Default 15 pounds lost-did you notice ANY difference then?

I was pleasantly surprised to see this week that I'm now 15 pounds down. At my size, 15 pounds off will not be visible, but I did notice that I could bend down further when I was cleaning the base of the toilet this week. That's a funny thing to notice, I know.

Anyway, I'm excited and eagerly looking forward to being able to do more things easier as I go along.

Did any of you notice anything different with the loss of just 15 pounds, or somewhere in that range?

I wonder what will change at 20 pounds off...25...30...?

I can't answer your question directly, but maybe this will get you even more excited about what lays in store for you. You've heard of the paper towel roll analogy? Think of how when you peel off those first few sheets of the roll, it seems just as wide as ever. Then think about how much different it is when you get down to the end of the roll; the shrinking width of those last few sheets is MUCH more visible as you tear them off. But, the size of the sheets at the beginning and end were the same...

The sheets are like pounds, of course. So even if there's not a very big visible difference yet for you, the further down into the 'paper towel roll' you go, the more each pound will eventually become apparent.

I didn't really notice too much of a difference until I compared two pictures of myself from before and after I lost the 15 lbs. I guess I'm so used to seeing myself everyday that my self image adjusts to gradual changes.

My clothes definitely started fitting better, though!

I didn't notice a real change until 20 lbs lost. But it's worth the wait!

Congrats on your changes

I saw small changes around then. Just now after 25 pounds I'm able to cross my legs sometimes (on couches and stuff, not in regular chairs), and I feel slightly less...overinflated. Last time around when I got to about 250, so about 50 pounds gone, I noticed more changes like it being easier to tie shoes and fit in booths. So I guess for me 25-pound increments are what I notice.

Congrats on 15 lbs!!!

I didn't notice any huge changes in my appearance, but I did notice quite a few differences in how I felt. More energy, moving faster, and my overall confidence improved! For appearance differences, 20 lbs. was when I started noticing a difference in my face and my clothes started feeling looser! You're doing great, keep at it!!!

I ha a higher starting weight and the difference I noticed after 15 lbs was in my clothes. I had jeans that were in danger of ripping every time i sat down and after 15 lbs, they were just tight.

I also just felt better.

It was really after the 35 lb mark that I noticed things like my center console lid in my car didn't hit my fat roll when I opened it. People started noticing the weight loss around that time too.

I'm right at 15 too! I have been told that you can see a change in my face and torso area, though I'm still in the same size and probably will be for a while. It really is exciting to notice tangible results! Keep up the good work!

What a great thought! Thanks so much.

I also didn't notice a diff until I put my starting-weight pic and my current pic together in Photoshop...and then I was like "ohholycrap" LOL. Can't wait for 25lbs lost

Yes! That thing you mentioned about being able to bend down easier? That happened to me at around 15 lbs lost. At my highest weight, every time I'd bend down I'd feel this kind of pressure around my middle -- I just kept ignoring it, but I think it was my body telling me my stomach was getting in the way!

Congrats! Have you taken before and after pictures? I take before and afters every five or so pounds, and when I'm feeling down, I compare my newest set of pics to the first set of pics, when I was 307. It works!

I believe I felt less "stuffed" with the first 15-25# off... but it honestly took a while to others began saying they could tell a difference in my appearance. I'd say most people start get comments from others who don't KNOW you are trying to lose weight, once you've lost anywhere from 5%-10%of your starting weight. You're doing GREAT, keep it up!!

ive lost 36 pounds so far, and i really dont see a difference yet. i can feel a difference in my stomach and legs though, i went to try on my favorite outfit from about 275 pounds, and the shirt actually fit. its not a stretchy shirt either! i dont think i will see much of a difference until i hit about 260

I don't attribute the differences I notice to weight lost (around 30lbs) though its due to increased fitness. I do more, so then I can do more and more, I'm not losing a ton of weight, or even a ton of fat. But strengthening up existing muscle building up endurance, I feel like the fitness while affected by the weight I carry is for the most part has been an independant process for me.

I love it and I feel more capable , if I measured my progress only in lbs I'd be very sad. I don't really look much different than 30 lbs ago but I FEEL miles different than 2 years ago because of my activity levels.
