Talking Foods that you LOVE

Hi all! What are your absolutely favorite (diet) foods? Foods that you would crave whether or not you are counting calories? One of mine? Stuffed bell peppers! Bell peppers stuffed with ground beef, spices, a little rice, in a nice tomato sauce. I've made them on my own, and I've had the prepared ones from Trader Joes - one portion is about 200 cals (as I recall). Also, I haven't tried it yet, but Stoffer's has them in the frozen isle for 180 cals a serving. I'll be trying those this week.

So, what do you all love to chomp on?

Yum, free1! Great idea! I love chicken salad, but I always shy away due to the mayo - now I'll be trying greek yogurt!

Except for cheesecake, I never was a huge dessert fan. And I never found a diet cheesecake or cheesecake substitute until very recently.

I stir sugar free pudding mix (so far, I've tried pistachio, chocolate, vanilla and chocolate fudge) into greek yogurt. And sometimes stir in a bit of coconut milk and/or sweetener (some store brands of sf pudding aren't as sweet as Jello brand or have a bitter note that a tsp of Splenda balances).

For 105 - 150 calories, I get something that tastes and feels like cheesecake. I love it so much that I don't think I'll ever feel the need for "real" cheesecake.

I either stir a package of pudding mix into 2 cups of greek yogurt, or I buy the 5 ounce individual greek yogurts and stir in 1/4 of a package of pudding mix (usually 8 grams).

Awesome!

BACON. Oh my god. I went for years eating turkey bacon instead and I had sort of forgotten how AMAZING bacon is! I eat it pretty much every day now. I put it in a tortilla with cheddar for a "breakfast quesadilla," tear it up and add it to salads (with Ranch dressing, of course - how did I never realize how good bacon+Ranch is??), or eat it in a BLAT(-L) wrap.

I love pasta. I have it as often on this diet as I would off, but I have a smaller portion, or I prepare for more.

This time around, I don't think I could "live without" greek yogurt. I had never tried it until now and that stuff is amazing. So versatile.

@Kaplods--have you tried the no-bake cheesecake at skinnytaste.com? Its quite fabulous.

Some pricey foods I love that are diet friendly include shrimp, portobello mushrooms, artichoke hearts, venison, fresh raspberries, mesclun mix, and sashimi. I am happy to eat these whether I am counting calories or not.

Thanks for the tip, I hadn't heard of the site, and I've added it to my favorites.

I'm with chicksinger, I love pasta - but since starting counting calories I've switched to whole wheat and just eat smaller, sensible portions. Also, since it's chuck full of carbs, I tend to eat it earlier in the day (think breakfast) so that I don't stuff myself with it right before going to bed like I used to!

Pretty much any veggie that is roasted in the oven. The oven brings out a rich, savory flavor.

Yum! Hey, those of you that love pasta - have you tried the "guilt-less" frozen meals from Trader Joe's? The ziti in red sauce is pretty good, but the mac and cheese is RAD! It is so super good! They use real-deal products, and it is only 270 cals!
