Kick Butt Kierie! Thats Awesome! :) <does happy dance>

Angela-How exciting! I think that's a good idea to hook her up with the friend from Mexico. We have a lot of international students at MU, and I think just having people who go the extra mile to talk and be friends helps so much with acclimating to a new environment. Also, there are forums for everything, right? So maybe there's a forum online somewhere for Colombian people who have moved to cold states! :) Seriously, I bet there's something where she could maybe even find people nearby to talk to when she's homesick?

Kathy--You might as well just put Easter decorations on the thing now. I vote for keeping it up all year as a rotating holiday tree. Start a new tradition! Put the easter baskets under it...drink green beer by the lights of it...put little flags on it...oh yeah, I love it!

I spent a good chunk of my WPA on yummy fabulous sushi last night, and loved every second of it. It has been soooo very long since I've had sushi. ::drool::

I know that a bunch of you are doing the presidents challenge thing, but have any of you seen the www.americaonthemove.org stuff? It's one of those things where you track your steps, and whatnot. You can compare your progress to others, and they track your steps against famous american trails. So, you could see how far along the Oregon Trail or something you've walked so far! heh. I just signed up. I am curious how many steps I'd put on at work these days.

Katpo 02-13-2005 11:15 AM

Hey, guess what else? I think I've decided to do a "While You Were Out" thing for DH's birthday in May. Not actually the real show, but he's going to be gone for 9 days and I'm working on getting all our friends over here to close in the LR (also known as the Christmas Tree room -- ) into a study for him with French doors, guy furniture, bookshelves, etc. His parents will help out with the money part for a new desk and chair, and my brother is an architech and used to work for a remodeling company. All I really need is 2 walls and a set of French doors. We don't even have to have electrical outlets.

It's not all decided, but a lot of people are supposed to be thinking about it and coming up with ideas for me. It would be so cool if we could pull it off!

Katpo 02-13-2005 11:23 AM

Wow, that American on the Move thing is cool!! I registered too, for the Alaska Military Highway walk. I figured I can for sure get in 3571 steps a day!

Vickie 02-13-2005 11:30 AM

Kathy, I just saw your post about the Christmas tree! I must have missed it because I was posting at the same time as you. I really have to say that I'm speechless!! That would drive me stark raving mad even though Christmas is my favorite holiday.

But a 12 foot tree must be a ton of work....up and down. I'd be tempted to leave it up all year round and just vacuum it!

Vickie 02-13-2005 11:37 AM

Angela, congratulations on your new SIL! I don't have any great advice but I think contact from you will go a long way toward making her feel welcomed!

Kathy, that's a great idea you have for your Hubby's office. I think you should go for it. Is this something he's been wanting. We don't use or living room either. We tried to buy a house without one. We really just wanted a big Great Room. For a long time our LR had no furniture in it. Now it has our old FR furniture, a 35 inch TV and my treadmill! Don't care what anyone else thinks....it works for us! I threatened to make it a game room for a while because Jim loves pinball and we both love video poker!

Katpo 02-13-2005 11:47 AM

We have three bedrooms upstairs and he keeps saying when either of the girls moves out he's going to make one into a study. I'm sure they'll be gone in the next year or two, but I'd still like to have bedrooms up there. We don't use that room at all, and it's a nice size and even dividing it from the dining room will still leave the dining room a decent size. I'm hoping my brother can come over soon and give me some advice and maybe a rough estimate. His BD is May 17 and he's leaving on the 20th, coming back on the 29th. His parents usually go all out on his birthday (oh to have lots of money!) so I know they'll jump right in with me on it. We'll see!

Spring_Thaw 02-13-2005 12:02 PM

Kathy--That idea for the LR sounds really cool. What a nice suprise that will be!

Hey, I have a question for the rest of you. Does anyone get the WW magazine? Do you like it? I was thinking about getting it.

--Spring

Katpo 02-13-2005 12:07 PM

I used to read the magazine in the doctor's office waiting room and always found a lot of very good stuff inside. I mean, it was interesting from cover to cover. I've just never bought one though. Can you buy it on the newsstand instead of a subscription? Just curious.

