I was wondering which low calorie snacks you all eat.. I am a snack girl--
8 reduced fat wheat thins and 100 calorie packet of cheese - 165 calories
18 planters NUTricious mixed nuts - 170 calories
Fiber One brownies - 90 calories
Lowfat yogurt- 80 calories
Also, is anyone drinking SOBE 0 calorie Lifewater?? It is really good. Ive been drinking it alot lately. Its only a $1.00 for a 20 ounce bottle at walmart.
Yum...I love threads like these so I can get snack ideas from other people. I pretty much tend to eat the same thing everyday, so I like seeing variety from others!
Yogurt (80 calories)
Cheese stick (60 or 80 cal depending on the brand)
I'm on lower-calorie snacks generally, though I will have the odd piece of fruit which can take quite a bit of calorie budgeting (yes, bananas, I'm looking at you), or occasionally a more filling snack involving bread or something. Sometimes I have more than one snack at once, e.g. a banana and a piece of chocolate. Also I'm vegan.
Half a cucumber, diced, with a bit of salt and olive oil for dressing - 25
2 rice cakes with a bit of olive oil and salt - 58
2 rice cakes with houmous - 66
3g piece of dark chocolate - 18 (occasionally I go wild and have 5g. I've been on the same bar of 85% chocolate for five weeks now and am very proud of this)
Half a cup of grapes (usually consumed in bed while watching TV with my partner) - 57
100g strawberries (consumed in the same fashion as grapes) - 30
Small banana - 93
Medium apple - 81
Handful of home-grown beansprouts - something ludicrous like 6
Slice of bread with pesto and a tomato - 145
Medium orange - 62
1 tbsp houmous, carrot cut into matchsticks, and 5 snow peas - 54
2 oz edamame beans with salt and a bit of olive oil - 86 (great protein but not wildly filling, that one)
11 almonds (1/2oz) - 82
Clementine - 26
1 slice bread with margarine and Marmite - 120
i always snack on fruits!!!
i noticed that emme suggested yogurt for 80 calories but i eat source yogurt (those little containers) and they only have 35 calories.. MIND YOU, they do not taste as creamy, but i have gotten use to that over these years... lol
i also throw in a handful of cereal like fibre one for some crunch!
One of my favorite snacks lately has been SnackPacks pudding. They are $1 for a pack of four. They have low fat, but I prefer sugar free for calorie reduction, which is 60 calories a pack. They taste good being in the fridge overnight with a little rediwhip. Hope that helps They have sugar free in caramel, vanilla and chocolate at wal mart.
Also special k sour cream and onion chip crackers are so good. You get like 30 chips for 120 calories I believe.
Stop and Shop carries store-brand spring rolls in their frozen food section. The all-veggie ones are 100 calories each. As a caveat, they're smaller than what you might typically get at a chinese restaurant--about 3 inches long and an inch thick.
They're perfect for a between-meal snack for me, because they come out of the microwave piping hot so I have to nibble them! I've also used them as a foundation for a dinnertime meal. Two spring rolls and some more veggies or a protein on the side for a 300-calorie meal.
