Default 40 and Confused

Hi, I am new here and in need of support, motivation, and ideas. I gained 32lbs last year and I am really starting to feel the effects of being this heavy. I dont understand this because I was over weight anyway and the weight did not interfere with my life before I gained the 32lbs.

I use to lose weight as fast as I could blink, but this time I am really struggling. I know losing weight is not easy, but I am having a hard time. I turned 40 two months ago, could that be a factor? ANY ADVICE?

Welcome! I am sure you have heard the old saying "when you turn 40 things start to break" Well it is so true. I will soon be 44 and in the last 3 years my body has gone through so many changes and reacts to food and dieting totally different than it ever did before. Weight comes on much faster and off much slower. You are in a good place though... There is alot of support on this site. Good Luck to you!!!

Welcome, Sweettay! I'm 44 now and noticed a HUGE difference when I turned 40. What used to work no longer did. I had to work so much harder. And it's not going to get any easier.

Join us on the 40-somethings board..lots of active threads and lots of great people facing the same challenges. It can be done!!

Hello and Good that you are getting started now! I am 65 and trust me, it does get waaaay harder.. but it can still be done! You've come to a great place for support and encouragement.

What type of eating and exercise plan are you on?