Vickie 02-13-2005 12:33 PM

I love my WW magazine. I kept it up even when I wasn't actively pursuing my weight loss program. It's the only subscription I have right now. You can definitely buy it on the newstand because I just saw it at Barnes and Noble the other day.

Speaking of Barnes and Noble.....I just bought another book there on Friday. Jim found it for me. It's called "The Right Bite - Outsmart 43 Scientifically Proven Fat Triggers and Beat the Dieter's Curse". I can't wait to read it. They only thing I know about it is that there are questionairres to help you determine what your triggers are. I think I might be surprised about mine.

Froufy 02-13-2005 02:41 PM

Ye Olde Stomache Doth Protest Too Much!!!

Well it was YUMMY - but boy am I paying for it now! Turns out you didn't have to have the whole table d'hote menu which was a good thing. I had the wild mushroom soup w/vermouth and truffles (they were out of the roasted red pepper & carrot soup which was my first choice). Then I had the fish (anyone ever had escolar? - I have never heard of it before). Anyhow it was FANTABULOUS - two pieces (about 2 x 2 inches) - seared on the outside (crispy) and juicy on the inside - quite amazing, on a bed of white basmati rice and veggies on the side (asparagus, spaghetti squash, beet, zucchini slice and red pepper slice). Now there was some butter sauce on the plate (chive & saffron butter for the fish), and it was quite tasty - but I remember while eating having a flash thought of - "gee this tastes pretty rich - I hope it doesn't upset my tummy seeing as I have not been eating that much "fat" in a while."

NO DESSERT OR WINE FOR ME - which was good (just water w/lemon slice). After dinner we decided to go to a movie! (Hitch - it was pretty hilarious), snacked on a small bag of popcorn and diet pepsi.

But when I got home is when the tummy troubles started - lots of gurgling and fast sprints to the washroom (if you know what I mean! :o ). Took some pepto bismol and eventually fell asleep - got to sleep in a bit (10:30 am)...and still had some "issues" - more pepto bismol. Trying to do laundry but feeling crappy (and my lower back hurts again - I think this is again treadmill related?).

So had some tea and a bagel about 1 hour ago - and it seems OKAY for now? I really think I over did it - but not so much with the amount of food, but with the "richness" of the food.

congrats to Kierie for the fabulous weigh-in AWESOME job! :encore: :encore:

Kathy - I also vote for keeping the tree up - you'll be the first on our block to be ready this December! :merry: (gee never thought I would be able to work this one in before xmas! ha ha ha).

And your renovations sound great - I'm sure your dh will be flabbergasted if you can pull this one off.

Vickie - guess your tummy troubles are over? (boy can I relate!)

Angela - congrats on the new SIL in the family - sounds like you will be a great resource and help to her as she tries to adapt to a new home and country! My congratulations to your brother! :lucky:

DH is taking little one to see the Heffalump movie and they are begging me to come - while I am a bit better (no washroom visits in a while) I'm not sure I'm up to is and I think the smell of popcorn will not help at all! :p

Altho a good sign is I am feeling a bit hungry now so I might try and find something else to nibble on. Also have all the ingredients for a "weekend soup making" and I want to get that done today too so I have lunches for work.

Also want to make some more (core )creamy brown rice pudding tonight - not sure I have any evaporated milk tho?? :(

Later,

Froufie

P.S. I think I have decided I NEED to visit a warmer climate for a while (the only time I can get away seems to be march break week - might just take my 13 yr old w/me - if she's talking to me that is!  ). I hear a beach in Puerto Vallarta calling my name!

Katpo 02-13-2005 02:48 PM

Oh no, Froufy! I'm glad you had a great time during the dinner and movie, and that the trouble didn't start until later on. Poor thing!!!

The dinner sounds GREAT! Fish is my favorite but I don't think I've ever heard of that kind either. You did a great job staying on program!

mumto2 02-13-2005 06:10 PM

Good evening everyone! :)

I need help with the oil. I just can't seem to get it in every day. :?: How important is it?
Any ideas on what to do with it? I don't really like olive oil, :( what has the best flavor?

