Time for a new thread. The other one was on two pages. Don't forget to read the other posts on #19.

Hi everyone!

I just have a few short minutes to post. I hope you all had a great weekend ! I only did my Orbitrek on Friday for 30 minutes. Saturday I'm not sure what happened. And Sunday I wasn't feeling well so that's my excuse. I really need to get moving more though. I know I'll feel better and lose quicker if I do !

Maureen-Welcome! You will love it here. There is so much support and motivation going on you will want to get up and move just to keep up with everyone ! I hope you'll post often.

Alia-I hope you feel better. I wasn't feeling so hot yesterday either and I didn't do a thing on Sunday. But this is a new week.

Kim-Way to go on the workouts ! It's hard to stay on track with company or family but it seems like you managed okay. The important thing is that you started again today. Way to go! Oh and by the way, I think the elliptical machines are harder for me then the others. I'm not sure why but it's hard from me to go the same distance on the elliptical that I could go on let's say the treadmill. That's what I like about the ellipticals. They supposedly burn 3.7 times as many calories as a treadmill. I'm not too sure about that but it sure feels like it does !

Nona-It's great to see you back and feeling better ! It's not fun to be sick. I'm hoping that I'm not catching what my son had because I'm really enjoying my exercise routine. Keep up the great routines!

Pogo-Did you make it to the gym? Give us a full report! Congrats on the weight loss!

Amy-Did you get with the trainer yet? I'm anxious to hear what his plans are. Post when you can.

MEME-Are you still out there? How are you feeling?

Okay my plan for tonight is to do 20-30 minutes on my Orbitrek. Once I get started I know I can do 20 but I'm not sure about 30. Hopefully I'll be more energetic then I am now! Take care and don't forget to do some exercise today!

Happy Monday!! It's a stormy one here. I'm sure glad I have my cross trainer at home. I know I would not have made it to the gym today. I did 30 minutes at random level 3.
It felt good today--my feet did not hurt at all.

Rose, I feel like I burn more calories on the crosstrainer too. I know I sweat faster and my heart rate stays up more than the treadmill. I miss the walking, though. Hopefully, my feet will cooperate soon. I don't want to get burned out by just using one machine.

Pogo, I read your post on #19. I have to say that I disagree with your trainer. I think that the crosstrainer is weight bearing, because you are standing. Also, my crosstrainer has different resistance levels and I know my muscles are being used. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part!! I want the machine to give me the same benefits as walking since I can't walk right now. Anyway, keep up the good work exercising!!

Hope everyone is getting some exercise today!

Good Morning everyone!

Well it hit me. I didn't sleep well last night and my throat hurts and my nose is stuffy and I feel so tired. I've been taking extra C and hopefully I'll kick this thing quickly. Of course no Orbitrek last night ! I just couldn't do it. I woke up off and on all night and this morning I feel really sick. I'm at work though, because I have to work overtime this week too and I can't afford to miss so this will be a long day for sure.

Pogo-I read your post on the other thread. I'm glad you made it to the Y ! Way to go. Keep it up.

Kim-I really like the workout I get on the Orbitrek when I use it that is ! I hope I get better soon because I need to get with it. You had an awesome workout by the way. I definitely feel my muscles getting stronger using the Orbitrek especially in the hips and butt. How about you?

NONA-I'm sorry I threw you off with the new thread. I should have posted something on #19 about going to #20. I guess hind sight is 20/20. I'm glad you found us though ! How did your weigh in go?

Amy, MEME, anyone else that I've missed please check in and let us know how you are doing !

Good morning!

Rose, I am so sorry you are sick. I am finally over my cold--mine lasted about a week. It made it very hard to exercise. Hang in there--you'll make it. I don't know if I have been doing my machine long enough to notice any muscle tone--but I definitely feel it when I am on there!!

I did an extra 15 minutes last night for 45 minutes total. Today I did 30 minutes and want to get in 15 more tonight. I am trying really hard to boost my metabolism.

