Default IPhone

Anyone using Iphone apps? I use one and love it. Takes all the thought out of it.

My goal is to stay within my calorie range it gives me- which means around 1200 to 1800 depending on how much I workout.

I have tried other methods, but find calorie counting works best for me because no matter WHAT I am eating, no matter what is going on in my life, I can do this every day.

For instance- today I was stupid and got a medium mocha- 590 calories. But now I just have to have a smaller dinner and no junk in the evening.

It also motivates me in that I can see that if I work out- I "earn" more calories and I find myself thinking through/budgeting what I am eating.

I can also add things in and see how it would change, then try something else to see how different scenarios would work, if that makes sense. I have used fitday online, too, which works just as well, but the Iphone fits in my pocket lol

Yes! I use an iPhone 4 and religiously use Loseit! To count calories, C25k app for the couch to 5k running, and also use the Nike+ on it! It's amazing! I also get on this site slot through my phone. I wish there was a 3FC app!!

Risephoenix~where/how did you get your mocha???? Starbucks venti mocha WITH whipped cream is listed as 450cal. So how was your medium mocha so high? Do you get extra chocolate, use white chocolate or make it with half and half??? I'm just really curious cuz that seems crazy high for a medium (I assume you're talking 16oz drink) cuz I will definitely avoid that place.

Love my apps, Loseit & Nutrition Menu. I like entering data in twice as a check on calorie counts. I then use my calendar, to preplan menus when the upcoming meals will be challenging. No need to go off plan, when I have a good plan in place and easily accessible.

Default My mocha

It was the Mint Condition from Caribou Coffee. I LOOOOOVE them and it was ALMOST worth it. Blows Starbucks away. But then I realized I could have had two eggs, two slices of toast with butter, and a cup of hot tea/hot cocoa for less money & fewer calories!

Most mornings I go to Starbucks (not a fan, but bf is and he's paying lol) and bf developed what we call a "Frugal Mocha." I sent him to get my regular mocha drink one day and he was too cheap, so got me a regular coffee with a shot of the toffee mocha or dark cherry & chocolate flavoring and added some milk, half the price and few calories.

I stayed on track last night, BTW- repented for my mocha with a bowl of chili, a salad, and a bowl of grapes- which really was plenty anyhow.

I have a work party today! I know what will be served- lasagna (one veggie and one meat), a salad, and cake from the world's best bakery.

Luckily I went to gym this am and will be going again later with bf.

I have an iphone 4 too, and I use Livestong, LoseIt! and the Nike+. I also use the ped-o-meter one, and the mapmyrun when I run outside.

I heart my iphone.

I'm a "Nutrition Menu' user, plus use a spreadsheet when at home. Love having the ability to travel and still keep track.

I guess I make my own frugal mochas. It's one cup of trader Joe's peppermint coffee, half cup of plain soymilk and two tablespoons of chocolate syrup. It's just under 150 cal and it makes my house smell like the peppermint coffee.

That sounds yummy tattoodoodles! When I don't go out for coffee, I will mix a cup of homebrewed with a packet of hot cocoa mix for a cheap and delicious mocha.

Theoretically you can do it with sugar-free, but I haven't found one that doesn't taste artificial.

Sometimes I add ground cinnamon to my ground coffee beans. The favor is great. Has anyone ever added vanilla extract or peppermint extract to the ground coffee beans?
