Oh yes, I have changed a lot for the better; I am making much better choices these days. I too have learned to slow down and not eat so fast. This has helped my "you feel full now" signals kick in, so I don't want to eat more than I should.
I have changed the plate size we use and now we feel full with a much smaller amount of food. Like tonight, we used 7" plates for our dinner, and were quite satisfied. We often use bowls too; and it has had the same effect.
Your stomach can be trained to eat less; it just takes time.
I'm also able to get back on track sooner after a slip; I forgive myself and just keep going, no matter what. That goes for holidays or vacation days too. I have really noticed a significant difference over time.
