Mine was pretty good, a lot of eating out. Friday my sister came over and we had dinner out, but we split the meal so that I wouldn’t have any leftovers to take home. Then that night I used my new boxing gloves and did the workout video that came with them. I don’t have a punching bag but there is an aerobic workout and shadow boxing. So I figure it will help me build some upper body strengths. It was fun but boy was I sweating when I was done.
Saturday morning when I got up I did a turbo jam workout video (I didn’t know that there are work out videos on the cable on demand). I went to my sister’s house and went out to the bar. This lead to an interesting time. We got to the bar and after a few minutes the owner, who we know, bought out his wii and we played wii for several hours, bowling and boxing. Tons of fun. I played the most, probable because I’m obsessed with it, but also because I don’t give up like a lot of people when you start to sweat. Everything was going well and then I was just drinking diet coke, then I decided I would have a gin and tonic. That is always a bad plan because I tend to over-drink, I need to say no to those useless calories.
Sunday was a low key day I went out to breakfast with my sister, then to a baby shower, and finally I ended up getting a late dinner with my other sister. The only good thing is I made healthy choices the entire time, small portions and reasonable food. My whole body hurt for working out so much and playing wii.
This week is hopefully going to be good. I’m trying to cut back on my caffeine and increase my water. I’m going to try and exercise more, I haven’t started running because I’m afraid I’m getting sick and my chest is tight but I’m going to try and do more work out programs from on demand.
Saturday I worked 3-11 so I really didn't have much me time and when I got off I went home and spent some quality time with Precious.
Sunday I worked 2-5:30 and was supposed to have a dinner and a movie date, but I ended up having a girl crisis, so I had to cancel my date and provide my shoulder instead. I didn't mind because I firmly believe in the saying, 'bros before hoes.' I would never choose a guy over one of my best friends.
Last week's eating was not all that good. I ate many things in addition to my postings but this week I made all my lunches last night so everything should return to moving smoothly.
My dance class ended last week and now I think I'm going to risk embarrassment and try the belly dancing class up the street from my house. They don't open until 5pm so I'm going to call them after I get off today.
Remember - i recently discovered these little powder packs called Emergen-C and they are packed with vitamin C and they are also supposed to give you a little bit of an energy boost, although whenever I take one it always makes me a little sleepy. I started taking them when I had slight cold and it knocked it right out. Just a little suggestion.
Didn't do much this weekend. The kids were at there dads this weekend so I got some cleaning and shopping done - got the new undies and they are fitting good.
remember - it sounds like you had an action packed weekend. Good job on making excellent choices while out. I am trying to talk me 9 year old son into wanting a wii for x-mas. It looks like it would be such a blast, but he wants a PS3.
jana - you are so super sweet. Your friend is very lucky to have you in her life. Good job on making lunches for the week.
I am down 1.2 lbs this week, but TOM is right around the corner so I should be happy with any loss right now.
Remember - The wii is soooo much fun isn't it? I bought one for my boyfriend's birthday and we have not stopped playing it! I bet your arms are STILL sore. I'm dying to get DDR for the wii, but it's not in the budget as of yet.
Jana - Don't worry. If the guy is any good, he will understand and take you out some other time. And you're right, friends have to come first!
Love - congrats on the weight loss!
My weekend was all in all pretty terrible in the weight loss realm of things. Friday night was my one year with my boyfriend. I ate VERY little that day to allow for our celebration dinner. I probably had about 550 calories. So, I was starving by dinner time. We got ready, and showed up at the bar we went to on our very first date. I was planning on a hamburger. Well, when we got there, my boyfriend realized he forgot his wallet. We couldn't get in because he didn't have any ID. By the time we got back to our place so he could get his wallet we knew trying to find parking by the bar again would be impossible. (We live in downtown Chicago and the bar is in Wrigleyville. It's just a few blocks too far to walk and the parking is INSANE there.) So, we went to Walgreens and picked up my blood thinner and tried to think of a place we could eat within budget that didn't take reservations nor had a long wait on a Friday night. Haha, we ended up going to McDonald's and pigging out. I had 3 handfuls of fries, a fish sandwich, 1/2 of a large coke, a cheeseburger & 1/2 of a double cheeseburger. OH MY GOD. I know.
