Since no one started this yet!

Hey Ladies, how is it going? Its a beautiful Monday here, which is kind of an oxymoron, but still the sun is welcome after a weekend in cold, rainy New Jersey. The weekend wasn't all bad - I cleaned my bedroom at my dad's house then went to see Star Trek with my dad and my sister. I also bought the books that the HBO show "True Blood" was based off of, and I'm ridiculously excited to start reading (such a dork). Father's day wasn't bad, just weird. I met my dad's girlfriend, and she's really nice, but I feel like I'm betraying my little sister and partially my mom. My mom knew that my dad would find someone very soon after she was gone, its just his nature, so I'm not so conflicted about her as I am my sister. She's not handling this well at all, she feels that its too soon, etc. My take on it is - if he's happy, then fine. In the last few months he's actually getting out of the house and doing thing, and he doesn't sound so darn depressed when I talk to him. I consider that a win. My little sister, not so much. I'm sure it will all work itself out with time. I managed to stay OP all weekend, just didn't get much exercise Saturday and Sunday, aside from the cleaning. Back to the gym tonight!

How was everyone else's weekend?

Hey! It is not a beautiful Monday here, but Wednesday I'm going to Concord NH for the day for a family thing so it's not so bad, since I get a midweek break. Report back on those "True Blood" books...I love dorky stuff like that and will pick them up if they're good. I got through Twilight and liked it but not enough to read New Moon, I think. Right now I'm trying to finish The Dirty Girls Social Club so I can start My Sister's Keeper before the movie comes out.

Good for you for staying OP all weekend, and it sounds like you are coping well with a weird and difficult situation. I hope things get better for your sis. I most definitely did not have an OP weekend, as I was with my bf's parents all weekend and ate out a lot, plus didn't have time for my run yesterday. But, I am back OP today and working extra hard, knowing that there is more eating out in my future (family event on Wednesday and bf birthday on Sunday).

the boy and i talked last night when he got home from his dad's and he realized he can't do it. we officially ended it. i'm sorry this is all i talk about these days, but it is my life, and all i can think about. how do you recover from something like this? he was the person i had planned to spend my life with. he was such a big part of me. i mean, i know i'll survive and i can live without him, but a life without him isn't one i ever wanted. ugh i hate being that girl. i'm sorry.

on a good note, the sun was out for about 10 minutes today. that was nice.

ugh i'm such a debbie downer (whwaw whwaw)

You are not! You had a positive note in there - positivity is always good. I'm truly sorry about you and the boy.

Greetings all,

It's also a sunny day here in Missouri, but it's boiling hot. Today it was 94 degrees, and it's only supposed to get warmer later this week.

I had a good Father's Day weekend also. I spent my time going back and forth from Memphis to Arkansas while I attempted to get the last bit of stuff out of my apartment. Fortunately, we finished and now I am officially moved out of my apartment. In addition to the moving, we also celebrated Father's Day with my maternal grandparents. Staying OP was almost impossible since my mom decided to cook fried chicken and mashed potatoes, but I was a good girl and only ate a little.

I am going to New Student Orientation at the University on Friday. I am looking forward to it, though I am almost positive I will be the oldest one there. I opted to do the new student orientation and not the transfer orientation because I am new to the area, but I have to admit that it will be weird to be hanging out with a bunch of 17- to 19-year-olds.

Amyleigh, you are not a Debby Downer! I send many your way. It's just hard to get over relationships in general, believe me, been there done that. But I think if you just surround yourself with people who love and care about you (as we all do here!) you'll gradually start to feel better.

Hi girls!! I feel like I haven't been around forever. I just came back from a weekend away in Chicago. A couple of us went to surprise a friend that lives there and it was awesome!!! There were a bunch of snags along the way, including the airport being closed while I was en route to Midway and being diverted to Detroit. But we finally made it and my friend freaked out and started crying because she seriously had no idea we would be there. We did a TON of walking around the city and even rented bikes yesterday morning and rode for two hours along the waterfront. It was so pretty!!! I wish I was still there....because it was warm and sunny all weekend and it's cold and rainy here!

But only two more days of work before summer break starts and I can't wait

Most stuff looks high calorie so im going to try and be really on plan for the day until then. I was under calories yesterday so it'll prob be good to have a few more today to keep my metabolism guessing

..... eeeeeee.