Thanks.
Lisa

Katpo 02-13-2005 06:16 PM

Well ... I'm there with you but when I eat olive oil, I just pretend I'm at Macaroni Grill and have that yummy bread to dip in it!! You have to make sure to get the very best, because there is a taste difference. I drip a little bit on my baked potato every time, and when I have salad I drip a little more on there and mix it up. I also cook my egg in it. I'm sure I don't get all the oil in per day but it's close. It's supposedly important but I don't think everybody does it yet they still lose.

On those same lines, I usually get in my 2 servings of milk but never get in all the vegetables and fruits I'm supposed to.

mumto2 02-13-2005 06:23 PM

Thanks Kathy! ;)
I'm usually pretty good with the fruits and veges; lots of salads and vege soup or cheesy broccoli soup. I also eat a banana in the morning and an apple in the afternoon. Just had sf/ff white chocolate pudding, which wasn't very good; although the dog is acting like a maniac to get to it.  I should have made the sf/ff chocolate fudge; that one tastes like the real thing. I lose about a lb. or less each week, and I thought maybe if I got in the oil I would lose more. :dizzy:

Lisa
:flow1:
one for every 5 lb. loss

Vickie 02-13-2005 08:32 PM

AWWWW Frouf, sorry you're sick. I've no doubt it was from the rich food. I laughed when you said you felt crappy....no pun intended, I'm sure! I'm feeling ok but not great. I'll be eating some popcorn to see if I can get things moving :o . I'm eating enough fiber and getting enough water. I just can't get rid of all that darn meat!

Lisa, I use the extra virgin olive oil because it has less "olive" taste. It's funny, I love olives but I don't want the flavor in my oil. Whatever I cook, I saute in the canola or olive oil...even if the recipe says to saute in Pam spray. That helps me get my oil in. I also have a Core "tweak". My Smart Balance Margarine is largely canola and olive oil. I always use that every day because I need some on my veggies to get them down. I consider this to be my good oil on days when I don't saute. On days that I do saute, then I count points for the margarine.

KO 02-13-2005 09:09 PM

OK I'm working 2 windows So i can see page 8 and 9 and respond!
Lisa your V-day dinner sounds nummy maybe i can do that tommorrow night! in re to Olive Oil When I make a veggie and pasta dinner ( haven't done this yet with core) I nuke veggies with garlic Olive oil and whatever spices usually italian and red pepper flakes works with Spinach Broccoli Zuchini you name it and you could either toss it with whole wheat pasta or keep it as a side dish I do it this way so you don't get the oily factor I hate oily feeling food
Vickie I thought The appleberry crisp (it got named that here i couldn't remember what it was supposed to be!) could have used some splenda and cinamon to enhance the fruit flavor but its good Maybe try it with some vanilla yogurt or FF plain yogurt with SFFF vanilla pudding mix mixed in?
Angela That ROCKS that you are getting a new SIL!
Kathy one year when we had the fake tree at my moms it stayed up till feb 28th it looked too pretty to take down! The while you were out for your DH Sounds AWESOME
Frouf Your night sounds GREAT and the dinner has me drooling I wonder if you can google the name of the fish? I hear you on the tummy trauma anything overly creamy/fatty and I'm making friends with the throne

ok now me lol
I tried on some of my new clothes today (Haven't gotten to the suits yet) The pants are all too big! Usually I wear 18Ws but I had the Testicle Effect as I call it where it bags at the crotchall region and even the thighs were baggy ofcourse the gut was delightfully comfy but I'm exchanging for 16's if i can find em
OK the wine tasting and chocolate tasting! I only used 6 pts! I don't think I had more that 4 oz total but to be safe I allotted 3 I stayed away from the super sinful stuff and had 5 pretzels and a smattering of dip 2 choc 1 raspberry honey mustard (which followed us home somehow)
Dinner
We went to this place called Salsa Chatham and I was worred b/c it's texmex
Luckily they had a grill entree with 2 core friendly side options YAY and i definitely got my oil in lol
Tonight hopefully i'll try on the other stuff

wribbenn 02-14-2005 12:04 AM

Greetings everyone
sounds like everyone had a great time dining out and staying OP-(or close to it)thats great...

Kathy - sounds like a plan...

Froufie - hope you are feeling better.

Lisa-I agree with Vickie the extra virgin oil has a better lighter taste.

Angela - wonderful news aboutthe new SIL ...

