We ended up putting the limbs in the back of Judd's truck and it's full up to the top of the back window. We'll take it to the Arlington dump tomorrow (or at least he will) ... he's going to the Mavericks game tomorrow night so he'll have to do it during the day.

Vickie, the trees in the medians also belong to the city here too ... the ones in our yard though are another story, of course. We'll replace it.

I'm a little tired so I'll be back in the morning.

coco99 03-20-2006 08:26 PM

Hi Everyone
Well I got on tonight. Havent went and read the post yet. But will try. I wont post a long post in case it dont go through. And then I cant get back on.
Well weigh in wasnt good. But I knew it wouldnt be. I gained 3 1/5 lbs.
I walked two miles this morning. So am planning on walking again in the morn.

KATPO I am going to get into that site you told me about tomorrow. I just havent taken the time to work on it. My computer is so slow. So I know it will take awhile for it to download and all. Sorry about your tree. But at least it didnt fall on the house.

VICKIE Way to go. That is great you lost. Sorry to hear about you hubby. Hope everything works out ok. But just think. By walking the dog. You will get more walking in.

To everyone else I am thinking of you. I hope everyone has had a great day. And I hope everyone has great weigh-ins. Cheering you all on.
Have a wonderful evening.

Good Morning Chicks!!!!

:sunny: I don't know if it is going to be sunny here or not today, but I thought I'd try a Froufie title! We'll see if what I did turns out. Harumpf....I can't figure out how to change the text color in the title box. AND, I wanted Mr. Sun in the title but it wouldn't work. I guess I should stick to the basics.

I had a HORRIBLE night sleep, speaking of Frouf. I don't know how you have these horrible nights and then go to work. I went to bed and then couldn't fall asleep for an hour and a half. Then I had all kinds of crazy dreams. I got up at 5:00 to go to the bathroom and just decided to get up. Why keep bothering when we have a busy morning here any way?! I guess I'm worried about Jim and the dog and how on earth we are ever going to manage for the next 4 months. I'm not even sure that he'll be able to get in and out of the swimming pool. I think too much.

Coco, you really should do the lavasoft download and scan. You just need to make sure that after the scan runs you check the boxes next to the items it finds so that they can be deleted. I even delete the ones that have minimal security violations. We'd like to hear from you more often but we understand why you don't! I'm sorry about your gain but you made it sound as if you knew it was going to be big. I'm hoping your stress level is back to normal and you can start getting back on program.

Kathy, I don't know why I assumed that the tree was in the median. How sad....and expensive.....not to mention the hardwork of cleaning it up.

Frouf, I was so busy talking with you about the Director feeback that I forgot to thank you for my congratulations. It REALLY made me smile!

I had a hard eating day yesterday and used alot of points. I'll have to be kind of careful the rest of the week. I need to exercise today but don't think it will happen until this afternoon. I need to get ready and get out of here by about 10:15.

I'll go start a menu thread and then I'll try to be back later. I've rambled enough for now.

Katpo 03-21-2006 08:55 AM

Oh no, Vickie ... it was the big main tree in our front yard. It was quite a shock.

I'm thinking (once again) about changing my goal weight back to 145. I might as well since it doesn't seem like I'll ever get below there unless something drastic happens. We'll see.

I guess I'm working until 7 tonight to get 12 hours in since I had to leave early yesterday and only got 8. Ugh. I have too much at home to do and can't afford to be spending that much time here but I guess it doesn't really matter. It has to be done...

I'll be back in a little while.

Vickie 03-21-2006 09:00 AM

Poor Kathy! 12 hours is just plain grueling.

I'm off to have breakfast and get ready for my errands. I won't be back until later this afternoon.

aghiowa 03-21-2006 09:13 AM

Good morning all! It snowed here last night, and is supposed to be pretty chilly for the next few days. Blah! Oh well, spring is still coming.

We went out as a family last night, and got a new gerbil. We actually ended up "adopting" one instead of purchasing. Apparently, Princess (our new gerbil) broke her tail at some point, and now it's crooked. So, PetSmart made her available to adopt (aka free). She's still pretty young (4 months or so) and is very active and healthy-looking, so we went for it. She's black...very cute.

I hear my little one calling from her bed.

