I have such an urge to binge today. I just feel like I want to eat everything. I was on plan for breakfast, this is good! Now I am getting ready for a lunchtime binge. I took a variety of frozen veggies out of the freezer, and weighed it all as I poured it in the pan. The pan is absolutely full. The combined weight of these vegetables is 815 grams.
That is 1.7 lb of food!
I am going to toss some garlic, chili, and salt on there once it's cooked and eat my fill. Heck, I'm going to cover it in salsa too! In total, 1 cup of salsa included, it adds up to only 297 calories! I'll take it! I love binging on veggies!
Edit: I ate about 1/3 of it and now I'm toooo stuffed! This is a lot of food. I'm going to munch on the rest the rest of the day.

I have had that compulsion many times before, like I was going to eat everything in sight. I didn't deal with my urges as effectively as you have however, I got into the habit of giving in.
You should be very proud of yourself, controlling the binging with veggies instead of junk.
I've been back at my weight loss effort for a little over 2 weeks now. It's hard, but I'm doing okay. I've binged a few times, the last couple days included, but I've caught myself before it's gotten too out of control and at least I didn't eat over maintenance calories. Today I told myself if I feel the uncontrollable urge to eat I have to make it something that's good for me. So far I've done good.
Drats, you guys are making me feel like buying bell peppers and throwing in some nice colourful meal now. Well at least I know what I'll cook tomorrow evening after I buy the groceries!
On a sidenote, I used to hate vegetables with a passion... now I love them. Maybe doing a 180 will be possible for you too?
I pick veggies that I like and mix them in when some I don't like so much. I love broccoli and okra, and mix with green beans (hate them) and it makes it okay.
See, my mom told me the same thing, that she didn't like them when she was my age, but she developed a taste for them later on, so I probably will too. I don't think they taste bad I guess, I'm just kinda creeped out about plants in general. I don't mind if there's a little bit of veggie in a meal, but... meh.
Also, I have tried this zucchini my mom makes, and I liked it for a few days and then didn't. Green bean casserole is okay too I guess. I tried asparagus last summer and it was grooooss.
Haha, thanks for clearing that up! I love roasting stuff.. so good.
Everlasting Why do you eat green beans if you hate them?
Good job filling up on vegetables and not binging on something crazier! I binged on gherkins once when I was drinking.
Oh man, okay now that is one thing I love, PICKLES. Dill pickles, I can eat a whole jar in a week.
The only time I've had green beans that I really enjoyed was at a dinner party. She wrapped them in bacon and sprinkled a tiny bit of brown sugar on them. It was freaking DELICIOUS.
I guess I just don't like vegetables in general and I actually have to remind myself to buy them, otherwise I wouldn't eat them.
Hm, I wish I had good advice to give regarding "learning to love vegetables". I did it the harsh way, white-knuckling myself until I managed to rewire my brain processes from "don't like" (particularly "don't know so don't like", which was my 3-year-old inner brat talking, really) to "love", but I honestly have no recollection of how I did it. I mean I only used herbs and spices with my veggies, or sometimes mixed them with pasta or rice. But no miracle tips here. Besides, if this was some miracle recipe (ha, ha), everybody would know it by now, right?
Maybe stick to theveggies you like by now, even if they are few, and even if you have to roast them and can't eat them in various ways? It's still better than nothing, after all. And we have to make it pleasant and tasty, otherwise there's no way we can stick to it for the rest of our lives! ^^;