Vickie - I am so happy you shared your milk ideas with me... it has helped tremendously... I got brave and blended sf/ff pastasio, banana, some vanilla, ff yogurt , milk , and some Ice cubes , together, the out come tastes just like spamoni ice cream. It was awsome DH thought so too.

Everyone have a great valentine's day... I will be going thru a series of tests tomorrow , and having a minor procedure done ...nothing major ... I hope . need to be at the hospital at 6am so must go to bed now .... hopefully I will be back and running in a day or so.... take care
wriben - :grouphug:

Vickie 02-14-2005 08:50 AM

Kierie, sounds like you had a ball and were very successful at staying OP. The clothes fest sounds like it is going well too! Isn't this program grand. I went down a size too but I'm shopping in my closet for the time being. I have at least one or two more sizes in my closet. I'll be supplementing with a fun new thing or two!

Wriben, hope your procedure goes well and I'm really glad to hear that your milk consumption has been a bit easier.

Vickie 02-14-2005 08:55 AM

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Hubby and I are going out to lunch but we haven't decided where yet. He has Dr.'s appointment late this afternoon and may be getting a cortisone shot in his shoulder. He has a partial tear in his rotar cuff and arthritis. Keeps him from laying down in bed all night. He gets up and down all night and sleeps in the Lazy Boy recliner in our room.

My best Valentine's Day present would be for his shoulder not to hurt anymore.

kally 02-14-2005 10:20 AM

For that milk and pistachio dish, how much and how please?

Froufy 02-14-2005 10:23 AM

Happy Valentine's Day To All!

Well did I mention I love pink....and hearts - this is one of my favorite days!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TO EVERYONE - hope you have a wonderful day!

I am wearing a pink sweater seat and grey pants/shoes (and my pearls!). DD and youngest ds made us some chocolate covered strawberries and a little bag of of rose petals and chocolate hugs (will let dh eat the chocolates!!) which was presented to us this morning.

Now - let me describe what I can see from my desk at work - two boxes of VERY FANCY chocolate truffles, a box of chocolate covered cherries, a bag of red licorice, a box of hazelnut seashell chocolates, some chocolate mini-cupcakes things and a bag of kisses......yes right in my line of sight - across from my desk at the printer area!....there was even a red foil covered heart on my chair!

But will I have any??? NO - BECAUSE I AM A STRONG FROUFIE :strong: No piece of chocolate or candy shall pass these lips! :tape: (in fact if one does I'm in big trouble - cuz as we all know that will lead to more and more.....and....well you know....).

Congrats to Kierie - sounds like you had a great time and were so in control! Good for you! :bravo: and how nice to fit into a smaller size!!! :cp: I can't wait to go "shopping" in my cupboard!

Vickie - have fun at lunch - sorry to hear about dh's shoulder problems - hope he can get some help with that pain!!!

Good luck Wribben - hope all goes well - sending good vibes and hugs your way! :grouphug:

I actually did some "exercises" this morning on my bedroom floor before showering (2 sets of 25 situps, about 8 pushups - such a weakling, and various legs lifts - 12 on each side).....just in case I do end up on a beach somewhere - I have about a month to "prepare" ha ha ha.

We are expecting an ice storm this evening - sounds pretty nasty - will still try to drive dd to after school activity (6-8 pm) and then tap class (8:30-9:30 pm) - hope the driving doesn't get too bad!!! I am hoping somewhere in between to do some more exercise (either video or treadmill depending on my mood?).

Later,

Froufie:)

P.S. Thought my tummy was better, but a fast dash to the washroom just moments ago proves me wrong!!!!!!! :p Dare I eat my yogurt? :o

Katpo 02-14-2005 10:40 AM

Hey, guys! Happy VD to you all!!!

Well, I had a brush with death last night -- I fell down the stairs! You know how I like to be dramatic, right? I am in mortal PAIN right now, all on my left side. Left hip and shoulder and neck. Yeeeeouch, I wish I hadn't done that!!

I was wondering what you all would think about splitting the support board into two different threads: one for support (for weigh-ins and congratulations, etc) and another for general chat. That way we won't have to scroll thru one looking for the other, etc. Just a thought ...

