Nowadays a college degree is like what a high school diploma was years ago. Sad but I found that there aren't a lot of jobs out there for people with bachelor's degrees. You do well with either a high school diploma, a masters, or a specialized BS/BA.

Saundra, I wouldn't want to be a young person in these times. Sounds like you and I were both very lucky! I'm not a parent but I really admire all of you who are.

Melissa, you are going to make a great Mom! I really wish that Hospice thing would come through for you.

I'm really getting off for the night now. I came back on to try to make some trackers for myself.

Oldest son is a self employed civil engineer and second has a masters in international affairs. He's a senior policy analyst with the federal government. The education has paid off for them.

Vickie, you are so sweet! I have no idea what made you say that, but I appreciate it. I'm excited to see you with trackers.

Saundra, very impressive!

i haven't worn scents for 10 years now. curtis is highly allergic. i used to wear estee lauder's private collection. it was sort of my signature back in texas. now i don't even use hair spray. i told him he's hard to live with. we use special soap to laundry clothes, too. oh, well, he's worth it.

kathy, i'm late getting here today so i'm hoping kate got all right. i'm sorry she was sick but glad the problem wasn't one of your fears.

angela, i haven't been 100% core today either. i read in a book that we shouldn't try to be perfect we should work for progress. (sounds like a good excuse for a cookie, doesn't it?) so when i bought groceries today at this store that has a fabulous bakery, i got an iced christmas tree cookie. i dearly love those and had denied myself all through the holidays. it's now out of my system.

wearing makeup when going out is a big resolution of mine, too. i made an appt for fri afternoon to get my makeup makeover. i didn't make goal and didn't earn the reward, but i am overdue for this. do any of you wear a cream eye makeup? i have been wearing powder and it gets into my eyes. (not good for archery)

angela, you're one of our baby chickies, too. you are so smart to know how to and to do it--eating healthy. wish i'd done that at your age. yikes! i just realized--i'm almost twice your age!!

coco, how was wi? i am late to be blinking but i'm still winking at you anyway.

i'm going back to meetings starting this wed afternoon. curtis and i talked about it. the meeting will be over in time for me to come home to get him so we can go to archery league. life is good.

vickie, woo hoo!!!! i am so proud of you. that's a great idea about writing your year's goals on the card and getting them back in dec. i hope they do that here in missoula, too. hmmmm? if they don't, maybe we could mail goals to each other and get them back in dec. what do you think?

patti, it's good to see you back posting. enjoy your dd's.

saundra, you look very young in your photo. (you still look like this lady i know in tx.) where are you going in mexico?

frouf, i'm hungry for roast. wish you could e me a bite. see--that's what happens when you write as beautifully as you do. you really catch your audience.

vickie, i know the meeting will be crowded here this week, too. oh, well, there are a lot of us hefty folks around that need help.

saundra, i've been to cabo and to cancun. you're going to have a great time. get that jacuzzi suite for sure.

kathy, curtis has advanced diving credentials and is an excellent diver. i took lessons 2 years ago but flunked the finals. it's a long story. let's just say i'm a good snorkeler.

melissa, you made me feel good asking where i was. it's good to be missed. we've been out today looking at more travel trailers. there are 3 dealerships here in missoula. only one was open during the holidays when we started looking. a second opened today (we liked what they have!!) the 3rd opens tomorrow. we honestly don't want to buy from it cuz we bought our motorhome from them and had numerous problems with their service dept. (more info than necessary, right?) anyway, we have been busy today.

curtis started me shooting a different type target today. it's 5 spots instead of 1. i won't have any glance outs shooting this one. i honestly prefer the single spot but i'm bonding with the 5'er all right.

okay, vickie, i'm not that old. the girls are grands not great grands. your dinner sounds yummy. hmmmmm? planning? good word to start with for sure.

seems the more i type the more posts i'm behind. there were about 4 pages added today since i was here last. i love it!!!

well, i'm finally to the end and am caught up. ya'll have a good evening. i've enjoyed reading your posts. what a great bunch this is!!!!!