My stepdad's taking me to Boston Pizza. Oh. Holy crapsticks. The whole menu is like.. the devil.

http://www.bostonpizza.com/en/nutrition

I'm trying desperately to find something that I LIKE, so I can ENJOY my meal, but at the same time not have it be INSANELY high calorie. It's a damn good thing my whole day has already been so crazy low-cal, because the best thing I can find that I actually like is 690 calories for a spinach artichoke dip that I already know I love.
But like.. a chicken lemon salad is 750 calories!! What the frig! Restaurants are evil.

Jelbb-
One option is to get something and ask for a to go box right away. Put half of the portion in the to go box, and eat half at the restaurant. You get to enjoy your meal with your step dad, and get a meal for later, and basically cut the calories in half by only eating half.

Hi EVERYONE

I just got home from a beautiful walk in the country side with my good friend.... Ahhh, nothing like escaping to nature! I just love it. It has been horribly hot and humid here all day. I really hate Canadian summers! I'm more of a fall girl myself....

There she is! Hi Cake!

My sister will come around - We talked yesterday and her apprehension is more towards the way my family is treating the girlfriend. There's about 30 years of crap going on there, and its not so much to the girlfriend, its to the family.

Hey to everyone else! My bosses are taking me out for grad school acceptance celebration, so its time to scour the menu to find something I can eat.

did you ever have one of those weeks where you have to keep reminding yourself to breathe? all i can think of is dori from finding nemo "just keep swimming, just keep swimming." oh the story of my life.

as i'm going through this whole mess of a breakup, i'm realizing what an unbelievable set of family and friends i have. i'm so lucky to have the support nets i have close by, and all of you girls are amazing. i never realized how much love and support you all really do have for eachother. thank you for letting me be a part of that.

as for classes- only 6 days of class (3 this week and 3 next week) and i'm DONE my program!!! i only have to survive another 42 hours of class (plus an exam, 2 papers and my 2 presentations today). i don't know how i'll do it, just gotta keep swimming.

i hope all is well with you ladies. sorry for the lack of personals, but once my brain slows down a bit, i'll catch up with all of you.

Everyone -- Hello!

I didn't die in the woods, just checking in to let you know that. I am, however, in Texas (don't ask) with some guys (don't ask again) and my friends and i'm having a lot of fun. I'll be back home Sunday and update you on the PG rated parts of these random hijinks because I haven't figured out what the crap is going on or what i'm doing yet. Maybe by then i'll have a rough idea and I can mull it over in horror on the drive home.

Love you guys, be good and stay safe!

Cebsme:
Well, the other problem arises in that I don't eat wheat, so there's only so much on the menu that I can GET... Usually, pasta or pizza I'd split in half, but when you have to get something like spinach/artichoke dip, it's hard to split it/take that home. Maybe I'm just making excuses, lol.... that's always a good call! Taking half of it home, and not gorging yourself right there!

Luvja:
I knooooow. I hate Canadian summers too. It was like 31 degrees and huuumid yesterday. (87.8 F to the Americans) I'm really a fall girl myself as well. Cool breeze, dry, lovely. I tried to go out and get some sun yesterday, and I was sweating/dying so horribly I had to forfeit and come back into the A/C.

Cake:
It went alright! I wound up getting something that was 690 calories (eee!) but my total for the day was still only 1,350, so all was well! Glad things are going well with you! What happened to your butt bone??

Stella:
I always do that, lol. Hope you can find something low-cal and yummy!

Amy:
Just keep swimming is an awesome mantra. Congrats on almost being done! We're all so proud of you sticking to it and kicking @ss even though you're going through rough times! We're all here for you!

Nish:
....Can I come?
Don't do anything I wouldn't do. (Doesn't narrow the list greatly.)
<3

I'm 153.6 this morning, which is a big "boo" as I was 153.0 yesterday. (Shouldn't have moved the ticker!!!) That being said, I'm still down. The scale IS moving in the right direction, finally, as I was sitting at 155.8 for weeks.
Not to mention, the sodium in my dinner last night was off the CHARTS. Like.. 1,450 mg or something. So, maybe I'm a bit bloated as well.

Anyhow! I ate pretty damn well yesterday, I took the doggy for a walk (it was too hot to run. ) and I didn't succumb to temptation to garbage! I'm gonna go anti-sodium and drink TONS of water in the next few days, I've got a bridesmaid dress to fit into on Saturday! I'll post up pics of my humiliation next week.
