Welcome to you and good for you finding the support that you need.
I will say, that for myself, I have a problem using the word diet. I don't want my kids associating their mom with dieting their "whole" life like I did. So I am seeking a healthy lifestyle. Making healthy choices about what I feed my body. And soon, I will make healthy choices about exercising my body. I want my kids to see that taking care of themselves is a lifetime commitment...not a fad, not a diet, not a short term thing, rather a lifestyle choice.
Once I worked the above out in my head, it was easier for me to wrap my brain around it and has thus far been easier for me to implement, both for myself and my household. My son, as a result has lost 6 pounds and his excited comment to me was: mom, since we've been eating healthier I've lost 6 pounds because I'm feeding my body what it needs...YES! that was success to me. He doesn't feel the stigma of being on a "diet" and he is more willing to try new foods.
Just a thought and an example of a different perspective that has really made a difference for our family. We needed some serious help.