Later,
Angela

septembersgoal 03-21-2006 10:36 AM

Morning all! My knee was feeling better until I dropped something at the grocery and then squatted to pick it up. Dummy!

Vickie, I hope that you managed to get enough rest to make it through your busy day. All is going to be okay with Jim and Cassie. They're troopers like you!

Angela, glad you got a new gerbil, and free at that! :D

Kathy, That is too long at the office for me. I would pull my hair out if I had to stay here more than 9.

Gotta get to work. Have a great day everyone!

Vickie 03-21-2006 01:05 PM

Ok we need prayers. Jim has to have a biopsy on his tongue. It'll be done on Thursday. We are both a little freaked. Waiting to hear back on Cassie. I'm going to go eat lunch.

Katpo 03-21-2006 01:18 PM

What's up with his tongue? Has he been having trouble with it?

Vickie 03-21-2006 04:30 PM

Evidently, he's had a irritation on the underside since December and didn't want to say anything since I wasn't feeling well. How am I going to feel if it is something bad and he held off? HORRIBLE AND GUILTY!!!!

We've been watching TV all afternoon. I'm about to go make Core cannoli cream and cut up my strawberries. I sure don't feel like cooking dinner.

Vickie 03-21-2006 04:32 PM

The internist looked at it last Thursday and thought a specialist should look at it. We went to an oral surgeon specialist kind of guy today and he is the one who wants to do a biopsy.

Ok....all I want to do is eat.

aghiowa 03-21-2006 05:05 PM

Oh Vickie, hugs! I hope everything is all right. I understand the wanting to eat...remember that we're here for you, no matter what. :)

Angela

we're home!!!!! we got here around midnight from louisville. this will be short so i can go read and catch up on all of you. i got 3rd in the nation in this organization, too. indoor archery is over till next season. i'm concentrating on dieting now. life is good.

ontarget 03-21-2006 06:07 PM

i am typing this post as i read pages 6+. it may sound weird. well, ya'll know i am blond.

melissa, i just read about your not getting the house you wanted. i know exactly how you feel. this same thing happened to curtis and me with some land in texas last year. i hope you find the home of your dreams and get it with no glitches. keep your chin up.

vickie, i hope you're not allergic to splenda. that would be the pits. i'll read on now to see what you found out.

saundra, sounds like you and your sister enjoyed each other's company. makes me smile.

angela, it snowed so much in minneapolis the 16th that our flight took off from missoula 2 hours late.

frouf, i hope you got your pay. sounds like a beaurocratic mess for sure.

kathy, dsh--how cute!!! we saw a lot of our texas archery friends in louisville. they were cleaning house, too. sure are good shooters. curtis works with one guy down there--he won 1st in his division. he's a finger shooter. that means he plucks the string with his fingers and doesn't use a release aid for shooting.

coco, i'm sorry you've had problems eating. i will keep reading to see how your wi went. i hope you lost. my foot surgery is the 30th. i'm not sure now which foot he'll operate on. it's a toss up.

vickie, i'll keep you posted about the foot surgery. have you been back to have yours checked lately? do you need another shot? i will write a long post later about the tournament. right now, i'm still trying to get caught up. i am 7 pages behind. even when the board moves slowly, it still moves. i love it!!!!

melissa, the reunion is a great incentive. i think we're leaving the 90's soon. i hope when i read further along i'll see that your knee's better. we were right in the middle of march madness in louisville. sure was exciting.

i like your new tracker, too. 10 lbs at a time is a good plan. i just made my new tracker a few minutes ago.

frouf, that's sad about your mil's passing. i am glad you went to the funeral. how are you doing with weightloss? i'm just nosey.

vickie, do you have sas shoes? that's what i wear all the time now. curtis has had multiple shoulder surgers and now has 2 artificial shoulders. i hope jim has an easy time recooping. keep us posted on him. congratulations on your weightloss. that's fantastic!!

patti, where have you been? i missed something here.

vickie, i just read about jim's need for a biopsy!!! omg!!!!!!!! let us know what you find out. i'm praying for you both.

ontarget 03-21-2006 06:49 PM

okay, here's my story.

short version--curtis shot only one day because of shoulder pain. i won 3rd. our student who went with us won 2nd. our student from texas won 1st. (we shot in different divisions.)

