Agree with amandie and KindaSortaAthlete!
I run just after waking up, Iīve discovered that when I donīt do it right away I start making excuses and other plans get in the way of my running, so if I wake up and go right away I donīt have time to let excuses or other things get in the way!
You have to do what is right for you. If doing it at night is best then do that! I exercise first thing in the morning. There are several reasons for this. First, I'm a morning person and I love the early morning light when I'm out. The day is just beginning, the only people who are out are other motivated fitness people like me, and it's not too hot. Secondly, I get it out of the way - it energizes me and gives me the confidence to keep having a great healthy day. Also, I've noticed that if I work out in the evenings I can't fall asleep easily as much muscles are still twitchy.
I saw the biggest fat loss when I did both! I powerwalked a couple of miles in the morning fasted and again for a couple of miles a few hours after my last meal helped the inches fly off of me.
I agree with the advice of whenever above. I'd like to add though that I've read that if you workout before breakfast, you actually burn 20% more fat. I don't always stick to this but I sure do try. I'm not sure if it's accurate or not, but I figure it's worth it since I don't like to eat right when I wake up anyway.
I personally like to get my walk in when I wake up, then if I can try to get one in later in the day. I like entering in before I eat the exercise and seeing a negative figure. But agree whenever you can get it in to do it because something is better than nothing.
Obviously, whatever time works. But, if you are walking outside at this time of year; I would think early morning or just before sundown because you probably don't want to do it in the heat of the day.

I walk in the morning and at night, and I can say there is no difference. I do sometimes use morning walks to wake myself up if I had a bad night sleep, it works wonders. I used to walk around when I had double shifts in security, after hour 12 with 4 more to go I would get a little loopy from lack of sleep and I would go out and walk around the building to wake up.
