Thumbs down BFL/BB #66 - C3FC Week 1!!!

Howdy Y'all! I had such a great workout this morning...

I am SO motivated! The only problem right now is that I thought I had a whole extra carton of eggs, I opened it and there are...5. I need 12 eggwhites for Meal 1 - so Jim is getting in the shower and gonna take me to Safeway. We're out of just about everything anyway - including toothpaste!

Mel - what you need to do is email Pam right away. She WILL tweak your menu to suit. When she did my first week, after day 2 I had no energy and I emailed her back - she sent me a new menu with a few more carbs. Tell her you want more veggies. You don't have to use frozen - you can use fresh (personally I prefer frozen since they are already cut and easier to keep on hand).

Also, don't worry about the times on the menus. Here's what Pam told me when I asked her about the timing: "Here's what you do... workout on an empty stomach, wait an hour before eating your first meal. Then each meal after that should be approximately 3 hours apart. If for some reason you are working out later in the day, make sure to have eaten at least 1.5 hours prior to your workout. Then wait an hour after working out for the next meal."

But DO email Pam and let her know your concerns!!! Trust me - she knows what she's doing - she'll be able to explain the reasons for why the menus are the way they are.

How's everyone else doing?? Jim just got out of the shower so we're off to Safeway with my list!!

I'm off and running on C3FC! Unfortunately, my gym is closed today, so I made due with cardio (although, after being out of town for three days, I was really looking forward to lifting again... grr!) Oh well. I woke up later than planned today, so Meal #1 didn't take place until about 11:30am, so I'm slighty adjusting my portions to compensate for only having 5 meals today (a little more protein, and extra veggies), and even then, will need to eat every 2 and a half hours to fit them all in. But overall, I'm feeling good about the next 6 weeks. And the end of this challenge will time out perfectly with the weekend that I'm supposed to meet my boyfriend's family for the first time (yikes!). So that's a little extra incentive to give it my all these next few weeks! Have a great day, guys!

Hello girls,

I'm in a good mood today too!! I also had to do only cardio instead of weights today because the gym opened too late because of the holiday... But I did do a 20K bike ride and I feel good... I'm in the mood for cleaning too... so there's a workout and a half, just carting the vacuum is great for the bis, tris and back... But I still prefer good ole weights...

So far today food is good and clean...

Later all....

Lana...

Hello!!!

I have jello legs and bad bad carb and caffeine withdrawal (bad free week!!) but I'm doing good on Day 1! I got my CPB email this morning bright and early and printed off the workout and hit the gym--chest and quads and I am FEELING it!

I'm happy with my CPB stuff. I hate figuring out zig zagging for myself (but I do do it for my clients), but I know that it works and is effective, so I'm happy to let someone else do it! I love the fact that there's no cottage cheese on the menu for this week and that there's lots of veggies and fish and enough fruit to keep my sweet tooth at bay. The low carb days don't look all that bad, plenty of fats to fill me up. I don't mind the MRPs all that much, I'm starting my pre-school aide job this week so it's convenient for me.

Mrs. Jim--glad that you made it home safe and sound.

Colleen--meeting your BF's parents is such a motivator! Great job on having a good first day.

Mel--I'm sorry you're disappointed. I would definitely email Pam, she will fix what you don't like or explain to you what's confusing.

I am enjoying my Labor Day, even though I did train three clients today. I hate to get my schedule all mixed up, so if they're up for it, so am I! I am putting in an order for some new home equipment for my clients--medicine balls and a body bar. I bought a Bosu (a half gym ball with a solid bottom)--it's pretty cool but hard for beginners to use. But I have the rest of the day free so I'm off to the Super Wal-Mart with my list and then I'm going to the park for my cardio and then relaxing with a good book.

I'll check in later--have a great afternoon!

Morning Ladies! Yesterday went off without a hitch! (Am I using that expression correctly?? Ah well, you know what I mean!) I just got back from the gym. Cardio this morning, and will try to fit weights in tonight (gym doesn't open until 6am, which makes it hard to fit in a weightlifting workout in in the mornings - grrr...) But on a positive note, this is the first morning in 3 weeks that I've managed to make myself get out of bed to go to the gym, so I'm feeling pretty powerful today! Let's hope I can make a habit of it! Just wanted to check in. I'm off to scrounge up some breakfast - have a great day!

Default Day 2

Despite my grumping, day 1 of camp PB went smoothly. Despite getting up at almost 9 am and having to rework the meal schedule a tad, got it all done. Today, so far so good. Got up early again to get in my daily cardio (30 minutes, ugh! I'd gotten to like that 20 MAS or HIIT) and have had breakfast including my first slice of BREAD (can't post that one one L & S!) in 7 months! This feels more like my old ways....

I've emailed Pam for some help in tweaking the schedule and am determined to make this work somehow.

Have a good day everyone!

PS: Today is going better than yesterday, it seems that I was hungry every hour yesterday... I'm not sure why, but I drank water and ate every 2 to 2.5 hours instead.... Today I'm back on track..

Ok now I'm outta here...........

Default I'm a happy camper!

Pam sent me all new menus and a new workout today! Much more to my liking. I felt like I should have been hiding in the closet while eating that bread this morning . I'm going to do the less extreme workout she first sent me for a week or two, then switch back to a new 4 day killer split she also sent me. I think I must be the first to complain to her that there weren't enough vegies and the workout was too easy! LOL I'm pretty obsessive!

