  • Melissa, you didn't say how you are feeling. My Niece tells me morning sickness is awful. No throwing up for her. Just a horrible and constant nausea....oh yeah and heartburn from everything!
  • Thanks for asking Vickie. I'm feeling much better. The nausea got eventually better and the headache also slowly went away. I don't know if it was a migraine or a stomach bug or what. It was really terrible. I didn't tell you all when I was driving to work this morning I also had trouble with the vision in my right eye. I've never had migraines before so I don't know if that was one. It was something though! Thanks for asking.
  • Wow, Melissa! Thanks for the links. I'm going to read them more carefully, do some research and talk to my Internist about it. Very interesting from what I skimmed in the articles. One says that it may be effective in treating Alzheimer's (what my mother died of) AND obesity! I love learning about new things. I don't think I'll start taking anything new though until after my test.
  • We're moving to Board 37!! This one is way too long!
  • Wow, you know I just had my first migraine ever. It was the vision disturbance that scared the living daylights out of me. It was my right eye. Fist my vision got a little blurry. Then the lower right corner got wavy and it was moving like how the heat shimmers off of hot pavement during the summer. I was a passenger in the car when it happened. At first I thought the wavy vision was things moving by in the side mirror. Of course, I blocked the mirror and soon realized it was my eye. My Eye Specialist says usually you get the vision disturbance and then the whopper of a headached that can last a couple of days. I hope I never get another.
  • Vickie, that is EXACTLY what happened to me. The heat waves is EXACTLY how I described what happened to Aaron. That is really freaky. And so crazy that you describe it in exactly the same way. That makes me think that I may have had a migraine!! How bizarre!! Don't some people also feel naseous when they have them?
But my headache went away with only two advil, so that makes me wonder. I mean, it was a few hours, but it did eventually go away kind of on its own.
  • Most people feel nausea. Are you near your TOM? For a girlie your age, the cycle or stress are usually the causes. You don't have any stress do you?
  • The Niece has had them for years. She tells me that if you get the ibuprofen in quickly it can shorten the duration. Also she says that caffeine and/or chocolate helps. I told her that it was just an excuse to eat chocolate. I bet you had a migraine.
  • Wow, that is so crazy. I hope that I don't start getting them a lot, that was really horrible. And yes, you know I am stressed. And TOM will be next week! Maybe the combo was too much?
  • Did you read what I wrote to Frouf about the Family Circle article I read. Other triggers besides the TOM and stress were red wine (I know you don't drink), chocolate (I don't get it since the Niece says this helps her), and dehydration.
  • Hmmm...interesting. I woke up with the headache coming on this morning, and then by the time I got to work it was horrible. Strange. The only one I can think would be dehydration--I woke up feeling really thirsty and probably didn't drink enough.
