Default 300+ And Ready to Try Again...#952

WELCOME !!!

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!

You said that when you diet you don't like to think you are depriving yourself of anything, have you ever tried WW? I think it seems like the best diet around when it comes to being able to eat what you want. You can even have soda as long as you count it in your points!
I have considered it but I really don't have the money for it.

Just a quick post, as I have to get to bed fairly early, as I have to be up bright and early at 4:30 am for my early weekend shift at work. I just wanted to say to Ammi... to you! You are sticking to your plan so fabulously!!!!

Tomorrow, after work is Medieval Times, and I'll admit, I'm a bit nervous about going off plan, even though I've been OP for SEVEN straight months now. And I'm going to be back on plan Sunday....I dunno. LOL...it's like I think I'm going to gain all of the weight I lost in one meal...heh.

Well, bedtime for me.

Night, ladies!

NoLifeWithoutHorses - Thanks for the kind words! Although I don't do Pilates - did you get me mixed up with someone else about that?

wyllenn - Oh, yes, you gotta get some swimming in...not only do you not notice your sweating, but there's also no impact....and the best part - weightlessness! I'm obsessed with it, I'm sure it'll be a great addition to your plan.

Ammi - I haven't completed any of this weeks badges yet, but it's coming along, lol. My obessions on there are Canasta and Backgammon.

Hey Everyone - Went to the DR...everything came up pretty normal - ugh! But it's soooo sore! The DR told me just to keep taking Tylonel and Motrin for 10 more days and come back if it's STILL bad....sadly, I think I will be going back in 10 days. Anyways, has a nice sandwich for lunch...soon I'll be having dinner - probably lean meat, veggies, and a baked tater. YUM! Got in 1.5 miles walking around the mall today...seems like a good way to get some walking in, lol! So, that's about 30 minutes of walking...woo hoo! Not much else to say at the moment. Congrats to all the recent "losers" and "motivational vibes" to those to need it!!
Stay OP chickies!!!

Just a quickie for Ammi -- Sorry to hear about Daren! How is he taking the news?

As for you, you are really getting into the attitude now.

I don't know if anyone else has had this experience, but when I went on diets before, I always found ways (lots of ways) to "cheat" -- I did that a lot on WW. This time, it's like I've finally figured out that I can certainly go ahead and cheat, but my body is going to know everything I put in it. I can't cheat my body -- it knows what I eat AND how much I move. THAT was a lightbulb moment.

Anyway, your story reminded me of that.

Zelma -- I'm always wiped at the end of every term too!

Thanks everyone for the congrats on loosing 5 more. I appreciate the support so much.

Val: How much flaxseed do you eat a day? I have some but don't know how much I should take. Glad you were able to find that store. Stay safe my friend.

Tracy: I was so tickled when I saw my bottom tracker. I tell you I just giggled and giggled. Thank you for letting me know. I fixed it. It is nice to see that if I ever gain, praying I won't, but If it happend This forum automatically will tell me not to give up. LOL. Hope your day is better tomorrow.

Zelma: Hi and nice to see you posting. Hope you can have a good nap this weekend.

Ammi: Big hugs to you and hope to chat with you soon.

Blessings to everyone else.

I could have sworn that Lori said her birthday was the 6th of July LOL. I even wrote it on my calendar as the 6th. Silly me.

Good night all,
Annie

Kayley: You will be surprised at how many of those wonderful new habits you've been practicing for 7 months will take over during your day and you'll fair just fine. Yes, you may have a few more calories that you might normally have, but instead of stuffing yourself like you might have before, you'll eat less and be more satisfied with the "atmosphere" and "fun" of the event that you will be with food. Enjoy your day and don't worry too much about it. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how much you eat more like a thin person now that you've been doing so well OP for all these months.

Good Morning All,

Don't look now, but I think it's going to be a lovely day. I have a stack of laundry to do, so am looking forward to getting it all washed and dried today. Then I have the joy NOT of ironing it tomorrow

Tracey - All you need to do the WW diet is a points calculator. I don't go to a WW group. I have all the support I need here, I have my own set of scales, and I have my ever faithful points calculator I bought my calculator from the WW website shop, but you can buy them from eBay too.

