If junk food is a problem the first thing you must do is get rid of it. Get it out of your house and stop buying it.
Then you must start planning more meals, lots of veggies and protein is what you need to keep you full and from mindless snacking. Also cut out any drinks that aren't water. NO soda! If you eat carbs make sure they are whole grains, like whole wheat bread, whole wheat pasta, etc.
Figure out what you'd like to do also, do you want to count calories or carbs? Or join something like weight watchers?
I know it's a lot to figure out at once but you have to find a plan that you think you can stick to

Me personally the first thing I did was stop buying junk food, then I started buying more veggies and cooking more at home. I cut out eating out, I then started researching plans and now I eat a south beach/low carb lifestyle and am VERY happy
