Hi there!
I was wondering what time of day do you usually get your workouts in if you do it on a planned schedual?
I do mine the only time I can. 5 AM! I know, that's early. But it's the only time i can do it without having to worry about the kids (3 1/2 and 13 months!) I just have my 2 cups of coffee and wake up for about 1/2 hour and go! They I feel terrific all day!
Soemtimes it's hard to get up and do it but it feels so good and so does the feeling of accomplishment!
I work out in the a.m., too, Maggs. On the weekdays, I set my clock for 5 a.m., put on my workout clothes, and do my workout--sans coffee or anything else! On the weekends, I'll get up a little later, have coffee (& sometimes a lite breakfast w/ my husband), and then do my workout.
I find that if I do not do my workouts in the a.m., I'm less likely to do them. However, for the past few weeks, I've been doing one of my workouts on Friday after work. I do this because I teach a late class on Thursdays (until 9:15 p.m.), and I'm just too tired to get up at 5 a.m. on Friday. Also, my husband works Friday nights, so I have the house to myself (except for my 2 dogs --but I'm sure they're entertained by me exercising--LOL!).
Maggs -- Firstly Congrats on your weight loss #s! Great accomplishment!
For years I did my exercises at 5am too and enjoyed it also... Got up at 4:30 had a coffee and off to the gym I went... These days my schedule is different I do it in mid-afternoon around 2:30 or 3PM and on weekends too depending on my weekly schedule...
I don't think it really matters what time you do it at, whether you eat before or after (that questions has been asked on numerous occasions too), but the important part is just as long as you DO IT! Calories in, calories out! It's not rocket science!
I do a mini workout in the mornings. But I tried to run in the mornings and found I talked myself out of it too often because it was too dark, raining, or too cold. I'd rather hit the treadmill and yet the club isn't opened early enough for me to do it before work. So the only plan I could stick with was going for a run right after work, before I sit down and get started in anything at home, while I'm already on the go. And recently, I've started adding my morning workouts in-home.
Hello Everyone i am new to your group but not new to the diet world. Last year i tried Atkins and in 11 days i was down 15 pounds, then christmas came and new years and well i got all discouraged and cheated and haven't gone back on a diet since. Well 2004 i made a pack with my self to get my drivers license to get my tubes tided, to go back to school get my grade 12 and to join our police department and to get into shape, Well i got my tubes tided, i got my license, i am back in school and now i am finding all the excuses in the world to step on my and do my work out videos, Can anyone suggest a good way to kick my butt into working out i need to get into shape before i apply. I need to lose 80 pounds and really need the support please
Regarding the question on at what time do you work out: for me it is first thing in the morning. Rol out of bed..., put on work out clothes and excercise. i have my stuff right in the bedroom. I have the feeling if I let 1 thing come between it, I will not do the workout. So for me I really have to do as soon as I get up, no breakfast, no travelling nothing to get in the way to put the workout to 2nd place.
DH and I get to the gym at 8:30am and work out until 9:30 or 9:45am. Mornings work best for both of us. I love feeling that no matter what happens the rest of the day, I got one good thing accomplished.
