Mel, congrats on going off the meds today! And keep moving. Exercise does so many good things ... and I plan to continue with it when I reach my goal.
happy, glad you're back at it because that's what is important. Enjoy your girls night out! Today I did pretty much the same thing as Tues: 28 minutes on the elliptical and 22 minutes on the recumbant bike. Did not cough or sneeze once during the workout. :) |
Did a full on spinning class yesterday, but have had to cancel exercise as my head cold has got sooo bad and is no longer just in my head.
Having today and tomorrow as total rest days (I went to bed straight after work for 3 hours) and hopefully back into the swing of things with a yoga class saturday morning. Keep up the good work ladies and do some for me! |

Clareh, sorry to hear about your cold. As one who is getting over a cold (head and chest), I feel for you. Get lots of rest and don't be in a hurry to start exercising again. Your body will know when it's ready. Hope you feel better soon!

Do you own your elipticals? How much is it for a decent one? It doesnt have to be top of the line. My friend has one that was 1 or 2 thousand and then I saw one at walmart for 200. Thanks

My thighs are really sore today from Wednesday's weight workout and it hurts to walk! Think I'll drop the weight a bit next week. Not sure if I'll do today's workout because I ache and am still getting over my cold. But I'll see how I feel as the day goes on and may do my upper-body weight workout this afternoon.
Regarding ellipticals, I don't know anything about the various brands or prices. I use the elliptical at the gym and I lift weights (dumbbells) at home. You might want to do a search on the exercise forum because I think this topic comes up periodically. Happy Friday and hope everyone has a terrific weekend! :D |

I'm not doing as much exercise as I used to (roughly about 40 minutes a day) but at least it's consistent. Today I did DVD pilates workout for about 30 minutes - intermediate level. Tam |

Hi ladies- I'm back from my cold!
Wecome tammay Mel enjoy your days off. I did 40 mins on the cross trainer yesterday and 30 mins today to ease myslef back into things. Quite a hard week with yoga, spinning x 2, 2 4.5 mile walks, and a 90 min cross trainer session. I'm off work on Friday so may finally get my gymn induction done (not that I'm suddenly going to launch into a weights program as well) Have a great week |

Well today is my first official day on Sonoma - and was supposed to be my first day back at the gym (in almost a month!!) - unfortunately I slept in this morning - sometimes 5:00 am comes far far too early! I've decided Monday's will be my official day off - since I am so bad at Monday's! I will however take the dog and the hubby for a 40 min walk after dinner tonight! Have a great day! |

Clareh, glad to hear your cold is gone. Mine is winding down and I think easing back into exercising last week was a good idea for me. Mel, thought today was a day off for you?? Hope your neck and shoulder are OK. Exercise is great for warming up, isn't it? I didn't want to get out of bed this morning because it was in the 30s (very cold for here) but now I'm nice and warm. Legs still kinda sore from last Wednesday, guess I went too heavy too soon. So today I did the exercises using my own (substantial) body weight without dumbbells and it was a good workout. Hope the legs are back to normal soon and I will gradually increase the weight to where I was before I got sick. |
