  • Ammi--you look so young. You look about 23! I'm serious you look great I only hope I look as young when my children are 15.
  • Ammi - I have no clue why you can't play Backgammon alone (with robots), I think for every other game you can...so not fair, lol. And, no, I didn't get a test done...I expected to though..it only makes sense. All the DR did was check to see if I was swollen and said to come back if it doesn't clear up...all her possibilities didn't apply to me so she just said to take my Tylonel and Motrin and come back next week....sigh. I could see another DR, yes, I will do that when I go back, maybe that DR will have some ideas on why it has lasted 4 weeks!! I'm only getting relief when I take my Tylonel/Motrin...but I need to buy some more and I'm broke (besides $ to pay an upcoming bill)....its about $18 for those 2 bottles total...I can't really afford that! So, maybe if it doesn't go away I will have to shimmy some $ out of bill payments to get some stinkin pain relief.

Hello Ladies - Not too much to say at 6am, lol, been up since 4am for DH's EARLY EARLY work shift, lol. I think I will probably add to my few hours of sleep in a bit...get another hour or 2. Then I will be doing my inbetween weigh-in....hopefully I will be -1 since Tuesday to be on track. I've been OP everyday again, so hopefully it will turn out okay....if not I've gotta step up my swim time next week! I can't believe I've been perfectly OP for over 50 days in a row now!! No junk, no weeks over 14,000 calories - woo hoo!! My 15 pounds lost so far in comparison to my 160 or so still needing to be lost seem so small, but then yesterday I was thinking "2 months ago I would've done anything to drop 15 pounds"....and I realized for someone who has never really ever lost weight in her whole life 15 pounds is HUGE!! I keep looking at my progress as 15/176.5 pounds lost, but lately I've been seeing it for what it is...15 pounds lost is 15 pounds lost....and I should celebrate that on its own, not just as part of my goal. Just my ramblings.
Hope everyone has a great day, and stay OP chickies!!!

    Melissa
  • rkrs -- Had I noticed before that you have lost 70 pounds???!! I think sometimes I'm a little dense on noticing people's tickers! And you're not far from the 200's!!!

I think when we are so big it's hard to notice the loss at first. But after a while... I'm starting to get noticed by everyone!

Ammi -- Glad to hear Daren actually got a lot of good news, compared to what he was thinking. And look at you GO!!!! All that energy! I am so so so happy for you!!!!

kayley -- I know you probably won't see this before you get back, but I just wanted to say that you are absolutely right that you have to integrate these habits into a life... I am definitely still working on that part. I'm fine when I have a lot of control, but finding ways to do well when I'm gone for a while or eating out all the time is still something I have to think about a lot. I hope you had a GREAT time!

Melissa -- Absolutely right! You definitely have something to celebrate... and soon you'll be at 15x2, and then 15x3... keep going!
  • I don't even know if many of you all remember me but I just wanted to say hey to you girls....I see that there are a lot of new people on here. I have been so busy with nursing school and clinicals that I haven't been on here in months. I have gained a little bit of my weight back but I am trying to get back on track. I sure am getting a lot of exercise though with clinicals. Anyways I am going to try to start posting more.

  • rk - congrats on the weightloss and how good it feels to have that noticed. I know I was there once upon a time and gained most of it back.

Vilandra/Melissa - Hope you start feeling better soona nd I DEFINATELY know that feeling about the ladder. Even when I was in better shape its like..... ugh it definately is a major effort to pull yourself up out of the water.

Ammi - Wow you look accomplihed

kayleystar - have a great time at mideival times.

Everyone - Hope you are having a great weekend...

I have done nothing today except role out of bed, take blood presure meds and eat an apple... and read here... lol
  • Andrea -- I remember, Hi!!! Don't be a stranger! You can get back on track!
  • Melissa – Your haircut looks really cute. I am glad you finally got to go swimming. I agree about the getting out of the pool thing - I feel like I weigh about double when I first get out.

Valerie – My favorite character was Nynaeve. I really liked the romance between her and Lan (I think that was his name – it has been a long time). I know there are others, but my two favorite series off the top of my head are the 3 trilogies by Robin Hobb starting with Assassin’s Apprentice, and the Death Gate Cycle by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. I also really liked the Black Jewels trilogy by Anne Bishop.

Heather – Your talking about your resting a binge really helped me resist one the other day. Even though I haven’t been posting as much recently I have been reading and it makes it easier knowing others are going through the same thing.

