Default I am new here and dont know where to begin

Hello Everyone!

I am new here and I dont really even know where to begin. I guess the first step is admitting I have a problem...I do and its my weight. So let me tell you that I have been overweight for the past 6 years and it is time for a change. However, it seems that I really dont know what to do. I am trying to watch what I eat and sometimes I think it is a lost cause. I am a junk food junkie which I am sure is my major setback. I am really looking for some support as well as some ideas for a diet plan. My big thing is that I am the maid of honor in my best friends wedding in June and would like to lose a BIG CHUNK of my weight by then. Here are my stats I am 5'10 & 226 pounds. Please I need help and would like to have some buddies to make it thru! Thanks you for listening and I am sorry this was so long.

Don't apologize girl!

If junk food is a problem the first thing you must do is get rid of it. Get it out of your house and stop buying it.

Then you must start planning more meals, lots of veggies and protein is what you need to keep you full and from mindless snacking. Also cut out any drinks that aren't water. NO soda! If you eat carbs make sure they are whole grains, like whole wheat bread, whole wheat pasta, etc.

Figure out what you'd like to do also, do you want to count calories or carbs? Or join something like weight watchers?

I know it's a lot to figure out at once but you have to find a plan that you think you can stick to Me personally the first thing I did was stop buying junk food, then I started buying more veggies and cooking more at home. I cut out eating out, I then started researching plans and now I eat a south beach/low carb lifestyle and am VERY happy

Welcome to 3FC! I agree, you gotta get rid of the junk. But you can find good replacements for the things you miss! The whole forum is loaded with ideas to get you through the day. Just jump in ask for help, or contribute what you know to help somebody else out. Having a support group is a big help! You can make a lot of positive changes between now and June.

Thank you ladies for the support I am so glad to be here and I am sure that I will be leaning on you all for the support that I need. It has been a rough week, I have really been trying hard. I eat my three main meals and I have been trying to eat mostly healthy snacks. Sometimes it seems like the harder I try the less effective it is. I guess I shouldnt be so hard on myself this week because it is that time of month for me (TMI sorry) and it seems like during that time I need to just take a vacation from the scale. I want this so bad not only for myself and my health but I have a beautiful 6 year old daughter that I want to have a good body image and I want her to look at me and see her mom be comfortable in her own body so that she wont have to deal with these issues. We all know that society is so hard on girls and the last thing I need is for her to have it at home too! If anyone has food suggestions that have helped you make things easier or just any ideas on what to eat and as far as exercise what are you doing? I have been doing just sweat on Just Dance 2 for about 30 min every other night. It keeps me interested, I thought this was a pretty good option until the warmer weather gets here. Thank you again!

Welcome, Glad to have you join us. My advice is to look for a Support group, Chat, or Challange to join; small groups make it easier to get connected. Most sub-forums have groups covering almost every need, find one that inspires or motivates you and just post to join.
