Good morning ladies,

Ruth - I think you are doing pretty darn well with the weight loss yourself! Also, thanks for the camera info.

Carree - how do you like The Firm tapes?

Kaycee - {{{HUGS}}}} so sorry about your brother and also about the fire. I lost one of my sisters to cancer 16 years ago and still miss her terribly. My DD lives on our ground, very close, in mil's old house. I think they may stay there and fix it up. I just LOVE having them that close. I do WATP and really like it. The leader is niether young nor especially thin.

Angie - It will be so nice to have a house the way you want it! When will you begin?

Hi also to Kat, Elle and Mel

I forgot who asked, but I have lost 22 1/2 pounds since May 24th. on WW.

CHECK OUT THE NEW ICONS....

Some of them are really cute!

TTFN,
Jana

Default Morning All!

Thanks Jana. It seems to get a little easier with time... not better... just a little more peace of mind.

I love living next door to my parents. We do stuff together all the time. I have lived on these 40 acres for 36 years. Don't know what I would do if I had to move.

Well, I stuck with the 22 points yesterday, so I am going to have to eat a little more today. My goal is gonna be 26. I am gonna put my SHD on Saturday. I am also gonna check out the WATP video at Wal-Mart. My day is gonna be pretty full so I think I can stay out of the refrigerator. I have to go turn in a bill for the concrete business. While I am in town, I am gonna check out the clearance racks for school clothes. Why do they always have the winter clothes out at the beginning of school? Our kids here can wear shorts for at least 2 more months after that! Then I absolutely HAVE to clean house and tackle Mount Washmore. How on earth 2 adults and 2 kids can make such a mountain of laundry in such a short time is completely beyond me!

Well, I am off to eat some oatmeal and drink a pot of coffee! I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Oh Yeah! Can you believe DH went to work and didn't whine?

That's a fantastic weight loss, Jana! Congrats!

What the heck...

Im gone for one day and its a virtual post-a-thon here.
We were offline for all most of yesterday, and all of last night. The hubby is trying to install windows xp. SO if you dont see me for a while that means he's having a hard time, or he's thrown the computer out the window.

I was up and at the gym by 7am this morning. I love thats its out of the way, and I have the whole day to myself. The good news is...Im down 2 lbs! After a week of maintaining..and slacking, I am quite pleased with myself. Thats a 2lb reason to keep it up!

I was gonna go back and reply to each individual post. But quite honestly I am far too lazy..lol
So once again its a great big for everyone.
I love how busy this thread has become. It must be wonderful for all the ladies who've been here from the beginning.

Anyway..I have a mount washmore (hilarious Kaycee!) of my own to tackle. And holes to fill in in the yard. Seems the new puppy likes to dig. Thats why we got her...to keep the first one busy so she wouldnt dig.

Ill be back later, after I catch myself up on the thread.

Have a sunny day everyone!

Michelle

Good arfternno everyone!!!!!!!!!!

HELP, I need advice! I told you all yesterday that I got hired at LJS and I start this coming Monday, well, I just got a call from General Mills to come in a week from tomorrow to take their aptitude test. I'm sure I can pass the test since it's basically just to see if you can read, write and do simple math, but I'm not sure if they call you in to do the test and you pass you are hired right away or not. My question is........... Do I go ahead and start at LJS and then quit if I get the job at General MIlls that I really want or do I just call LJS and tell them that something has come up and I can't work for them?

I started working out again this morning, hopefully I can get out of this funk I 've been in and get back OP. Hubby and I have still been walking every night, we walk 3-5 miles every evening but it doesn't seem to do much good without gym workout every morning.

Is anyone interested in starting a book exchange program in our little group? It seems that we all have about the same taste in reading, this way we would be able to read new books without the expence of buying them. Just an idea

I got the house all cleaned this morning, thankfully, even thoght we live in a big house it doesn't take long since we have no kids and we both pick up after ourselves.