And until we do, I'll post my weigh-in here. Yes, I am going to give myself a Monday morning weigh-in time. I still am not going to do meetings because (1) the ones at work are on Wednesdays at noon, which is also the time when I do my mentoring at the elementary school and (2) I know what to do, and can't see paying to lose 8-10 pounds and (3) there aren't any convenient meeting places (and times) near me. Sooooo ...

150. Darn it. I drank NO water yesterday, not a drop. Did have 2 cokes though, and some Bloody Mary mix (didn't have any juice and was craving V-8) so I know I've got water and salt messing me up today. I will start RIGHT NOW slamming the water.

Starting Over Again 02-14-2005 11:12 AM

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I just got finished catching up on all the news from this weekend! Congratulations to Froufie, Pink, and Kierie on your WI's!! :cp: :cp: :cp: And Kathy, I'm sorry the scale is stuck at 150 but I think you're right about salt probably being the main culprit. And it's a wonder you weren't seriously hurt ... if I remember from the pictures you posted a while ago, you have some major stairs at your house! Please be careful and take it easy! Vickie, your comment about wishing your husband would no longer be in pain was so sweet ... I know he is so thrilled to have you as his one and only Valentine! Froufie, I'm sorry you're still having tummy troubles but I'm glad you and DH enjoyed your special dinner out. And what will power to resist the chocolate! I've been eating like a fiend all weekend so get out the rolling pin. But so far, so good today! Of course, who knows what the rest of the day holds? But my intentions are good! :)

Kathy, different threads might be a good idea. I think for a while the thread was started fresh every Monday, wasn't it? At the very least that might be something to do so that it won't get so long. Or I guess even a daily general thread might work ... something similar to the daily menu thread ... and the WI thread could be a weekly one. I'm not choosy, so whatever everyone else wants works just fine for me! :)

aghiowa 02-14-2005 11:49 AM

I like the idea of starting a fresh thread each Monday. Froufie, I am so impressed with your resolve. What a major accomplishment to stay away from those chocolates. And when you manage to do it, at the end of the day you can say that not an ounce of chocolate passed your lips on your favorite holiday - and nothing else will seem hard, right? :D

I am also resolving to stay away from any sugar for 2 weeks. Just gotta break my body from it's cravings. I did it before, I can do it again. Had a delicious clementine (little mandarin orange thing) for snack... Time to go clean house, do laundry, and dishes.

Oh yes, today I took an adorable stuffed dog with a red heart balloon tied around it's tummy, a bag of Cheetos (dh's favorite) and a card to dh's work. In the card I put a few rose petals and a poem - Roses are red, violets are blue, here's a hint, of what I'll do to you... and then drew a picture of him with a blindfold on. Hee hee. He's been bugging me nonstop for clues to what we're doing this weekend. So I gave him one.

OK, I really gotta go now...
Angela :)

Froufy 02-14-2005 12:16 PM

Oh Angela - that is so cute! I bet he'll love it - and he must be going insance trying to figure out the big surprise for this weekend!

And the "sugar" thing is a very hard thing to do - but once you're off of it - I swear you will NO LONGER CRAVE IT - that is one of the reasons why I can sit here staring at all this chocolate and not want any! A miracle really!

Kathy - poor you - OUCH! Definitely take it easy - hope you're not too bruised?...and I agree that all that salt can't help weigh-in - keep guzzling the h20.

I myself would prefer ONE thread - and a new one every Monday morning is a great idea! I find it much easier to read and post on one main thread than have to visit several - get all the news very "efficiently"!!! (except I also do like the daily menu thread as well). Will wait and see other comments and suggestions....??

Now time to heat up my soup (but I"m having dreadful premonitions of accidentally spilling some of this TOMATO BASED soup onto my pale pink sweater - I am a disaster waiting to happen! :o )...wish me luck!

Hungry Froufie

Katpo 02-14-2005 12:36 PM

Alrighty, one thread is fine with me too -- but I agree it would be good if we started a new one each Monday. I was just looking for a way to simplify and organize our rambling thoughts better! As if!

Does anyone ever go into the chat? I see they're organized into several "groups." I wonder what it would take to get our own little group started? It would be fun to just talk back and forth like that too!