Tracey – Have you tried Coke Zero? I find it tastes much more like real Coke than regular Diet Coke. I’d love to make it to the zoo some time this summer.

Ammi – That is fantastic that you made that choice not to go over on points. I think that is the best feeling – knowing you have the choice and making the one you feel good about.

Kayley – I hope you have a great time at Medieval Times.

I had a very near miss Thursday night with a box of cake batter – it was a very close one. I actually looked at the box and thought about how many calories it had, the difference between making it with or without oil, etc. I ended up promising myself that I could stop at the bakery on the way home yesterday and get myself a treat if I really truly wanted it - and guess what. I totally forgot about it until I got home. So maybe if I still want something this weekend I will have something, but if not that’s ok too.

I am going to try and do some exercise today – I’m not sure what yet. I am still over a week away from when I am supposed to go back to exercising, but I just can’t take it anymore. Exercise is my link and my key to staying on plan and on path and I need it. The doctor said my body would let me know if it is too soon, so I am going to see if it thinks so.

Right now I need to get to the library. I have some overdue books and other things to pick up. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
  • Kayley - Can't wait to hear about Medieval Times. We have one here too but I have never been.

Melissa - I thought I was the ONLY one who felt like they weighed a ton getting out of a pool. I used to belong to a gym that had water aerobics and I was so embarrassed when I could barely pull myself up out of the water on that ladder thingy. It was such a depressing feeling. Hey, great job on the 50 days OP!!!

rkrs - I am glad your mother-in-law had nice things to say. It must be fun to see someone you haven't seen in a while and get that kind of reaction. You are doing great! 70 pounds. That's great!

Andrea - I remember you. I am glad to see you back out here. We are here to support you if you want to get back on track.

    Nancy
    - That's great you were able to resist the cake mix. I can imagine it's tempting to get into the food when you are used to being exercising, working, and out and about and then you are sort of slowed down while you are recuperating. I am not sure I would handle it as well as you are. Great job! And good luck getting started back with the exercise. Don't overdo it though.

As usual, nothing too exciting for me. I overslept and missed my WW meeting today. I am in the mood for scrapbooking this weekend. I decided in addition to the one I am doing for my European vacation I am also going to make a small one to document my weight loss. I've got my start pics and all my stats and will add pics and stats at every 25 pound loss. I have my title page set up to show my before and after pics. The page is all ready and looking great just waiting for that after pic to come!!!! It's a long way off but gives me just another thing to look foward to!

Well, have a great weekend everyone!
  • Andrea- I am also a nursing student due to graduate in May. So I understand what you are talking about being busy. Oh the joys of clinicals ..Anyway nice to say hello to you.
  • Quote: Heather – Your talking about your resting a binge really helped me resist one the other day. Even though I haven’t been posting as much recently I have been reading and it makes it easier knowing others are going through the same thing.
Nancy, that's fantastic!! When I posted it, I did so in part because I am so helped when other people post their struggles and successes. I'm so glad that was helpful!!!

Sounds like your recovery is going well. I hope we can see you on the exercise thread soon!!
  • Xena --Thanks you and I also like the ideal of getting pictures together. My problem is I have maybe one or two pictures of me at 381. I always stayed away from the camera. I plan to take a picture when I have loss 100 pounds. So I can compare the two pictures that I do have. I can't wait to join you in the 200's.
  • Hey Everyone...

Just time for a quick post unfortunately. I have had an emotional few days, I think I just got to the point where not sleeping well took its toll on me and I was super crabby and it just did not help that it took me 3 days to get my exercise bike in working order again.

I was able to sleep in today and then got back on the bike for my 30 minutes. I think I may be getting back to normal. Luckily for the challenge I built in some rest days I can use as make-up days and still make my goal.

I had my first weigh in today... I am down 3 pounds. At first I was actually mad at myself that it was not more -- how silly is that! I think I was expecting more because so many seem to have higher numbers their first week, but I can't think that way because I am not everybody else.

    Claire
  • rkrs -- Don't wait to lose 100 pounds to take pics! Take them every 15-20 pounds. You will start to see a difference!

claire -- 3 pounds the first week is great! Don't compare yourself to anyone else! Just keep going!
  • Hi All,

I have just had a lovely cup of hot chocolate, hubby is watching the football, all my ironing is done, and now I can happily and guilt free sit here catching up with you all.

