I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.
If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.
Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.
There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!!!
Ammi- Your new picture looks great! You are doing really good. Is your daughter feeling better now? I know she was very happy to have mommy waiting on her
Valerie-- thanks so much! I hope everything goes well with the Attorney. I have a special place in my heart for attorney's . My sister is a attorney and loves her job so much.
Ok Ladies---I must admit I love shopping again Oh I forgot how much fun it was! I find myself shopping more and more as I shed weight. Take care ladies I am off to take my son to Tea Kwon Do.
Nancy - I know it's easier said than done, but please don't feel too down about not having lost anything since your procedure. Surgery of any kind hits the body for six, plus it stopped you from exercising. I think perhaps you shouldn't wait to go back to the doctors. Go soon and let him/her know what's been going on since the procedure and see what they have to say. In the mean time don't be so hard on yourself.
Nelie - oh my goodness, you and I weigh the same but you could never get me doing either of the hikes you have a choice from for the weekend. You must be so much fitter than me!! I hope the weather will stay cooler and that whichever hike you choose you will have a wonderful time.
How old is the photo you have as your avatar, you look terrific in it, yet you have more recent ones to post? Can't wait to see the new one
Sharon - you never told me that you had gained a lb when we chatter earlier. If you did then I would have said what I am going to say now, HELLO!! You have been pretty inactive thanks to hurting your ankle...it's understandable that you haven't lost anything. A 1 lb gain is pretty good considering everything. I bet if you get on the scales tomorrow you will see that lb has gone
Patti - you said it spot on when you gave a reply to Nancy. Anybody when they aren't seeing a loss for a while no matter how hard they tried, has to just hang in there. Just think how wonderful you will feel when you hang in there and then get on the scales and see that they have gone down!!
on the NSV, they beat scale victories any day!! Congratulations
Heather - How fantastic that you got the plane tray down with no problems. I went to Australia in 1997, and then to Vegas in 2002 and both times I couldn't get my tray down. Thankfully I was either with Beth or Daren and I shared their tray. I DO look forward to the day I can go on a plane and use my own lap tray!! I am so thrilled for you that you could do it. I bet you had a beaming smile on your face!!
Valerie - I sent you a pm, but just want to say here that I am glad you have decided to do something about making your life a happier one! Well done
Rkrs - thanks for your comment on my new photo and for asking about Beth. She is much better now, she has only had 2 lots of pain killers today instead of 5, so it just shows she is feeling a lot better. I am still looking after her and giving her her meals on her lap, may as well let her enjoy the last week of being mummy's little girl again
That's great that you are loving shopping again. I am not at that stage yet, but know I will be when I am buying smaller prettier clothes. No more black and dark colours for me
hi ladies!
rkrs~ Shopping is my FAVORITE thing to do and I find that I shop more and more all the time. I don't know if we can afford for me to lose any more weight *L*
ok guys, I am heading to water areobics. I havent been there in months and I am buying a month pass so I will continue to go back!
I'll be back to let you all know how it went!
Brenda
Wow brenda water areobics sounds like so much fun. One day I will get enough nerve to get me a bathing suit and maybe try taking a class. I have not been swimming since I was about 12. Enjoy your class and have some fun for me also
Oooh, water aerobics is a blast! I didn't think I'd have the courage to go out in public in a bathing suit, but I went to an all-women's gym for the classes, and most of the other women in the pool were overweight as well, so I didn't feel like a sore thumb Plus, the only time people really see you is going to and from the pool since they can't really see your body in the water
I would love to do water aerobics! But there are no classes at my local community center at a time when I can go. This summer, I went swimming a few times at the pool in my apartment community and no one ran me off! But then again, I took off my glasses so I couldn't tell if anyone was laughing at me or not, LOL.
Thanks for the PM AMMI. Like I said, I lost my original reply to you, but even writing it helped organize my thoughts. I'm moving past self pity and self-delusion, but that doesn't mean everything is crystal clear. I'm a work in progress, but at least I've decided not to just sit pouting in the mud puddle, splashing it on my head, waiting for someonne else to come along and make me stop! ...Heavens, where did THAT visual come from? I like it.
