Default New Here!

Hello everyone,
Im 26, with PCOS and insulin resistance issues. Need serious weight loss help.. Ive tried everything from dieting to personal trainers and still am about 50 lbs overweight. My major problem is the de-motivation I face after I dont see results. Need help to lose this weight as I want to start concentrating on having a family without needing help with any kind of fertility meds etc.

Its nice to see people come together to help each other out.. I hope this can help me gain the confidence I need to pull myself together and get out of this weight gaining rutt I'm in -

Welcome to 3FC =)

As much as weight loss is nice, and is pretty much the goal most people at 3FC follow, it's really not the only goal. Weight doesn't come off overnight, but the changes we make with what we're eating and our activity levels often show in very short periods of time.

Losing weight with any sort of obstacle (such as PCOS or insulin resistance) can sometimes mean that the pounds don't drop as fast as we'd like. But, it doesn't mean they never drop off, and it doesn't mean that eating well and exercising more do nothing for us.

We cannot choose what the scale will say each week. I've seen plenty of people get frustrated and just up and quit because they don't see xx number of pounds off each week. Did their three months worth of healthy eating and exercise count for nothing? They were feeling more energetic. Their clothes were better fitting. Their health was improving. But because some arbitrary number on the scale didn't show up, they decided they'd failed and just ...stopped trying.

The scale isn't everything. Focus on the things we can control, and the weight will eventually follow. After all, we aren't just going to suddenly stop eating healthfully when the number on the scale does show something we want. We have to continue =)

There's a Dieting with Obstacles section you might be interested in reading through, and a 20-something's area, as well.

Best of wishes to you!