Anyway, I'm off to the grocery store now--hope I can find some healthy food! I am tired of my own cooking!!!

Have had a bad cold...Dr. thought it was strep but the test was negative. I started back walking today...did nearly 15 minutes before my knee started hurting!

Missed you guys...hope all is well with you!

Hi everybody !

MEME-I think I caught your cold ! It's awful. I thought mine was strep too but it's just a bad cold. I started feeling ill on Sunday and progressively felt sicker each day. I'm at work today just because I have to work overtime tonight and I can use the extra money. Otherwise I would be in bed sleeping. I'm glad you are feeling better and it wasn't strep . Way to go on the walk.

Kim-thanks for the kind words ! I think I'm starting to get better already. I'm just real tired and I want to sleep but seeing I'm at work that's not possible. I guess you'll have to do some exercise for me today !

I hope you all are getting your exercise in and staying well ! I haven't done anything on my Orbitrek since I got this cold. I really miss it.

Hi all ~

Sorry to hear other people have caught this nasty cold/flu thing going around. My cough is still w/me - just not as bad thank goodness.

Meme - take it easy on that knee

Well, I gained BIG TIME the past 2 months. I haven't weighed in since 12/5 (I weigh-in once a month since I'm lifetime)& since then have put on a whopping 6 pounds I figured I had gained about 4-5lbs (which is bad enough), but 6 is even more unacceptable. I am sooo OP and motivated right now that you guys wouldn't even recognize me!LOL! We have ANOTHER (3rd leader in the past 5 wks) new WW leader & I will ask her if I can weigh in weekly instead of just monthly. She says she is our permanent leader now - not a temporary like the others. I'll let you know what happens.

Well, get better & hope you have a good week!

Boy...this thread has been quite! Hope I didn't give the crud to everyone!

I'm some better...have had a headache for 3 days now but it seems like it is backing off now, too. Hopefully I'm on the mend if I don't get something else. I've always had this problem...I teach piano in the afternoons and every kid that comes in with something gives it to me. Plus my grandchildren have all had something going on with them the last couple of weeks. I think we just keep passing it back and forth to each other!

Hope you all are doing ok...I've started back doing some exercises again...hope I can keep it all up. I'm not overdoing it...just trying to work in some things every couple of days until I get to feeling better.

Got back to the Y today. I haven't been since Monday. I'm looking for that "perfect" time when the machines are not busy. 1pm today was wonderful. I went through the Nautilus line and then did 25 min/Fat burn/90 cal/just short of 1 mile.

I just picked up some fresh scrod for dinner - have to go check out some recipes.

I hope all the colds are getting better.

Good Morning Everyone !

I'm feeling much better today after getting some good rest last night. I worked overtime on Weds night and then on Thurs again but it was worth it because of the money ! I didn't start back to exercising yet but I decided I will this weekend. I want to make sure I'm 100% better.

Pogo-I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but what is scrod? Congrats on your awesome exercise. !

MEME-Why did you give me your cold? I'm glad you are doing better. I'm feeling better as well. I took echinacea and it really help me beat my cold. Maybe you should try some because it boosts your immune system and it might help you from getting it back. It's worth a try.

Nona-I wanted to say you have such a positive attitude that I know you will succeed ! Some people get discouraged but I love the way you get so energetic about doing something about it instead of being a victim. Way to go Nona! You've inspired me to do better too!

I hope everyone else managed to stay healthy and virus free! I'm feeling renewed especially after reading everyone's posts. Thanks for being here!

Good Friday Morning!!!

Haven't posted in a couple of days--busy week. I skipped Wednesday--dental appointment and sore mouth all day!! I did 30 minutes Thursday and 32 minutes today. I'm still trying to get in those 2 workouts but it is hard. The only changes I am seeing so far is that I sleep better at night and trot to the bathroom more!!! I'm not brave enough to weigh yet!!!

