Ok, so I am currently training for a charity 5k run March 5th. I know, not much time to train.
I'm going off of time on a treadmill right now, and I do know that it's different out on the actual road... But yeah.
Before critiquing my time, let me clarify a couple things first:
I am running and walking, at about a 1 to 2 ratio, the 2 being the time walking.
Walking was always (on the treadmill) at 3 mph.
Running was always 5 mph.
I break out in a major rash and get lightheaded when running... So I had to make sure I did occasionally walk.
I had a big meal 30 minutes beforehand *blushes*
I am a beginner runner.
My time was 38 minutes. If I have a specific time to hit, I'll try to hit it. My goal today was 40 minutes. So yeah, any thoughts on treadmill time to aim for, and since I'm going to practice at least a couple times on a track and a road beforehand, what times should I aim for? Pretty much, any thoughts? I want to be able to run in multiple charity 5k runs... So yeah. I need to have personal goals, but they need to be realistic.
So yeah, any thoughts at all?
ETA: I'm going to be doing weights and once in a while zumba intermixed... Not just running.