Hope everyone's day is going as well as mine...it finally stopped raining here (NO rain all summer, then WHAM 4 days straight) so in addition to my regular cardio, Cleo the wonderdog and I had a good jog around the neighborhood and admired the green grass.

Talking I'm Back

Howdy, everyone! Well, I survived 5 days with my family -- and no homicides to report! (I enjoy visiting my family, but for some reason whenever we "kids" are all together, we sometimes revert to fighting over the remote control, like we did 20 years ago. Grrr.)

I had a mixed BFL experience while there -- on the very, very plus side, I worked out 4 times. Yeah! I belong to a YMCA in Chicago, which generally allows me to visit other Ys nationally for a small (and even sometimes no) fee. I even dragged my family with me 2x. On the negative side, I ate more than I intended to -- anyone ever hear of Omaha Steaks? I ate more red meat in 5 days than I normally do in a month. But, I stayed away from sweets, and only indulged my fat/salt craving 1x (Chex Mix -- yummmm).

But now I'm back, and starting day 1 of C3FC. As with Nebraska, I have a mixed report so far today. Food and water-wise, I'm on track. But, I could NOT get out of bed this morning to do my cardio. As I've already reported, I'm not a morning person normally, and after a long weekend of sleeping in, I don't think a forklift could get me out of bed until the very, very last minute. I was even thinking of skipping the workout entirely, and starting the challenge tomorrow , but after visiting here, I'm re-energized and intend to go to the gym right after work. So, thanks for motivating me!!!

Gotta get back to work now. Keep up the good work, everyone, and see you tomorrow. Mox

Day two is a success!

Today's workout was shoulders, abs and calves and MAN am I feeling my shoulders today. Did my cardio in front of the TV on the elliptical watching a Food Network show...and the chef made these yummy-looking pizzas. Whenever I'm eating really clean, I always have the strangest urges to watch FN...not to eat the stuff, just to watch. Okay, I know I'm strange!

The food is going well. I'm realizing just how "unclean" I've eaten this summer. I'm used to sneaking in some ww pasta a couple of times a week and maybe a slice of bread or ww tortillas and having pretty equal carbs and proteins. Today was a low-carb day and I'm definitely a bit on the low side. Not miserable, just going through those first week tough times. I forget how hard zigzagging is sometimes!

Mel--I'm glad to hear that your second dose of CPB is better for you. It's so good to know that Pam is so willing to work with us instead of forcing her ideas as the only way.

Mox--I completely know what you mean about family issues. My sister and I get along so much better now that we live ten hours apart than we ever did while growing up. We fight all the time when we're home together but can talk every night on the phone without incident. Good to hear that you got your fam to the gym! I'm sorry to say that that would never happen in my family. Don't knock yourself too much for not getting up early...it's always hard after a holiday and you'll make it to the gym tonight!

Have a great night everyone!

Default Sounds like we're all doing fab!

Hey y'all!!!

Day 2 of C3FC is rockin'

Today was shoulders/abs/calves and 30 minutes cardio...so far my eating has been right on - yesterday I was a bit off since I was at home. It's way easier to stay ON PLAN when I'm at work. Yesterday Jim and I spent the day recovering from jet-lag and spending quality time with Sparky. My sister took such good care of him - brought the kids with her and they all played with him twice a day. But of course he was overjoyed to see us on Sunday - he's been following Jim around and purrrring to beat the band.

Mel - sounds like Pam tweaked your program to your satisfaction! I know she wants all her customers to be satisfied - please DON'T be afraid to ask her questions. That's the great thing about CPB - she will customize it to suit you, and I'll bet she'll want updates of your progress as well!

Mox - yesterday we watched the FOOD NETWORK. Could there be any network worse to watch on Day 1 of C3FC? but they were doing a whole NYC segment so we wanted to catch that. Emeril made cheesecake, steak, creamed spinach, Waldorf salad (which I actually did NOT have even though I was at the Waldorf) and hashed brown potatoes. Pretty decadent!

As far as your cardio - the day ain't over yet - you still have time to get it done! Go for it!

Susanje - I honestly don't see how you can eat clean in NYC - the food is just SO good. Jim's favorite was cheesecake (of course) and those hot honey roasted peanuts that the street vendors were selling.

More later gals - onward towards my quest for visible abs again in 40 more days!!! Yee haw!

Woo-just got home from the gym. Had a killer tri/chest/ab workout, and did cardio this morning. I can tell my body is detoxing from this weekend's splurgefest, because my body's been, ahem, cleaning itself out quite nicely, thank you. And is it just me, or do you guys pay *way* more attention to your bowel movements than you ever did before BFL? Is this healthy?!

Mrs. Jim: I am completely the opposite when it comes to nutrition. I find it easier to stay on plan when I'm at *home*, away from the donuts and other sugarbombs that people bring in! As much as I like the way I feel when I eat soundly, sometimes it's hard to resist. And what kills me is that 80% of the women in my office (ok, that's a rough estimate, but you get my drift) are on "diets" of some sort. Yet, a dozen donuts won't last 10 minutes in the joint! (My trick is to tell myself that if I really want one, I can have it "in 30 minutes," which is always safe, because there's never one left after 30 minutes! phew!
