Lady, hope all goes well with your appointment. Thank goodness your stylist was observant! Don't worry about the weight for now. Just keep on being as good as you can until you get all of this over with. You are certainly entitled to whine. I would be.

Hi all, feeling like a failure this weekend. But, it's Father's day so I allowed DH to pick where we would eat tonight. I won't even get into it, but I plan on doing better tomorrow.

we just got home from the tournament. now i'm concocting a refrigerator pie from an old ww recipe. i'm adapting it so it will be "close" to being core. i wish ff cool whip were core. i'd have it made in the shade then.

we met a couple of friends to shoot with today and had a blast. i haven't giggled this much in a long time. my gf and i almost laughed too much when i stepped in a hole and fell flat. it was like i'd fallen off the earth. i disappeared in the tall grass. i wasn't hurt at all but a little embarassed. i was glad the men were at the target getting our arrows and didn't see.

curtis spoiled me by taking me to the first target and picking me up at the last in the jeep. he waved me about a mile of walking. (literally) my feet made it but i am a little sore. i have on my orthotics now and will keep them on for about 3 or 4 hours. i'm tired of foot problems. i don't have time for them.

kathy and vickie, do you think our men are a little jealous of our puter time? sometimes i think so.

kathy, i enjoy reading about your plants. i haven't seen monkey grass or crepe myrtles up here either. i used to have both when i lived in texas. i tried to grow hibiscusessessess but didn't have much luck. what color did you plant?

lady, your cyst might be a sebaceous (sp?) cyst. i've had them before. they are benign. they tend to appear where there's hair. i'd like some good cheese with my whine, too. i have an appt with the podiatrist wednesday. i don't know what he's going to do. last time i got a cortisone shot in my foot. i'm thinking he'll just say, "you're progressing nicely." and will cash his check.

lindanh, you're not a failure. a failure is someone who gives up after falling down. you haven't given up.

septembersgoal 06-19-2005 08:14 PM

Hey ladies. You all have moved too quickly for me today and its hard to keep up. :)
To sum up this weekend: poor, unwise food choices. That about sums it up. I am too embarassed to even tell you what I ate, but let's just say I have no more wpas for the week. Oh well, that's why I changed my w/i day, isn't it!

Kathy, your flowers sound really beautiful. I'd love to see a pic. I can't wait until we can buy a house so that I can have a yard again. Living in a townhouse is for the birds. Or the non-bird loving people I guess. I miss having a yard so much! How was your chicken?

Sandra, glad you had a good time giggling and falling. Hey, falling is a new trend apparently. We are just too graceful. Take care of your poor little feet!!

Vickie, how did your planning go? I am trying to work up the energy to iron clothes and pack lunches for the week. So far I have been unsuccessful. :dizzy:

NH Linda, LadyDreamer, and Cindy too...don't beat yourselves up too much. I had a really bad weekend too. I have just come to the conclusion that I am a cheater. I cheat on the weekends. I am trying to stop, but it has been difficult as this is the first time in my life that I have had to try to lose weight. I'm learning how to change the way I look at food. It is a difficult thing to do! Anyway, the point is that I am still losing consistently, although slowly. Just stick to it.

I am walking like I need a cane this afternoon. Between the gazelle (which has made my right calf feel like it has a rock inside), falling yesterday (on my right side of course), and my knee hurting (a combo of the gazelle and fall??) I am limping. Not a pretty sight. Oh well!!

I have to share a silly story. I was cleaning/organizing yesterday and found a pile of clothes in the bottom of my closet that I thought were old/couldn't wear. I found a pair of new capris that I bought right before I gained my second round of weight in the fall. They were tight when I bought them and then couldn't wear them when I gained the weight. I put them on this morning and they fit better than when I bought them. I thought that was a great NSV!! :D Made me feel good anyway.

Well I guess I better get with it...I need to make something to take to work with me for lunches this week. I have started doing this and it has really helped. Any suggestions? ;)

ontarget 06-19-2005 08:21 PM

melissa, we are the fallers, aren't we? i'm glad neither of us got hurt and could laugh at ourselves.

congrats on the clothes fitting better. what a great surprise! that has to have you smiling.

what about a layered salad? you could "ice" it with equal amts of ff sour cream and ff mayo.

andreaphilip3 06-19-2005 08:23 PM

hi guys im home....
i did better than i thought but not as well as i wanted... the no dessert thing fell out but i only had 2 small choc. chip cookies and a teeny tiny square of cake(like a few bites worth) also had some fresh pineapple& drank 1/2 g water while i was there plus i had some watermelon bf i left here and i had a healthy breakfast.

septembersgoal 06-19-2005 08:27 PM

Mmmm...Sandra that sounds good but I wouldn't have a clue what to do! I told you I don't know why, but I am hopelessly uncreative in the kitchen. If I have a base recipe to go from I can modify, but I am no good at coming up with the initial idea.

Andrea, it sounds like you didn't do too badly! Better than me, I must say.