Then Saturday was the day of my best friend's bachelorette party. I ate VERY little during the day to accomodate for going out and partying. (Luckily, I can't drink because of the blood thinner I'm on.) I had 428 calories before going out that night. I ordered a bourbon grilled chicken sandwich. I ate all of it, all of the fries that came with it, and 2 nachos with cheese on them. Not bad if you think about it. But, then the bride's brother's best friend was killed in a car accident that night. They received the call just as we were switching from the piano bar to a karoke bar. The party was called off and we all went home. The problem is. . . I live in Chicago and the party was in St. Louis. I left St. Louis at 1 am and drove back to Chicago. Sooooo. . . at around 3 am I stopped at a gas station and picked up a coffee and a muffin. A FIVE HUNDRED AND FIFTY CALORIE MUFFIN. OH MY GOD. And, I ate it.
Yesterday was bad, too. I woke up and ate a 150 calorie skinny cow caramel vanilla ice cream cone. This is a gift from god. I then went to my boyfriend's grandma's b'day party and ate Filipino food. Grease heaven. I didn't eat TOO lunchwise much, but I did have 3 slices of pistachio cake. So, that's not good. Then I went home and had a 100 calorie vita top. We finished the evening with baked salmon & steamed veggies, so that was a high note.
No, I didn't work out all weekend.
So, today is a new day and I've got to start over! I still have the goal of being 145 by the wedding this Saturday. That's 1 1/2 pounds away.
As an aside, practice for Hustle Up the Hancock officially starts next Monday. I CAN'T wait.
remember - sounds likea busy weekend! i feel you on the empty alchy calories. plus it always lowers my inhibitions to snacking so i drunk eat and PLUS the next day all i crave is greasy food. pretty much drinking = 2 days of over eating for me. not good! haha anyways ive never played those games but they sound fun and like a good work out!
jana - glad you've got your priorities straight! so important! hope everything works out for your friend.
lovin - great job on the loss with tom around the cornor! thats hard to do!
amber - well let me just say im not in shock about anything you ate - i do things like that too!! lol onwards and upwards! one "off plan" day or two wont make or break a losing trend. i know youll make 145 by this sat!!! good luck.
me - im trying to BE REALLY GOOD for the next 2.5 weeks. because im going to italy then! yay! im really excited! now i just need to get my butt in gear. went to the gym 2 days last week, going to try to make it 4-5 this week. and eat lost of veggies and protien to curb cravings. this weekend wasnt TOO bad but not great either. you know how that goes.
Well my week last week was a total write-off. I totally let myself get out of hand. I barely exercised (except for chasing and scaring kids on Halloween) and I had such a bad week at work that I didn't pay any attention to my diet. Luckily I'm not up that much... but I avoided the scale like the plague .
So I'm back on track today. Planning on getting lots of exercise in today. So far I've managed to stay on plan today.
Here's to hoping that a new week will bring better things.
Well... I have gained 2.25 lbs over the WEEKEND!!! That sucks... it's crazy! Well, I guess since this is my first big blooper, I can let it go and move on, I was super good so far today!!! I am going to watch the Steelers beat the Ravens tonight at Damons... their gr chix salad isn't so bad...but, the game isn't til 8:30... so, I'll probably eat low cal at home and have a side salad and light beer when I go... I'm at 644 cal so far and I'm trying to stick strictly to 1200 this week since I went up and I need to lose 7.6 lbs in 16 days now that I have gained... it's cool... I'm on the upswing!!
Happy Monday all!
My weekend..hmm... actually it wasn't too bad. Saturday I went to DBF's mothers for the Football game (GO U of M! WOO HOO!!). There was a smorgasborg of food!!! I held my ground though - and snacked on the fruit tray rather then the chips, cookies, jelly beans..etc..etc.. I was proud of myself.
Sunday was nice, I woke up, got DD ready for church...my dad came and picked her up and I went out Christmas shopping for DD. I got all but two of her presents - and spent $40 LESS then what I expected
So far today has been pretty good... I get to leave work in about 45 mins, go grocery shopping, pick up my daughter and my boyfriend offered to make dinner!
Then get DD to bath & bed, work out (day 5 of week 1 - Slim in 6) and then wind down for the night. It should be a great rest of the day
Remember - I LOVE The Videos Ondemand! That's how I found the Slim in 6, which I fell in love with and actually bought the whole series! The Wii is a lot of fun too!
HighHopes - Stick with it - I know stress is my Biggest reason for getting out of hand too!
