Default Hey!!

Hi all! I'm looking for some major support. I am currently 180 lbs... My highest weight of my life. I LOVE cooking, and mainly eat healthy, but sont exercise that much. The other night I noticed I'm starting to get stretch marks on my hip. All I could do is cry. I decided right then I need to change. I want my husband to show me off. I want to be on the best shape of my life at age 25. I want this to be my year. I don't know how I could let myself go like this. I've always been curvy (my husband loves my curves), but I'm feeling less like a coke bottle and more lumpy. I want to be able to go clothes shopping without crying I'm the dressing room. Hubby is in the military, so he's out of the country a lot (& also in amazing physical shape =\). I guess that's why I came here... For support. My goal is to lose 50lbs by November (our friends' wedding). I know it may not be doable. I just want to be able to look at myself in the mirror again. I haven't changed in front of my husband in months. Please help!

Hi,

Thanks for taking a minute to say hello to me. I'm going to try to be here every morning before I go to work. I work evenings so I'll most likely check back after work as well knowing me...lol. Good luck with your goals and don't worry so much about any stretch marks (when you have a baby you'll get them as well, you can get Vitamin # creams I think to help with them). Besides if your husband doesn't love you because of a simple stretch mark you have to question his love in the first place in my humble opinion. I know that's hard to comprehend when you are your age, but by the time you reach my age you realize it's not the physical that keeps us together, it might be the lure, but it's the inside that holds on.

Thanks!!

Michelle

Hi Tulip. Good for you for getting started! Do you know what your plan is? There are many ways to go. I count calories myself and since I only walk for exercise I stick to about 1300. 50lbs by November is lofty but you can certainly be looking and feeling better by then. I started with 6lbs coming off easily then 2lbs a week then it slowed down some more but again I am not very active so you may be able to do better. You can do this! Many of us here use the My Fitness Pal app to track our food and exercise so if you want, check that out. Welcome to 3FC!

I remember when the stretch marks on my stomach started to show. I was devastated too. We will do our best to support you in our journey! There are recipes in the diet plan forums that you might like to take a look at and sink your teeth into.

I calculated this to mean you'll need to lose 7lbs per month to meet this goal. However, if you lose 4lbs per month on average, you'll lose roughly 28lbs by November, making it more than half. Just remember to pace yourself and know that the weight will come off.

I love My Fitness Pal! It's so easy to use and great motivation (especially when it says you haven't logged in for X amount of days)! I usually eat about 1200 cals a day when im not working out. I'm starting to use the elliptical and Jillian Michaels/Blogilates workout videos. If I lose 2lbs a week (praying!!) I'll hit my goal. Unfortunately I know with my body this isn't likely, since my body likes to plateau. But I'm going to try intervals, working out and eating (1200 calls every other day and the days in between 1400) to hopefully shock my system. I'm just determined to be in the best shape of my life (healthily) this year! Thanks for all the love and support guys! I know I definitely need it! <3
