Hello,

Jayde - Good for you keeping up the pilates and yoga!! Bravo!! Your youngest is off to school. I can't imagine that day and yet it will come so quickly.

Batmom - WTG with your running. Do you feel like the pedometer is usually pretty accurate with running? I'll have to dig mine out and try it.

Thursday - biked for 30 minutes, climbed waterslide steps 9 times, walked
Friday - a little walking
Saturday - off
Sunday - Ran 3.1 miles in 33:56 minutes, TJ Abs, Light Upper Body Weights

I made it through the birthdays, anniversaries and vacation. I didn't do so great with the food and managed to just hang on with exercise. I have company coming later in the week but she is trying to clean up her eating and include more exercise so I should be able to stick to plan.

Batmom,

I break it up. That day I ran the 3.1 miles (33:37 min), Walked (another 13 min), did Turbo Jam Sculpt (40 min) and did water exercises in the pool (40 min). Running gives me a lot of energy immediately afterwards and then I just want to keep going. I finished the c25k program and am getting ready to mix up my training. Any tips on begining speed workouts?

most info seems to say to do some interval work. Similar to your c25k program only alternate bouts of sprinting in with your jogging.

After reading lots of running posts, it really seems very important to build a very solid running base before even worrying about going fast. I don't think I've got this base yet so I've been really working on getting the miles under my belt. It does seem that my pace has increased but more slowly than I would hope. I have a couple races in the future and fear an injury though.

Have you done a race? Now that you can run 5k you should def try. It really gives you a rush!
