WOW-Vivian - way to go on that fabulous loss - you did great! :bravo: :cp: :cb: :bravo: :cp: You should feel very proud of yourself!
Kathy- I agree w/you - I think sometimes dh realized how cranky I am and tries to save his a$$ so to speak. We had a good session w/the therapist who did agree that w/dh being home there is no reason he should not devote 2 hrs per day to helping around the house. I am sick and tired of coming home from work to cook dinner every day and do the laundry on the weekends. I think men walk around sometimes w/blinders on and don't see what has to be done. You can bet if the tables were turned I would make sure things were taken care of and there was hot meal every night! We also spoke about our upcoming trip with I know will be stressful for all of us. Dh will have a hard time "living" w/everyone in a hotel room and trying to get along -I am already getting anxious but we do have some "strategies" that might help. Vickie- sounds like your dinner went well! And all this water drinking makes me feel very guilty! Angela- my older ds saw Batman and also loved it. I am not a huge batman fan but dh wants to go so if we have a "sitter" tonight we might go try and see it! LindaNH- thanks for trying the chips - sounds like they are a good fix when required. Good luck w/cleaning the house for the "royal visit". Sandra - hang in there and don't fret! Slow and steady wins the race...... (I hate that "slow" part tho!) Cher- good luck w/your new "visitor" I'm sure the kids will enjoy having the fish for the summer. Well ds's play was pretty cute - they even had the toddler and infant classes on stage (most were crying of course) and it was great fun. We did go out for dinner after w/dh, ds and MIL - to Red Lobster. Mini pig out included 2 of those cheddar biscuits, salad w/dressing on side, scallops/lobster tail combo w/baked potato. I was pretty full, and the scale is showing it right before WI but I am not too concerned cuz I know I consumed a lot of sodium yesterday and it should eventually disappear...right??? :?: Dh is out today and I am taking dd shopping -usually not a supremely fun experience as our "tastes" are very different. She needs shoes, strapless bra for her grad dress and a new bathing suit for Florida. Biggest problem is I think we have to take 6 yr old w/us and he is not the most patient shopper. There is a playcenter/daycare at one of the malls, so might go there if he is so inclined. Then we can have at least one hour to do our thing. May end up eating lunch out- but I think there is a subway or other places where I can get a salad or something not too bad. Time to get dressed and go to my meeting and yes my mantra right now is slow and steady wins the race.......I will try and keep this in mind. Thanks for all the blinks by the way! :D Frouf |
Hi Girls! I'll have to come back later to respond to posts. I slept through my wake up time 7:00 and didn't get up until 8:15. Jim is on the treadmill now. I just cannot go straight from the bed onto the treadmill. He's done in about 5 minutes then my turn. I stilll have to shower and eat breakfast after the treadmill to be ready to go by 10:45. I have errands to run after the babysitting so I can't even skimp on the getting ready part! The sleep felt great though!
I'll be back! |
Mornin' chicks! :sunny: Well, its not very early anymore, but I got to sleep in! Yeah!! I have lots that I want to get done today, so I will have to pry myself away from the computer. :) We are trying to do some rearranging in our townhouse. When we moved in I had this feeling that we wouldn't be here very long, and I never really decorated or anything. In fact there are several boxes (and most of our picture frames, etc.) that are still packed away! So I think we are going to move some rooms around, etc. DH has to work all afternoon, so I plan to get a lot done while he's gone. ;)
Sandra, thanks for answering my question. I don't know if I am brave enough to try those biscuits though! Vivian, :bravo: on your loss! Linda, I hate to hear the frustration that you are experiencing! But I am glad that you have "figured out" what kind of "person" you are. We are all wired differently and that's why I am glad that we have healthy options. Good luck to you in whatever you do. And still come visit us!! :^: Frouf, sounds like you have an eventful day ahead...maybe too eventful? Your red lobster dinner sounds soooo yummy. ;) for w/i this morning! You sound very positive and resolved though...that's great! Vickie, hope that you enjoy yourself today!! |
Morning everyone! I got up at 6 today, and spent 2 hours in the garden. It's starting to look pretty nice, I've got to say. It's a little frustrating, because it's a very large garden, and I'm only one person, but I think I've whipped it into shape for today at least. Darn weeds!