It has been a typical Monday here at work...dealing with one problem after another.
ready - Italy...I am totally jealous. I bet you will have a fabulous time!
amber - sorry to hear about the accident. What a sad thing to have happen around what should be such a joyous time. BTY - what is Hustle up the Hancock?
highhopes - I hope work is better for you this week.
hopetolose - I am a KC Chiefs fan, but just for you here is a Go Steelers!
enygirl - Good for you with not only the eating, but also the X-mas shopping. I have barely started and if my daughter doesn't get a pink Nintendo DS this year...she just might disown me. I had better get on the ball.
Today was a good day. I got off work an hour early because my boss that stays late with me wasn’t in. I made this great salsa chicken for dinner with black beans that turned out wonderful. I didn’t eat my afternoon snack because I was getting off work early so I might add some extra veggies as a snack tonight. I’m debating working out right now I think I’m going to get a bit of homework done and then get a work out in.
Jana – Take the belly dancing class I am sure that it will be totally fun. I think I’m going to try some of the on demand dance stuff. I have no coordination so we’ll see. That energy stuff does it make you gittery at all? I’m always weiry to try them because they make your heart speed up so much.
Lovin – I would get him a wii over a PS3 because at least the wii has interactive games so that you get him up off the couch. Plus you can download most of the old Nintendo games for it which is way fun for you.
Amber – I love the wii. So worth every penny of it. I’m sorry your weekend was so tough. It seems like everything was going against you. Start over today. I hope this week is better. What is Hustle Up the Hancock?
Freddy – I have been really good about not eating greasy food while I’m drinking. I was so well behaved (in that sense at least). My biggest problem is that I can’t go out and have just one drink, if I start drinking then I go all out. I am so jealous that you are going to Italy I want to go on another trip.
HighHopin – good luck restarting this week.
Hope2 – Hopefully some of that weight is water weight to gain that much you would have to eating 8750 more calories then you burned. Good luck this week.
Enygirl – Oh I’m a state fan here so this weekend was a huge upset for me. I’ll have to take a look at the slim in six.
hey ladies,
i don't usually chat, so I hope it's okay just to jump in.... god knows, I could spend my whole life chatting, ao what's another few mins, lol!
My weekend went really well as far as eating and exercising. I didn't party or hang out too much, so that always helps....but then Saturday night, did go for an entire Italian pizza...it was supposed to be a serving for 1...and then followed that up with 3 pints at a Pub. hmmmm, well-I did get 2 pilates classes in AND went jogging this morning, so no regret here.
I'm off to Toronto wed-sat of this week, so it's going to be hard to exercise and eat right, but all I can do is try, right?
You know, reading all the posts- girls are always so hard on ourselves!!! Imagine a bunch of guys talking about how bad they felt about eating a burger?!!?!? LOL....I think we need to try to be easier on ourselves- I know for me, the less guilt I have about food, the better I seem to eat.... (just a thought)
have a great beginning of the week everyone!
Arg. Bad eating just now. Pigging out on chocolate chips. Ugh, like back in the binging days. Funnily enough it doesn't make me feel good the way I thought it did then, I just feel mildly ill; like eating too much sugar. Which makes me glad.
remember - Wii! That can be so much fun. I love playing Wii sports all intense and what not.
Jana - Belly dancing will be so much fun!!! Try it.
amber - wow. Tough weekend. I'm sure the week will get better for you.
hope2loseit- I just noticed what it says below your name. Donkey Kong. Haha, I used to always be Donkey Kong in Mario Party for ninetendo 64. And my friends were definitely obsessed with beating the game on the original ninetendo.
meganmary - Jump right in! Everyone is welcome. And I agree we are too hard on ourselves. And this thread seems to be especially self depricating today. Makes me sad, because this is about lifestyle changes and we can't be beating ourselves up every time we eat something we shouldn't.
Alright. I'm off I have to get ready to go to hip hop. 2nd to last class. LOL it's so funny, I'm so bad at it... But it's fun to get out there and embarrasse myself with other people.

Hope2 - I wasn't saying you ate that much I was saying that you probable had a lot of water water, I wanted to make sure that came out right.
Meg - I know what you mean when I'm overly tough other people are always like really so you had one thing off plan is that really going to make a difference. Sometimes its that tough love that gets you to the goal. But I'm glad you joined the chat.
Cat - I totally understand what you are saying, its weird that I crave healthy food and not junk food anymore.
