping done last night, so I feel good that that's out of the way. I'll still have to run out at the last minute for bread, milk, and lettuce, but that's no big deal. I'm waiting for Jake to get finished in the shower, and then we're going to the mall, of all things. We love to just get a cup of coffee and sit on a bench watching all the last minute frenzy, knowing that we're all finished. I do want to look for a new tablecloth while we're out, though, and we'll treat ourselves to lunch. Tomorrow we'll be busy again, so today is a day for just relaxing and enjoying the day.
Just a quick check in as I haven't been around much lately. Eating has been off and going through some other "stuff" right now as well. I !
I hope that everyone has an absolutely wonderful holiday!! DH is off for three straight days, which will be so great. We kept Christmas pretty simple this year, but I hit great sales for the girls and came in slightly under budget. Gotta love it!
Hi, Kiko! Hope your family has a great Christmas. Brian is getting a little bored already with being off school but he does have his pinewood derby car to work on.
I'm a bit tired. I got to bed around 2:30 and then the pager was going off between 4-4:30. I got called at 5 to do an unexpected verification (we THOUGHT we were done for the night) and got back to bed by 5:30. It was hard convincing my body to go back to sleep when I'm used to getting up at 6. Anyway, Brian didn't come in until 8 but that was still nowhere near enough sleep.
Well, it's a beautiful December 23rd! I hope everybody's ready to celebrate whatever you're celebrating! We are! There's excitement in the air, my MIL and nephew are here, complete with a little Christmas puppy! (Not for us, for MIL, she's still cute anyways!) AND, it's snowing! It hasn't started sticking yet, but it might!
I've actually been doing surprisingly well staying OP the last few days. I feel like I'm shrinking again, but the scale hasn't come out yet. Maybe I'll wait until Monday morning and we'll have a Christmas miracle! (I guess I should just take the snow as a miracle here in Texas, huh?) Anyways, I'm still not sure what we're going to eat for Christmas dinner as our first plan was out of stock here in town (brisket), so we'll have to play it by ear. Maybe a rotisserie chicken. We'll have to wait and see.
I see everyone is busy, busy, busy. Barb, you sure are Super-Woman. At least you don't have to cook the whole meal on Monday, hopefully you'll be able to rest then!
Wow sounds like everyone is busy as can be. I just finished wrapping kids presents. I am glad to have that done before Christmas Eve so that I can enjoy a peaceful night. The one thing I forgot to do was take the ham out of the oven so that I could bring it to my Mom's for Christmas dinner. Opps Hope it thaws in time.
I am done with all my papers on chapters 1-12 of the book of Daniel. Now I just have to write two term papers. Should be a breeze.
I have not been very good lately staying on OP. The good news is that I did not do any damage. I weighed myself at the gym today in a wet bathing suit and wieghed 1 lb less then I did two weeks ago. I am shocked! This is a Christmas miracle. I pray you all get a Chirstmas miracle too.
