Default Just Chat - Thursday, October 16

Good morning! What a difference a good night's sleep can make. I did sneak in a nap yesterday morning but felt kwabby most of the day. I think the dark, windy, gloomy day affected me. I need to focus on brightening my outlook on days like that.

The sun is back and the dump has now been open for 20 minutes so I'd better get rolling! It will be mud city there this morning so it will definitely be a ducky boot morning. Most of the guys there wear steel-toed Kodiaks but I don't think my psyche is ready for those yet although they'd be a good feature for splitting wood.

Darn weight is still the same - has been since last Saturday morning - and I know why! Too much red wine and the odd jujube. I'm currently kicking my own butt. (Hmmm...I wonder if steel-toed Kodiaks would be an ***et there. )

Justjen - did you get the shopping done? How was Day 1?

Ellis - I hope today is better for you. Tell your Mum to get on your case about exercising - and on mine too!

Dentrassi - How did the parent teacher conference go? And did you DO some work yesterday?

Sflake -

I am off to Massachusettes for a big corp. meeting.
I'm impressed but I'm sure a cooking class would be more interesting. Want me to send you my power suits?

Little Chick - I wish you could cozy up with a book, a blankie and some tea too! Hey, you have lost 24 pounds in a month! Congratulations.

Whimsey - Are you hoping for an early frost? I can send you the one we had last week that creamed my basil.

Rowan - 20 years, eh. SH#1 and I would have been 43 years last April and I have no regrets. "happily divorced" - what a good phrase!

Lizzie - what the heck are park ladies? Anyhow, the luncheon sounds enjoyable and good for you in your choices. Now, don't start downplaying the Florida weather - cooler, she says - 'cuz a group of us are coming to camp in your house for January and February!

Toobig - I hope the wind wasn't too bad in your area and your cars are OK. We just had a "widowmaker" cut a few weeks ago and I sure was glad when the wind came charging through yesterday! By the way, the weird feeling is from your body de-toxing. Don't forget you CAN have carbs on SBD - check out lentils and kidney beans or roasted chickpeas!

Mz24 - New furniture! That makes such a big difference in your work attitude, doesn't it? Sometimes it's better than a raise.

So....what's happening with you today?

Morning Girls

Ruth~Autually a cooking class would have been more productive Thanks for the power suit offer but I already have a ton in various sizes.

Ellis~No they are not blood sucking, A very nice family owned & operated Company with 5 locations throughout New England. The really do treat all their employees very nicely. I am fortunate that I have such a good & flexable job.

After the Meeting we did the usual dinner. I had fish & was very good until the roasted red potato's come out, drat. Then we all went to a casino (which I have never been to) And played games that I have never played. Beginners luck as I won $350.00 and had no idea what I was doing but it was quite fun.

Today I have the day off as it was a very late evening. I have the house to myself and I am going to take advantage of it it and take it easy all day & read.

Franny ~ don't forget the 17th is D - Day

Have a sparkling day and to everyone I have missed.

Good morning....
boy ruth you did have a burst of energy, thanks for the detailed post, you got everyone!!!your so sweet.

I ended up e-mailing the ex-hubby....he is the sound man for The Doors, and is on tour right now in Atlanta, where my best friend lives. He e-mailed me back and we had a good laugh and I got to smile, I really realized that the wedding itself was such a marker in my life, and the moment where my dad and I danced the Barbara Ann Polka was one of the most favorite moments in my life....I also realized how much I miss my dad, the 22nd will be 7 months since he passed and I still cry at least 5 times a week and think of him just as much now as when he was alive...

I have a very busy few days with the big meeting this weekend, so I do my best to post.....if not have a wonderful weekend beauties....I will think of you over the weekend!!!

Good afternoon,
Day three and I am still going strong. I was a little worried about breakfast since this was my first day at work (I have rotating days off, today is my Monday) but I did good, took a V-8, string cheese and some almonds, had celery sticks for snack instead of the usual candy bar! I was feeling weak and dizzy on my way home, stopped for chicken nuggets at McDonalds. I know this was a no-no but I really was getting sick and still had 1/2 hour before the safety of my own kitchen. I tried to make the most sensible choice for car- food. I am not feeling well, I think I am getting a sinus infection and I pulled a muscle in my neck helping my husband hang vinyl siding yesterday. Hopefully the Tylenol and heating pad will help.
The tree is still standing and the winds have calmed but it's still COLD and getting worse.

Ruthxxx--What are you doing in a dump?????? Glad you got a nap, there isn't anything better.

Motts--good job with the walking this morning, what an inspiration to see you did it while not feeling well.

sflake--how about rubbing some of that good luck on me?

rb--I am sorry about your father, he is still with you in spirit. I too have had a few loved ones pass in the last few years. Thankfully I still have my parents but did lose a very dear friend and grandparents. I nearly lost my husband and two of my children in a car accident last August, I still cry almost everyday because of it. Sometimes tears of joy for still having them and other times tears for what was lost...my husbands job, his physical strength and my sense of security. Things can change in a blink of an eye. I am sending you a hug!

Hello to everyone else, have a great evening!

How did I miss this? Is it still Thursday? And why the heck is there a big chunk of advertising down the side of my Fatchicks screen?

Ruth, you're awful damned cheery. What the heck's got into you? Have you been drinking before breakfast again?

Have you ever had a headache from eating too much? I think that's what I've got right now. There's no more room in my stomach, and the crepes are trying to get out the top of my head.

Sflake, did you have a cozy day? Reading... ah, how delightful! So glad to hear that you work for a politically correct corp.

Rowan, you're really missing your Dad a lot, aren't you. I'm so glad you have good memories of being with him. I always pity people who have no regrets at losing a parent... you're very blessed. love and hugs...

Toobig, you are a whirlwind, girl! You need a little holiday. Everyone can come to my house, and we'll order in masseuses, Tylenol, and spring rolls.
What a terrible thing to have happen to you... thank god you've still got your family. I'll being saying prayers for you...

I'm crabby as old heck, depressed, and today I ate the WHOLE house! Well, at least there won't be anything left tomorrow. It's gone. All GONE!

No matter... life is good, God is good. And enough mush... Ruth will whip me.

Hi all: Time for a glass of wine and piano music Ruth.
by the way 'park ladies' I live in a retirement park and thata was just my way of saying the ladies who are residents, and choose to go out to lunch together on the 3rd Wed. of each month. Nothing more exciting than than.

Hope everyone has had a good day.

Ellis sorry you are down and crabby. You will have to plan on the florida campout in Feb. we have floor matresses, and room to have lots of fun to gether. Otherwise we will have to send you a dose of joy pills.

Rowan: It is good that you have such good memories of your Dad to keep you sustained through this time of grieving.

Have a good day tomorrow, as I probably won't get to check in too early. We have an Octoberfest dinner and entertainment in our Club house tomorrow night. Bratwurst and sauerkraut. Lizzie