Kaycee, sorry to hear about yor brother, I know it'shard when you lose someone that close to you.I really feel for your neice, I can't imagine how hard it would be to grow up without a father. My father passed away 3 years ago, it's hard for me to be without him, and I'm 37!

Jana, I don't know if I could stand to live that close to my mother or not and I know I couldn't live that close to my MIL. If we lived that close to her you just moight find bodies buried on the property! LOL! Now, if it was just my FIL, I could deal with that, good thing since he's coming to live with us, huh?

I better get off here, I need to go out and see if any veggies need picked from our garden.

Ta ta, Mel

Hello oh jaded ones,

Kayecee - our Super Walmart has been out of the regular WATP, but they have the Abs one... since my booty is my biggest problem area (literally!!) I went to Evansville and got the regular WATP CD's there... wise investment, no matter which you get. Btw, what is the SHD you are going to put on Saturday? Slinky House Dress? Savage Hound Dog? Saggy Hot Diaper? I'm lookin for a clue...

Michelle - I've got windows xp and love it! If you totally crash a program, you can go back to a previous date and redeem yourself. I've had to do that more than once. WAY TO GO ON THE 2 POUNDS DOWN!!! That is equal to 8 sticks of butter!

Mel - Since you asked, and as a former Personnel Director, I think you should go ahead and start at LJS. First because General Mills may not hire you yet, and also because a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush. I'm sure that wherever your next job is, they will allow you to give at least a little notice to LJS. Regarding my mil - we moved out here to the country to take care of her - she has Alzheimers disease. For one year we lived close by, for the next year we lived with her, because she was a danger to herself. Then last October, we put her in a nursing home. A very hard thing to do!! We are dividing up the land out here among the 3 kids, and our son will be building a house soon. He will be down the road a bit. Not too close.

Well, better close for now, be good!

Good evening! How did the day go for everyone? So-so for me. I bought the WATP tapes and plan on doing it after everyone is safely in bed. But, pleeeeeez don't ask me about points! I had to wait around town for a few hours with the kids to pick up DH's check. It was completely unexpected and I was not prepared. The kids were ravenous- ok, maybe they weren't the only ones - so I caved and took them somewhere to eat. The town I was in is not known for clean restaurants, so we went to a mexican place I trust. (I am sorry but I can not stand a nasty restaurant!!!!) I went over some on the points for the day BUT at the restaurant:

1. I drank water instead of coke
2. I didn't eat the cheese dip
3. I didn't eat the spanish rice
4. I ordered chicken fajitas and only ate half
5. I did not order dessert

Believe it or not, accomplishing those 5 things is a MAJOR step. Last week, I would have scarfed down something swimming in grease and washed it all down with a couple (or three- or four ) cokes and relished in a dessert. Sooooo, even though I went over, I am gonna count it as my super high day and pat myself on the back for the restraint I did show. I figure if I make a few changes at a time, I can finally get the hang of this.

Mel- Thanks for the kind words. My DH was only 5 when his dad died and I can really tell that it bothers him that he doesn't have many memories of him. My niece was 5 when my baby bro died, and I hope that she won't struggle with the same feelings as my DH.

As for your job problem- how badly do you need the money? If you are like us, you really need the cash to pay bills. In that case, I say you need to take care of your family. If you think that the GM job will be more stable with more benefits, work the other until you get hired. I hate to say that because I firmly believe that you reap what you sow, BUT if you turn down this first job, then don't get hired at the second, you may have cheated your family out of needed income. In this economy, you need all of the pennies you can get. On the other hand, if money is not a big issue, wait out for the one you really want. One of my friends who just got her teaching license did this- she turned down 2 job offers before she finally landed the one she really wanted at our school. I firmly believe in prayer- if you do too, just ask and I think the answer will be revealed.

Michelle- Congrats on the weight loss! And I am glad that you liked Mount Washmore. (uh... think I stole... er... borrowed that from another site )

Well, gotta go WATP. Later!

Jana- Guess we were posting at the same time. SHD is definitely slinky house dress! No, it's actually Super High Day over on the Wendy site.

