Default Help from anyone living in or have lived in BC

4 day trip coming up in 17 days (not that I'm counting) but I have no idea what to pack, seriously.

Lots of outdoors, hiking, walking, not really touristy stuff, but the majority of my time will be spent outside.

So what do i pack? Layers, thick sweaters, water proof stuff, shorts, jeans . . . . I'm completely lost.
I asked Shaun (who im visitng) and got told "It's winter pretty much here, so pack for warm, but not prairie warm"

Uhh . . . . yeah, that cleared it right up :P

Any help is much appreciated Thanks!

Um, at first I thought you were coming from the States somewhere but you are a fellow canuck. We have had pretty warm weather here (the Kootenays) lately but it does drop off in temp in the evenings. We've been getting up to 23-24c in the day but down to 5-6c overnight. Just bring layers-not shorts maybe but jeans, khakis, Tshirts, and a couple of jackets that you can layer them.

Hope this helps!!

It's muggy, warm and a bit wet down on the coast. Layers will do with waterproof clothes on top. Have fun!

Depends on where in BC you are going! Layers for sure, cool in the mornings and evenings but still manages to get warm in the afternoon. Waterproof gear is a must too, it is BC after all!

1) a small umbrella that you can bring everywhere with you - stick it in your purse on sunny/cloudy days that don't look like rain because you never know!

2) right now it's quite warm, it was rainy today but I didn't even need to wear my jacket although I bring it everywhere with me. It's actually Lululemon hoodie, so you should be good with that type of jacket, even 17 days from now.

3) cotton scarf. This is great for rainy days that you are just wearing said Lululemon-type hoodie as you will be warm enough in hoodie but even warmer if you have something around your neck (wool scarf not applicable yet!)

4) if you don't have hoodie and have one of those Mountain Equipment type jackets instead (the raincoat type) you will be good with that too. you could wear a long-sleeved shirt underneath.

5) no shorts or bare feet anymore (sadly). I was still wearing capris last week, although I doubt in the next few weeks that can be done anymore.

hope that helps!

Where in BC?? I'm in Vancouver but BC is huge. It's warm and rainy in some places, snow and glaciers in others.