QUESTION!! The CFC has Campbell's Southwestern Chicken Soup checked as core, but it has rice in it? What do you guys think about that? Is it just b/c there is such a small amount? You think its really core?

andreaphilip3 06-19-2005 08:30 PM

thanks but i didnt mention the lasagne i ate or the chick parm but like i said, thank god for phase!!! i also didnt have lunch either.

WWEnthusiast 06-19-2005 08:31 PM

Lady...Wendie IS WW watcher POINTS with the points ALREADY mapped out for you for the day....Depending on your weight - determines the points you should have each day, instead of second guessing.....I have failed at core unfortunately :-( so it's back to points for me. So many of the girls here are doing wonderfully - I just had a hard time with it.
So I am counting points Wendies Way. Each day a different points target, you don't have to think about it and it shakes up the metabolism, and it does work.. But if Core is what works for you...stay with it. Many here have been soooooo successful.
It's a great program but ME personally could not get the "I am satisfied/full thing" down pat. I need MORE structure and control, but that is ME.
This is a great board for moral and program support...everyone here is Soooooo supportive and wonderful....stay with them and they will steer you right......
My decision came soley on my failure to be able to stay with core....guess I am just a measure and weighing kind of girl, and that is what worked for me.
As they say here, do what works for ya!!!
Good luck on your weight loss journey......you'll do great!!!

Any Challenge Ideas?
I don't want anyone to think that they have to participate in these challenges, but they have been REALLY helpful to me personally. So its Sunday, and time for another. :D Any ideas? Here's some that I have been pondering:
*Water Intake
*Staying within weekly wpas (again)
*Fruit/Veggie Intake
*Another choose your own challenge week?
Any other ideas?

I Am So Disgusted With Myself....

..and have avoided posting cuz I am on some sort of anti-core binge! So weird and unexpected?

Went to WI yesterday -lost 1 lb (which I'm sure has found me again). Then was picking up groceries - yes I was hungry and for some reason got a box of Whippets (those chocolate covered marshmallow cookies) and then opened the box in the car and devoured about 6 of them on the way home? Came in whereupon I quickly inhaled two pieces of the cheese pizza dd had made for lunch - found some leftover frozen bday cake in the freezer - ate that too......also had an ice cream cone - and yes, popcorn at the movies. (Saw Batman Begins - highly recommended).

So am I going crazy? Today was not much better as the day started w/a trip to the bagel shop to get bagels for dh (father's day of course!), ds and I had breakfast there - and the rest of the day has gone downhill.

I am now trying to stop this binge I'm on and hopefully back at work and on schedule will help. Have already packed lunch and core snacks but I do feel terrible.

Finished working onthe CD and pics for the brother's bday present and sending this off to Florida tomorrow- this was really stressing me out.

Welcome to Andrea!

Lady - glad you are able to get some immediate attention for your head! Sending good vibes and thoughts your way! Hope it is nothing serious.

Melissa - poor you! Hope you are feeling better and are not limping around too much. I too am a big baby and hate falls and scratches!
Hope you are enjoying your "new" capris!

Angela -hope your Dad had fun at the family bbq!

LindaNH - remember it's feedback NEVER failure - hang in there!

Oh ya - took dd shopping on saturday - which is always "interesting". We did okay w/the strapless bra, flip flops/slippers but then came the Shoes!!! She needs some dressy type of shoe to wear to her grad party (black fancy dress). She does not like to show her feet! so won't wear sandals or anything open- this is pretty limiting. Wants to wear "pumps" - but what she wants to wear are like 3 inch skinny heels - she can barely walk in them and I just don't think it's appropriate for a 13 yr old anyways. I was leaning towards the smaller (like 2 inch) heels. Well there has been a lot of pouting and anger around here - I basically said it seems we can't agree so I guess you can't get new shoes and will wear what you have....we are at a standstill now. She is again asking to go shoe shopping (maybe next weekend) but we will need to discuss her "expectations" BEFORE we go!

Hope everyone has survived their weekend. Sounds like many of us have had some "challenges" this weekend so we can all leap back onto that wagon together!

Is this one big enough for everyone?? ;)

septembersgoal 06-19-2005 09:57 PM

OK, since everyone apparently has better things to do than sit in front of their computer tonight, I made an executive decision on the week's challenge. Hope it is helpful to someone!! :D

We're home from the restaurant and I did SO well! I am just as proud of myself as can be! They were all having baskets and baskets of chips and salsa, then enchiladas and tacos and rice and beans ... you know, the GOOD stuff! I had a salad with grilled shrimp and no dressing. I also had no chips and salsa, no tortillas, and nothing to drink but water. I left there feeling very good.

I won't stay on, but wanted to report in with my wise choices. Oh and I tried a little piece of that chicken that we grilled today -- quite good! In fact, it was very very good. I'm having it tomorrow for lunch with some broccoli. It wasn't sweet but had a really good "professionally grilled" taste. Hard to describe, but very good.

septembersgoal 06-19-2005 10:52 PM

:bravo: Kathy, I admire your discipline! Chips and salsa are so hard to pass up.