Rose, I don't how you did it--working so hard and being sick!! Way to go--try to get some rest this weekend!

Meme congrats on your walking again. I know it's hard with that knee!!

Pogo--sounds like you are getting in some good workouts, too!!!

Nona, you are a lifetime at WW? Does that mean you are at goal weight? That's wonderful.

Well, good luck everyone. I'm going to the mall today to check out some diet stuff and have a smoothie at GNC! Wish y'all could come with me!!

Hi Friends!

I am doing pretty well_ I have a bug, tho! YUCK! (A-CHOO!)

I have made it to the gym twice this week and I need to get in there once more. I have promised myself I will go tonight or tomorrow am. I just feel poopy-no excuse, I know. My kids are sick with it, too. In fact, almost everyone I know has it! CRAZY! They called off church on Weds. night because so many people were sick.

I havent met with the trainer yet-I will sometime this month. I sort of feel rebellious about it-LOL!

How are you guys doing? I'm glad to see you all making an effort! Ras, thanks for remembering me every week!

Take care all! I'll check in tomorrow!

Oh, check out my v-day page on my site:

Scrod I know but what the heck is echinacea? Scrod is a boned cod or haddock. Pretty tasty, too!

Rose...so sorry for giving you my cold...hope no one else got it!

I did GREAT today...and yesterday, too. I'm so glad to finally be back on track with everything. Jenna is eating and sleeping normally again (don't remember if I told you all what we've been through with my granddaughter the last couple of weeks, it has been a nightmare...wouldn't sleep or eat...she's only 23 mos.) and my crud/whatever is getting better and I feel like I just might be able to get back to the business of losing weight. At least it will be easier to focus on it anyway.

Do any of you have an exercise ball? I bought one tonight...hubby and I tried it out a little after we got home...it was sooooo funny! We were "rolling" all over the living room! I'm almost afraid to try using it when I'm home alone...afraid I'll be like the woman in the commercial: "I have fallen and I can't get up!" I also bought a Denise Austin Pilates/Yoga tape. I'm "watching" it now. It looks like I'm going to be able to do the first part of it...even with my bad knees...it is in two 20 minute segments. The second 20 minutes looks too hard, though. I can't believe I'm actually "excited" about exercising!!!!

I'm planning another perfect day tomorrow. I'm making cabbage beef soup and going to try to learn some of the positions on that ball and do the first part of the new tape. Oooo, I'll be sooooo sore Sunday...hope I can still play the organ pedals! Actually, I know better than to try to do too much with MY body...I'm going to "ease" into these things. Just a little at a time! I don't want another set back!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Everyone! It's a beautiful, sunny, cold day here. But no wind. So after this note, I'm off for a walk. My BP was down a little bit at the doc's on Friday. I'm still determined to shed a few more pounds - I think that should lower it some more. My GP wants me to go off the HRT at the end of this cycle. We're trying to figure out why my BP is so high. That should put me in a wonderful mood!

I did get to the Y 3 times last week. I tried Thursday @1:30 and it was almost empty. No lines at any machines. I might try the Tues/Thurs instead of M/W/Fr. Then I'll add a Sat or Sund depending on my schedule. I'll let you know if this works. I did get up to 30 minutes on the elliptical trainer. I'm using the FatBurner level and it's always telling me to slow down to a HR of 114. Maybe in a week or so, I'll experiment with the Cardiac level? Are any of you using this level on the machine? I assume it just lets you reach the higher HR - am I right?

I also went to WW on Friday. I remained the same at 150. I suppose that's better than gaining, maybe next week I'll have a bigger loss.

FYI - scrod is "fish of the day", haddock or cod I think. It was on sale, so I bought it. I just sprayed the Forman w/garlic-flavored Pam and sprinkled the fish with Dash/lemon-pepper. It cooked very quickly. Before the fish I had grilled onions, mushrooms and grape tomatoes. Yum!

Got to walk!