Kayley - thanks for the on my sticking OP, it's even amazing me how well I am doing. After a life time it seems of dieting, it's weird that finally I seem to really be able to do it now

I hope you have a fantastic time at the medieval show, and I hope you don't let the worry about giving yourself a treat spoil things for you. Just enjoy and know that you will easily be 100% on track tomorrow!

Melissa - I know what you mean about loving the weightlessness when you are in the pool. But don't you just hate it when you get back out and you feel like the weight of the world has just landed on you!

Oh yes I remember you saying you like Backgammon on Pogo. I never win at it, of course that might have something to do with barely knowing the rules But I do love Canasta, and don't you just love the voice that says, 'Canasta - NO WILDS'

How frustrating that you have that terrible sore throat and yet the doctors can't give you a reason for it. Why are they making you suffer another 10 days before you go back. What will they do when you do go back, and why couldn't they do that yesterday. Sorry you are still in pain.

Heather - thanks for asking how Daren took the news. It did upset him, especially the thought of surgery, but at the same time he got to ask some questions about Glaucoma. His family gave him the impression that glaucoma makes you lose your mind, your sight and then your life. The nurse that saw him assured him that caught in time and treated it won't make you blind, and under no circumstances does it drive you mad or kill you. Knowing that made the diagnosis much easier to take. It's just the waiting now to know which treatment he will need that is stressing us out

I love what you said about not being able to cheat your body, that's so true. That thought goes through my head whenever I think of having something I shouldn't. I think yes I can get away with eating something bad, nobody will know, but like you said, your body knows. Why cheat ourselves, where does it get us? It gets us FAT. Shame I didn't have that 'light bulb moment' many many diets ago!

Annie - your second ticker did look funny didn't it. It was so funny how it said you had gained over 1000 lbs, I told Daren what it said and he thought you might have been having a sarcastic moment when you changed the ticker, you know, maybe having gained a lb made you feel like you had gained 1000 so that's what you put I assured him you hadn't done that and that in fact you had lost 5 lbs

Hpnotq - it's always nice to see you post, even if they are just little ones. I wish everybody who haven't posted in ages would at least do that so that we would know they are all ok.

Well I think my first load of washing has finished now, I better go hang it out. Mind you the sky is looking grey now. So much for the weather report saying no rain today Take care all,

Hugs,

Ammi

Just a quick post from work. The office doesn't officially open until 7am, and I've gotten all my paperwork done that I need to this morning. Probably won't be on until tonight, if that. Won't get back from Medieval Times until about 11pm or so, and I have to work in the morning tomorrow again...so I'll probably catch you all TOMORROW.

Stay OP, and have a GREAT Saturday!

Thinthinker - I think you are probably right. I've developed some pretty solid habits. And I keep telling myself that this is a LIFESTYLE change, and part of a lifestyle is allowing yourself to indulge every once in a while. I'm wondering if I'll even WANT the non-OP stuff when I get there! Time will tell. So, thank you! Your post made me think.

Ammi - It's just never 'clicked' for you before now...and now that it has, you are UNSTOPPABLE! I'll definately enjoy myself, and I'll make sure to take lots of pics!

Annie - You hit it RIGHT on! This place won't LET you give up...and I love it! So, when are you guys going to be moving?

Ammi - I know what you mean about getting out of the pool - have you ever used the ladder out of the deep end for getting out? Man, EVERY SINGLE ONE of my 340odd pounds feels multiplied when I try climbing out that way!!! LOL! Well of course you aren't gonna like Backgammon if you don't know the rules, lol, it's quick to learn and very easy afterwards...it can be quite evil and competitive if you want it to be (like when me and my DH play, lol) it's fun to leave no prisoners in that game, lol! LOL @ the Canasta voice! I love it too! When I get something that the voice says I always say it along with it. "Joker" "Canasta!" LOL! Anyways, yeah I have no clue why I have to have pain for 10 more days before going back to the DR's...I guess it will narrow done a couple things if it lasts that much longer....not sure. The DR gave me some possibilities, but I told her none applied to me...so I'm at a loss...it FEELS like tonsilitus but apparently 2.5 weeks ago my tests gave up negative for that. I don't see why she didn't do another test...maybe it would show up now..it's been awhile! Oh well...I'm going back RIGHT at 10 days. Thanks for the concern - it's appreciated. Talk to you later!

