Intro!
Hi all,
I've been lurking around the forums -- probably since I discovered them around Thanksgiving last year. After the Christmas holidays, I realized how far I had gotten both out of shape, and overweight. My hip was starting to hurt pretty bad, and I was getting into that typical cycle of grad student desk work and lethargy. When I got back -- I decided to get pretty serious about getting active and watching what I eat. I don't consider myself a particularly emotional eater... but boy, do I love the taste of food! Eating is fun! (Unfortunately, too much!) While I haven't exactly picked a particular diet plan yet - I have made changes (a good oatmeal + glass of milk breakfast every morning), moderating the eating out, and just watching the little things at home. I've also been exercising at the gym for about a month now, pretty consistently (I'm the one who is raining a storm all over the cardio machines), and have lost a pretty good amount of weight - this is the first time I've lost weight since Junior High. I'm hoping it continues -- I'd like to (gasp!) start dating again, (29! I feel so old!) and just feel better about myself.
All of you gals really inspire me! Thank you for letting me post!