Anyway, hope you're feeling better today Kathy. Froufie, enjoy shopping today (or try to). I'm glad my girls aren't picky about clothes yet. As long as it's got sparkles on it, they're good. :D Melissa, I love home rearranging. Have fun! Linda, you sound more at peace with things than you've been in a long time. I'm glad you've found something that makes you happy AND works. For sure keep checking in here - we want to know how you're doing! And everyone else, hope you have productive, fun weekends. I have a mountain of dishes to do, and mountains of laundry to put away, so I'd better get to it. My whole body is aching from all the garden work lately, but hey, maybe I'm toning my legs and rear end with all the hoeing, bending, squatting, and weed-pulling! I can hope, right? Later! Angela |
Good morning! I woke up to the sound of what I swore was a Jolly Green Giant dentist working in my garage! The garage is right under the bedroom I was sleeping in, and DH had started on his shelf building early. The drill noises are just about to set my teeth on edge! Little DD must have heard it too, because she got up and out of the house in a big hurry! Big DD was irritated because she's on the other side of the house upstairs and the inlaws' dogs were barking under her window. Great way to wake up, huh? Everybody's cranky, except for DH because he's playing with power tools.
Everybody seems to be doing great! Angela in the garden, Frouf eating at my favorite place (Red Lobster -- yummmmm!), Melissa's going to re-arrange the house, and Cindy got ice cream!! As for Core snacks? I have no earthly idea. FF/SF pudding, applesauce, carrots ... ?? I can't think of anymore right now. Oh and popcorn if you can stop at a little mini bag. Linda, I know EXACTLY what you mean, girl. You and I are the very same way. I think it's the years of planning and writing and journaling. I *HAVE* to write it down so I can plan what I'm taking to work, etc. I know you've all heard my stories before! Even this week when I was eating low-carb, or trying to, I was still calculating the points for it. I've come too far to slip now, but my morning weight (empty and nekkid) was ... are you ready? 159. Oh holy moly, that just can't happen! I canNOT start the cycle of regaining and losing. I had been doing so well and I don't know what happened but if I don't get a grip on it very soon, I'm gonna be one mad pup! So I'm off to find some breakfast, clean out the fridge, inventory and then go to the store. I've already had my first 16 ounces of water and am starting on the second. Sigh ... it's gonna be a long day. |
Man you guys have been productive this morning!! Angela, I'm sure that your gardening is shaping up more than just your plants--all that work has to be doing good for your body too! Kathy, sorry you had such a rude awakening this morning...but at least he's building that shelf! ;)
Oh and I forgot to answer about the Core snacks...Kathy's suggestions are good...sf/ff pudding, applesauce, fruit, veggies, making ff dip to go with them....I've had to learn how to snack on healthy things! It also helps if you can plan ahead a little and prepare recipes for core snacks, like the pineapple lush. I made that this week and snacked on it at work. Also, if you want to use points, a serving of crackers or something like that it always tasty too. Gotta go get something done today!! |
hi guys!
mind if i join in? i seem to be doing well on core so i hope to keep it up&hope to actually join a meeting next week. today is the day that i take 'off' and tomorrow there is a f day celeb. so i will do the best i can and resume full force monday. hope yall havin a great weekend! |
anyone know how many points in a cheese personal pan pizza? dwlz says 4 for 1 piece so im guessing 16 then?(i think its cut in 4)
|
Like from Pizza Hut? Look at this:
http://www.yum.com/nutrition/menu.asp Maybe it'll help? I selected pan pizza, then Lovers line, then veggie lovers (figured that would be the lowest). Then when it gave me the summary, I took off the vegetables and just left the cheese. For the whole thing, it said 560 calories, 21 grams of fat, and 4 grams of fiber. That calculated to 12 points for the whole thing, so 1/4 would just be 3! A little better! |
The Dining Out Companion says that a personal pan cheese pizza is 14 points total. I think that they probably put more cheese on it when its just a plain cheese pizza. You might be better off going with a small thin crust pizza and splitting it with someone, so there would be less crust (points).

thanks guys.... ill just go w 14 then thank you!

I have the craziest experiences when walking Murphy. You remember I told you about being chased by Cletus and his friend? Well today I just took Murph out to pee, not even for a long walk. He was walking at the bottom of an embankment and me at the top (long leash), when suddenly a dog from a house behind us came running up and starting barking! Luckily he was fenced in, but Murphy managed to pull me down the hill...not on my feet. Now I have huge scratches down my calf. Beautiful. The things that I get into. Off to shower and clean my leg off.
|
Oh no!! It shouldn't be something we're laughing at but I can just imagine how it looked! I'm glad you weren't seriously hurt!
|
No, you should laugh. It was ridiculous. It really hurts! I'm such a baby about these things. I can't imagine what the neighbors thought, if anyone saw me. :o Oh well!
On a completely different note, I have decided to make a non-core dinner tonight. Its a baked chicken tortilla recipe that I have missed since being on core. The only things that I will have to count are the tortillas and the cheese, as this recipe is too good to use ff cheese. ;) I am excited about it! Isn't that silly. I am also thinking about making a crustless strawberry pie for dessert, it sounds so good and I think some friends might be coming over later--I'm sure they would enjoy it too! Better go get ready and head to the store, it looks like its going to rain! :rain: |