I had a wonderful wonderful revelation today. To me, because I can't really see any weight loss in myself as such, the numbers 41 lbs lost really don't register as good. Well you know how I have a Gazelle Rider? I have a small house so I need to close it up after each use and store it beside the sofa. The rider is really heavy and it's a nuisance having to store it away. But anyway, I was looking at the brochure that came with it and it gave details about the thing. It weighs 46 lbs. FORTY SIX POUNDS!!! Just 5 lbs more than I have lost, and it is soooooo heavy. My goodness, I have lost that much weight, it's just amazing. It really makes me feel bad that I was that much heavier in the first place, but so thrilled that I have lost that much now, well nearly that much

Misti - I hope you had a great time helping out on the booth. I certainly don't blame you for not wanting to walk the 4 miles home. Much better to have a nice swim after getting the bus home!

Rkrs - wow, thank you, you certainly made my day I am 38 this month, so being told I look 23 is a huge compliment, thank you!!

Melissa - I am glad you are looking at the real picture, that you have lost 15 lbs which is fantastic. The idea of setting mini goals is to help us not focus on how far we have to go. One day at a time, just enjoy each and every lb as it comes off!

I am glad you are planning on seeing another doctor when you go back. It's ridiculous that they didn't run another lot of tests and just expect you to deal with the pain for another 10 days before they will look into it again. I am sorry that your only relief is from taking pain killers and that they are so expensive. Don't you get any help with the cost from your Insurance?

Heather - it's funny isn't it, you don't really realise how much energy your weight saps until you lose some and can do so much more. I even ran up the stairs tonight. Me, AMMI, who normally hobbles up and down them. Amazing It's sure been a great day today!

Andrea - HEY stranger Of course you are remembered, you are one of our few Andreas So lovely to see you posting again. I love your new avatar photo, how recent is it? If it's new you certainly can't tell you have put any of your weight back on!! Looking forward to seeing more of your posts

Silentarctic - I look accomplished?? I must be thick, sorry, I don't get it, but thank you anyway

Oooooh I just noticed you are just 1 little lb away from TwoTown, that is brilliant, I am sure you won't be long getting there

Nancy - well done for not giving in to that cake batter treat. I loved the deal you did with yourself to not have it, but to buy a treat from the bakery later if you wanted one. You forgot all about it which just goes to show you really didn't need it

I hope you will take it very easy with starting exercise before you are due to. What about some walking, that's nice and gentle, well it is as long as your leg isn't giving you any grief. Take care

Xena - what a fantastic idea to scrapbook your weight loss journey. I am absolutely useless when it comes to arty stuff like that. I may buy an ordinary photo album to chart my weight loss. I think I will ask for a posh one for my birthday

Claire - you are so right, we are all different and a loss no matter how big or small is always something to be very proud of. Well done on your 3 lb loss that is really great I am sorry you have had some bad days, seems your body has been missing the adrenalin rush that your exercising brings you. I am glad your bike is fixed now and you are back to using it

Ok I have caught up for now, so I am going to watch the end of the football with Daren and then we are watching Monster In Law. I have wanted to see that since it was on at the cinema. We couldn't go, and now it's on Sky Movies, so yay, I am going to watch it. Take care all and as I doubt I will get back on here tonight, take care all and I will see you tomorrow.

    Hugs,

    Ammi
  • Ammi - In Canada we get all our DR's visits free but we gotta pay for medication - I think in serious cases some is covered, but not pills you can buy at the store. Also, got the poker badge...working on Dominos for my chosen badge! Oh, and I agree with rkrs6673 - you do look alot younger than 37!

Afternoon Ladies - Let me start by saying I LOVE THIS SITE!! LOL! It has helped me so much. Well, my "checkup" weigh-in this morning was *exactly* where I wanted it to be to be on track...also, I'm soooo close to my 1st goal (getting in the 330's) - if I can lose 2pds next week I'll be there, ahhh!!! I haven't seen the 330's in about...3 years!! I can believe how many years I've gone back with my weight in just 7 weeks, lol. Well, it's lunch time, off to enjoy my 6" Ham Sub on Wheat with DH!! (Breakfast was honey on wheat toast - yum!!) Oh, also, does anyone know what honey really is? ...I'm gonna have problems eating it again since DH told me, lol!!
Have a good one, and stay OP chickies!!

    Melissa