don't read any more if you don't want. i understand.

long version--we met up at the missoula airport thurs am with curtis' student and his family and also 2 good friends. we were all on the same flight to minneapolis. the student/family flew on to louisville with us. we got to louisville thurs evening and went to tgi friday's for dinner.

friday we checked in at the venue (louisville international convention center across the street from our hotel) and visited with friends we'd met via archery from around the nation--especially texas friends. again we ate dinner at tgi friday's.

saturday was day 1 of the 2 day tournament. i was grouped with 2 young professional men and 1 gripey old guy. the 2 young men were fantastic to shoot with. the griper was the most negative person i'd ever seen at an archery tournament. ya'll know how i work at being positive. it's part of mental management to keep positive and not let negative thoughts in as negativity "brings you down." well, this griper went on and on and on and on and..... i finally jumped him and told him off. it was that bad!!! i had been hinting nicely trying to get him to stay positive but that didn't work. bluntness was required.

another thing about him was his body odor. he wreaked of cigarette smoke. (i hope i'm not offending anyone here.) his clothes were permeated with stale smoke. i had to stand inches from him facing his back when i shot. every time i inhaled on my draw i got a noseful of stench. i'm not blaming him for my shooting. i am blaming myself for letting him get to me. my mental game was off. i shot 287 instead of my normal 297.

another reason for my shooting being off was probably tournament jitters. i need to work on this, too. this tournament is huge. there were over 1400 people there shooting (broken down into 3 time groups) i confess i was very nervous saturday. anyway, i shot well below my average and was depressed saturday night but decided to regroup and just shoot for fun sunday. (i was in 5th place after saturday and had no hopes of moving up.)

sunday curtis decided to back out shooting because his shoulders were aching. you have to shoot 70 arrows per day and this is often too much for his artificial shoulders. he spent the day visiting with archery buds at the venue. he was happy and had a great time.

sunday i got to shoot with senior women. they had all of us and "the old men" on one end of the ballroom. it was a blast. i brought home several email addresses. old women rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well, back to the shooting--i was relaxed and having a great time not even thinking i had a chance of placing. i wasn't even paying attention to scores as i wasn't one of the folks having to add. (my mental game was where it should be, right?) when the session was over, i made my typical bee line to the restroom. one of the ladies who had shot with a different group a few lanes from me came running in there calling my name. she wanted to know what my 2 day total was. (she was one of the 4 ahead of me.) she said she and one other lady had had a bad day sunday so she was wanting to see which one of us got 3rd place. (the awards ceremony was to be in about an hour and she wanted to know if she needed to stay for it or if she could drive on home) well, we hurried and finished our bathroom duties then starting looking at scores. i won 3rd by 1 point!!! i was shocked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! curtis was, too.

curtis and i celebrated with a huge waffle cone ice cream telling everyone our BIG DIET would begin when we got home.

monday we ate and ate and ate and..... well, you get the picture. speaking of which--we took the camera but left it in the room as we were lugging lots of archery gear. our friend from montana's dad who had flown in from california took a photo of me receiving my medal and is going to e it to me later. i'll try to post it. it is going to be my 'BEFORE" picture. we got to the airport and met up with some other montana friends who were on the same plane with us to mineapolis. (our student and his family had flown home early mon am. our flight was at 6:45 pm.) we got home around midnight. i was tempted to get online but was too tired.

this morning curtis and i began our diets. we aren't doing exactly the same but similar. i had my first FAST FOOD FAST FOOT walking session. i'm going to try to do that every day till surgery then resume asap afterwards. here's what FFFF is: i park at taco bell and walk past wendy's and burger king to krispy creme. then i walk back to taco bell. it's 1.25 miles. why am i walking here you may be wondering? restrooms, sidewalks, and flat terrain. today i left my money in the car and just took my keys. i had a great walk and am now proud of myself.

you know the theme song for biggest loser--"what have you done today to make yourself feel proud?" well FFFF makes me feel proud.

it's good to be home. i'm the laundry fairy again and am pretty busy. i look at this tournament experience (especially saturday) as a big learning experience. i know first hand now how important being positive is. if you see me getting negative, please remind me.