Count me in as another non-degree! Seriously -- and on my previous program, I was the lead and all the workers under me, all 8 of them, were degreed. I have always risen above the rest due to my quick learning and hard work. I make more than my coworkers who have the same job AND a degree. And the thing I like best ... my BIL's SIL (got that? DH's sister's husband's brother's wife) is a college professor with a double doctorate. She also has a zillion dollars in college loans and makes less than half of what I do. So who's the smart one here?

My parents weren't the kind to encourage the girls. My brother graduated with a degree in architecture and has done okay. Sister and I got married right out of school, had our babies, divorced, had more kids, divorced ... you know the drill. Everytime I tried to go back, my mom would talk me out of it. I'd give anything to go back but now I think what's the point?

Oh as for Kate. I'm afraid she's got the full-blown flu. She aches, is still nauseated but hasn't thrown up since the morning, and has a temperature of 101. I got her some Tylenol Flu and apple juice, but all she wants to do is sleep. Devan (boyfriend) came over to keep her company for a while but he'd better not get too close because he starts his new job tomorrow morning.

Sandra, I'm so glad to see you here now. I did miss you today! I realized that you hadn't posted and was concerned. Sounds like you had a fun day though. I know that you and Curtis will have fun with a trailer home. Will you bring it to KY when you come? And I love to hear about your archery stuff, even if I don't really understand it. Very interesting. Hope you have a good night!

Kathy, sorry to hear that Kate is still sick. That's the pits!! And I am so impressed by those of you who have worked hard and done so well in your careers. Here I am stuck in a job I hate and I have a degree. But there just aren't a lot of jobs out there for me (well that I want to do anyway). I will have to get a master's in order to do what I want and make any kind of better money.

Kathy, I meant to ask you earlier...I saw that your tracker moved down 2 pounds--is that protein shake loss??

Okay Sandra, how old is this lady in Texas? It's neat to be told that you look like someone. Do you do a lot of travelling with the Rv, or is this the first. We've been to the place in Mexico before, about 30 minutes south of Cancun, and liked it a lot. I hope dh is okay with an upgrade, but I'm sure he will be. He loves "romantic" settings and a jacuzzi on the balcony, who knows! LOL

I'm the middle of three girls. My dad really wanted me to go to university, but I thought I knew more. In my late 30's I went through an early mid life crisis and felt ashamed, but as the bucks got better, it felt oh so good. At the end, we have to make the best of what hand we are dealt.

Hope Kate feels better by the morning, these things usually don't last too long.

Default Weigh In

Well weigh in wasnt good. I am up 5 lbs. That is for 2 weeks. We didnt have our meeting last week. I am upset with myself. But I also know that it could have been worse. I know I did make some bad choices over the holidays. But I also made some better choices. So tomorrow is a new day. And I will get back on track. I am going to try and go to Core. I did it before. But it has been awhile. But I am going to reread everything and get back on Core. The points are good. But I think Core is better for me.
Well I would love to be on here longer. But just saw two big flashes of lightening and I hear thunder. So I better get off here. Dont want anything to happen to the puter. Then I would be lost. Thanks for all the smilies for a good weigh in. But next week will be better.
I hope you all have a great evening. Will check in tomorrow.
Night
Coco

Melissa, I believe so. The science they explained was that a day of protein will release the stored glycogen. Might be a lot of hooey, but I haven't been hungry and the shakes are really good. I'm taking the canister to work with me so that I'll have an easy lunch if ever I'm stuck without one.

Tomorrow, though, I start 1000% totally Core. And I mean it.

Coco, I'm sure you'll get right back on track. Somehow, we always manage to. I guess it's the weigh-ins that shake us back to reality.

Kathy, I was just curious, since you hadn't mentioned it.
I am rededicating to core tomorrow as well. I was debating on doing sf for a month, but decided that I just do better on core, although it is a lot more planning and work. But if it works, it's worth it. And I am also going to work on daily exercise. I'm going to break out my new dance videos tomorrow.
