  • As of last night, spaghetti squash! Wonderful alternative to pasta and you are able to eat a fairly large amount without taking in too many calories.
  • Quote: I cant get enough of a quarkmix i eat (Quark 1% fat + sugarfree juice concentrate in diffrent flavours) Gives 1g fat, 3.5g carbs and 13g protein / 100g and taste like dessert.
    what is Quark?!?!?!? o.O
  • Soup - I love any soup. I also have a not so secret love of sriracha. Combine the two? Heaven.
  • Quote: Except for cheesecake, I never was a huge dessert fan. And I never found a diet cheesecake or cheesecake substitute until very recently.

I stir sugar free pudding mix (so far, I've tried pistachio, chocolate, vanilla and chocolate fudge) into greek yogurt. And sometimes stir in a bit of coconut milk and/or sweetener (some store brands of sf pudding aren't as sweet as Jello brand or have a bitter note that a tsp of Splenda balances).

For 105 - 150 calories, I get something that tastes and feels like cheesecake. I love it so much that I don't think I'll ever feel the need for "real" cheesecake.

I either stir a package of pudding mix into 2 cups of greek yogurt, or I buy the 5 ounce individual greek yogurts and stir in 1/4 of a package of pudding mix (usually 8 grams).

    Awesome!
kaplods, I keep forgetting to tell you that I tried this after you posted it elsewhere on the site and it is FABULOUS and is my dessert/snack almost every day now after dinner! I always use the chocolate fudge and a splash of almond milk, it's perfect! Thank you SO much!

My favorite "diet" food is Quinoa at the moment, I LOVE it! So filling, and I love the mouth feel of it, and the health benefits are great too. I like using it for tabouli!
  • Baked beans! Good anytime :-)
  • Nuts -- My favorite snack.

Grilled vegetables -- I use a marinade and then grill them on the George Foreman grill -- very good

Atkins Oatmeal Cinnamon Baked Square (some people have difficulty with sugar alcohols, but I don't)

    Target's Chicken Caesar Salad
  • sushi
    portobello mushrooms
    tzatziki sauce
pico de gallo (though I don't eat it with tortilla chips anymore, just on taco salad)
oh! thats right! taco salad. OMG yum. Actually, I'm gonna make one now.
  • I'm not too sure about how many "diet" foods I eat...
But my regular diet consists of:
    Fruits, veggies (running low. ICK!)
I love bean and veggie soup.
For desserts: I will try Kaplod's pudding cheesecake. Although as horrible as it sounds, I think I'll take the extra calories and use regular pudding. I'm not a huge fan of SF stuff.
Otherwise, I will have my homemade cookie if I want that or ice cream. I'm conscious of serving size and how many calories I have left to decide on dessert.
Or I have a glass of wine and a piece (or 2) of chocolate for dessert YUM!
For grains I try to do whole wheat or whole grain as much as possible.

Anyway.. I pretty much eat whatever I want as long as it fits within my plan. I eat healthy and I still get to enjoy treats. Quite a few recently and need to cut back, but I'm happy!
  • Love celery! Love all types of vegetables. With my current food life style, it is a good thing!
  • Quote: Soup - I love any soup. I also have a not so secret love of sriracha. Combine the two? Heaven.
I love sriracha! I put it on everything. Seriously.
  • Low cal jelly in pretty glasses that I set fruit into, then a spoon full of fruit flavoured greek yogurt on the top. Pretty, sweet and tasty!
  • I love Kashi Chicken Florentine and would eat it no matter what. That and Natural Peanut Butter w/ Polner All Fruit Jelly (Strawberry) I love it on hot toast.
  • Quote: I love sriracha! I put it on everything. Seriously.
It's awful how much I use, but luckily the state's go-to Asian supermarket is down the street from me and I stock up with 5+ big bottles at a time. The cashiers always look at me funny, but I just say how much I love it.

When I was in early high school I used to make egg sandwiches and dip them in a 1/2 and 1/2 ketchup/sriracha mix. Yum!

This corn chowder recipe is so good, and that cookbook is worth buying. I switch out the heavy cream for evaporated skim milk.
  • Great ideas, all! Yay!!!!
  • Peanut butter for sure!