The California trip fell through, so we're on our way to Indiana. The pay is the worst we've been offered in MONTHS (who cares it's not MY money) but at least we're heading for someplace with livable weather!!! I'm just glad my Yankee fanny is heading NORTH!
Hello All-
I'm new to 3FC- but not to dieting. I enjoyed reading your posts, and seeing the progress you are making. I'm at 400 pounds right now, and desperate to get down. I'm engaged, and have postponed setting a date until I can be the beautiful bride I've always dreamed of being. Any tips, encouragement, etc that I can get I need.
I look forward to getting to know all of you and seeing you reach your goals (& hopefully reaching my own as well!)
Kimberly
Well the pool was great. My legs cramped up big time but I worked through them and made it through the whole class. For those that do areobics, do you have problems with this too?? If so, how do you control them?
So now, I am just sittin here, having a bit of protien packed chilli and a BIG glass of cran-water before I head upstairs before I crash onto the couch for the rest of the night.
Well tomorrow is Steven's consultation with the Dr. I hope he will agree to preforming the surgery. We will see
Welcome Kimpossible!! Glad to see you on the boards .. Im a relative newbie on here too I only have one piece of advice really .. . okee .. maybe 2 lol .. First .. Set small goals to reach rather than a big one ... the bigger it is the more daunting it is ... secondly you are allowed to slip, it wont be the end of the world, but the idea is that catch yourself, work out what triggered it and learn from it ... oh .. and dont beat yourself up over it .. you can beat yourself up if you decide to quit altogether ... but we arent looking for perfection from ANYONE.
Be happy with every little step you take ... even if its just changing your lifestyle to healthier eating habits and maybe a little exercise too .. dont make it a chore or work or something to stress over .... have fun with it .. dont rely on the scales to make your choices ok, go by how you feel instead ... okee .. I think I have had a couple more tips lol .. but that will do ...
Check out some of the other boards with the different plans that people are on and talking about for ideas on foods .. there are some great recipes on there ... Im on Jenny Craig until at least the end of the year while I get my eating habits in a better frame lol ..
Good Luck and be proud of yourself for taking the first steps
-------------
Had my weigh in today! Happy me But now my fat percentage is up again!! grrr ... still .. Im on target lol .. so quite happy. I also snuck out the tape measure last night (even tho Im not supposed to measure again until next Friday) and my bust is down 1cm (grrr), hips are down 1cm (dble grr), but my waist! its down 5cm!!! Its always the first thing to go lol ...
Lovely to see everyone getting reinvigorated in their challenges to themselves, I think youre all marvellous. Im going to take one of the dogs on the lead today to the post box to post some mail, well Im going to try .. its on the main road which is pretty busy, but I will just go as far as I can, as my hunny is only home on the weekends I really need to conquer this silly fear of mine .. the funny thing is .. I am fine going out on my own at night .. must be something about the dark and not being seen or something .. boy that was zen Katt! Anyway ... Im going to have my lunch soon then go challenge myself again
kimpossible - You will love it here...everyone is really supportive! If you have any questions feel free to ask anyone. I hope you do great with your weight loss efforts. Hey, we have the same goal weight. Do you have a weight loss plan - calorie counting, exercise...etc? Good luck!! Hope to see you around here often!
Hi Ladies - Ooooh, water aerobics - I love it, and swimming in general!! But our ONE community pool is closed for reno's this month. I might look into getting up there once a week or something starting Septemeber...we will see if I get bored of all the walking, lol. Speaking of...got in 60 minutes today....well, that's what my pedometer said...but it has been undershooting alot....I need a new one. ...Last week it said 43 minutes and I clocked it to 56 minutes!! That's when I first noticed it... So, I'm just going by what it says for now. I will try to pay a bit more for a better quality one. I got a lottery ticket for tomorrows and Saturdays draws....tomorrow is a 12M jackpot, and Saturdays is 42M!!!! OMG - what if, hey?? Well, I'm hoping to get a wee bit more activty in later tonight...even if it's just 5-10 minutes. DH works until 10:30, so maybe I will meet up with him down the block. I'm off to play on POGO now, hehe.
Have a SUPERB day ladies!
Stay OP chickies!!!
Welcom Kimpossible . I am so happy to see you here. You are going to love this site. There is so much support here for you!. We have very similar end goals and I do feel we can both reach our goals. Anyway Welcome