I got the abs WATP because they are out of the regular series here too. I can relate to the big booty. I have always said if I could shift my butt north, I would look like Dolly Parton! If I like this series, I will probably buy the other if I can find it. After reading the flabby skin threads, I have decided that I definitely need the exercise. Later gang!

I'm new here, and I'm just learning how to use this message board. I could use a little help. It all looks confusing, but I'm willing to learn new things. Anyone willing to guide me along?

It looks like you are doing fine! You have your avatar and everything! It took me a while to figure out everything, but it's basically self-explanatory. Is there anything in particular you want to know? Feel free to ask. Good luck!

Thanks for the confidence. I've been checking out the message board and I've noticed many people have become close friends. That is so wonderful. I'm not really sure what to post, but as time goes on, I'm sure I'll figure it out. Just knowing that there is a place for support is so encouraging to me.
I've been working on my weight for quite awhile and it can become so frustrating doing it alone,, I always welcome support and friends and so on. At my last job I joined a support group and truly enjoyed it, then the company closed it doors in April.
So, I have been looking around for something like this.
I'm hoping in the future to get to know more people and share experiences, tips and so on.
Thanks again for the encouragement.

There are different threads to post at. There are places for people of certain ages or weights, ones getting gastric bypass surgery, ones for low-carb, sugar busters, weight watchers, atkins, and so on. I lurked for a while before I settled in with the Jaded Ladies (although I post anywhere I feel like). That's the nice thing about this place- something for everyone. Feel free to join in anywhere! And good luck!

Morning ladies, how is everyone?

Welcome M.N.J., we hope you like it here. The support here can be amazing. I've been posting for 3 years now, still haven't managed to get the weight off, but knowing that I have caring friends to confide in really keeps me trying. Sometimes I'll go awol for a bit, but with time, I always come back and try again.

JANA, hope the info on the cameras helped. Have you heard from Kat lately. I guess she is busy with school and the kids.

KAYECEE, sorry that you lost your brother. Sounds like the two of you were very close. The fire must have been terrifying. I'm glad the fireman tried to save some of the sentimental stuff. If something ever happened and I lost my photos I'd be really upset. Of course, no one getting hurt in the fire is what really counts.

Well, I better run, I'll talk to you guys later.

Morning All! Hope everyone is doing well. I have my meals planned out for the day, so I hope everything goes more smoothly than yesterday.

I don't have any errands to run today, so I am gonna clean house. I have a few more areas to organize before school starts (in four weeks ) Our gas company sent out a guy to paint the gas tanks in our area, so I have an evil plan. When DH gets home, I am gonna do like the woman in the Jello commercial and sprinkle my face with water and flour so I will look like I have been REALLY industrious. Then I am gonna tell him that I worked soooo hard today that I even wound up painting the gas tank!!! I wonder how long he will believe it!

Ruth- thanks for the support- luckily, copies of my most cherished photos were all in one place!

Well, enough of my meaness! Have a good day!

Good morning all,

Kayecee - YAY for your NSV - you did great in the restaurant. Baby steps is what it's all about. Glad to know what a SHD is!! Mine is Sunday, after wiegh in. I sort of follow then Wendy plan, too, with some personal modifications.

MNJ - Welcome!!! Just jump in anytime and tell us about yourself, and/or comment on what the others have said. We are a super friendly bunch with no competition and no finger-pointing. It goes without saying that we all have low days and then high days - better known as reality.

Ruth - Thanks for the camera info - it was helpful. Yes, the support here IS amazing! Kat has been on vacation and hasn't been posting much since she got back. Wish she would!!

Did you hear that, KAT??

Hi to the others, too.

I have been staying in as much as possible since I don't do heat and humidity. Yuck.... I go from the a/c house to the a/c car to a/c Wal-mart. I know I am a BIG BABY!!

I;m curious about something..school starts here in less than 4 weeks - Aug. 12. How does that measure up to the rest of the nation?

TTFN,
Jana