Ammi- oh yes the kids join me and dance around the house as well. If people were watching on a hidden video they would be laughing because we can not dance but we sure do have lots of fun! We currently do not have plans to have any additional children. Do you have any children?

Tracey- I am sure whatever plan you pick will be good for you! You will love the Zoo!. I must admit that I wanted to go to the Zoo just as much as my children did

Kayley- You have done so good on you weight loss! I sometimes have the same feeling about one meal having me gain back so many pounds. I am sure you will be fine. I hope you are having a great day at work. Like you said you have made a great Lifestlye change.

Ok ladies..Last night was really good for me. I saw my Mother-in-law yesterday in the first time in about 4 months. She told me I look great with all my weight loss! It made me feel really good. I am down to 311 today so I have shed 8 pounds this week. I guess I can tell that I have finally shed weight. I am not sure why but for the longest I couldn't tell that the weight was coming off. I stuck to my plan but I still could not see the results before. Yesterday I was finally able to see and feel the difference! Have a great day everyone! I am going shopping and to a church picnic today.

Hi All,

I am definitely full of energy today, I have sorted out all my CDs, done 3 loads of washing, sorted out a cupboard downstairs, AND done my first 15 minutes on my Gazelle Rider I love it when I get a lot done in just half a day. I don't feel so guilty when I am online then

Kayley - I have thought that I have 'clicked' on previous diets, but in hindsight I realise that I definitely hadn't. I have never felt like this, and I DO feel unstoppable!!

Looking forward to seeing all the pics you take at the medieval times event

Melissa - I am the same as you I always copy the voice when it says Canasta etc, and if I am playing for long enough, Daren starts saying it too. He makes me laugh though because he reckons that when the voice is saying Joker, it sounds more like Yoghurt I would love to learn to play Backgammon properly, I just dont get why Pogo don't let you practise with robots, at least you don't get to feel a fool like you would if you were making huge mistakes playing with another person

Oh I thought you were going to have tests for tonsilitis again yesterday. What exactly did the doctor do then?? Sounds like he/she isn't much good. Can you see another doctor instead?

Rkrs - well done on another 8 lbs lost, all that dancing sure must be paying off I am so glad your MIL noticed how great you are looking after losing so much weight, and more importantly I am glad you are finally noticing too

Yes I have children, a daughter who was 15 in May, and a step daughter who is 15 in November. I loved the baby and young years, they were hard work but a lot of fun. These teenage years are not fun at all!!! And in case you are wondering, no I don't intend to ever ever ever have any more children. It would be ok if they stayed little but they don't, so I will just stick with what I have got. I fully intend to enjoy grand children one day though, all the joy of kids and then being able to send them home when they get moody or naughty

Bye for now,

Hugs,

Ammi

Good morning, everyone.

LOL too bad I missed Annie's ticker! Must have been something funny to see!

Melissa, hey I am impressed that you CAN get out of the pool with the ladder... LOL I tried it but couldn't hoist my big body out. I did just jump in the other day though instead of going down the kiddie steps... but the pool is only 4 feet deep so I hit bottom and twisted my ankle; nothing serious fortunately, but not sure I want to try that again!

Kayley, bet you will do just fine today! As others have said, bet the "old" "pig out" habit is gone and you will still not just go for all the food you can stuff in, yet have plenty and have a good time!

rk that is wonderful that your mil noticed and complimented you on your weight loss! Good job!

To everyone else... have a great day!

I have a busy one! My church is having a booth at an outdoor festival in Mill Creek and I volunteered to help. I don't know how much exercise will show up on my pedometer as aerobic walking since may not get 10 mins at a time but I will definitely be getting some exercise! I may count part of the time in my daily minutes... will see how it goes and decide. The parking will be a nightmare so I am taking a bus up. I thought about walking back (4 miles) but think I would rather get on home and jump into the pool for a workout!

Happy Saturday, everyone!