KO 02-14-2005 12:56 PM

Good Luck today Wribben!
Vickie Have A great Lunch! Question Would DH consider Acupuncture for the Pain I have Chronic Pain (from Spasticity due to CP and Fun From Fybromyalgia) and Alt Med can be great
Froufy in the Face of that Chocolate You are the FROUFY OF STEEL! I love Pink! Tonight I'm wearing a Red Twinset with kindof an animal print on it and some sparkles it sounds Heinous but it's very classy
KATHY OMG are you Ok? did you hit your head? Take it easy today.
Happy V-day Deborah How is the Oprahcising?
Angela That's so cute!
Threadwise I like one thread and maybe we can combine a WI and Menu thread?
Not much goign on today I'm being lazy b/c the weather is crappy and I'm a bit sore
going to spark up the coffee pot and BBL
Kierie :)

aghiowa 02-14-2005 12:57 PM

I've never gone into the chat, but it would be fun. Depends on what time it is though - I'm a little busy here with the munchkins, until after the "magic" bedtime. :)

And then, I go down to the theater room and dance my heart out. (On my ddr game, for those of you who don't know.) What category do you all think it should be on the Presidential Fitness site? I always just put it in a Dancing, General, Fast. But I wish they had an actual category for it. I've started using my arms too - I'll keep them up and punch out in the direction of the arrow, like aerobics. I figure I can use all the exercise I can get. I'm sure I look ridiculous, but it's so fun I don't care.

Angela

cher123 02-14-2005 01:21 PM

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone. I've been kind of scarce, but I do try to pop in and at least read the threads once in a while. I had a pretty good weigh-in--just a little over half a pound down, but at least it's in the right direction. I'd been a little sick and cooped up with the kids for a couple of rainy days, and I thought I'd been doing a bit too much comfort eating.

I am pretty proud of myself for yesterday. We spent the day at my parents' and they've gotten into some really unhealthy eating habits lately--lots of take-out and processed stuff. I was able to stop myself at one hot biscuit, which are usually a trigger food for me. I also just had a small serving of the (restaurant-made) shepherd's pie and filled up on fruit instead. There was also lots of candy and a Boston cream pie, which I skipped. That was less of a challenge, though, since I don't really have much of a sweet tooth anymore. Good thing, too--my husband took pity on someone's kid selling for charity at work and came home with 20 candy bars! Of course he's the type who seems to be able to lose weight on 3 meals a day and a HUGE (think 1000 calorie) bedtime snack. Well, let him eat Reese's.

I showed my parents all my WW stuff, since they had expressed an interest. My dad is diabetic and has been kind of struggling with it lately. He was off insulin for a while, but has had to go back on recently. I really hope they look into WW or at least some kind of improvements.

We're putting off our V-Day celebration until next weekend, so I have some time to plan. I've been really craving some lobster, so I think it will probably involve that in some way. There's a fantastic fish market near here, so I'm looking forward to going shopping.

Keep up the good work!

aghiowa 02-14-2005 02:23 PM

Great job resisting all the yummies! You're doing wonderfully!

Angela

LKTS 02-14-2005 02:52 PM

:hi: everyone! Happy v-day :chockiss:

Here's something I discovered this weekend - peel and chop up a sweet potato and some red potatoes. Boil until soft then mash with a bit of ff evaporated milk. :hun: Yum yum. The sweet potato makes everything a little sweet and the whole thing is fun and orange.

KO 02-14-2005 03:26 PM

Cher Great JOB
Angela I can almost see you getting down with your bad self with the DDR I WANT ONE!
Laura that sounds delish!

Katpo 02-14-2005 03:42 PM

Hey, are you guys ready for this?

The cruise line just called -- the lady said I had three different reservations! I told her ... um, maybe we could cancel all but one of them??? and she just laughed. She said they figured I had experienced a problem.

Vickie 02-14-2005 04:00 PM

I go out for a little lunch and you all have a chat explosion!

Kathy, hope you're ok! You are SO lucky that you didn't break anything. Didn't you already have problem with your left leg? Wasn't it your left leg in the brace in the picture with you and JT? Hope tomorrow isn't worse for you. For me, it's usually worse the second day. Dare we ask how exactly it happened? So will you have your first Monday weigh in today or next week?

Cher, congratulations on your loss.....take them all Hon!

My lunch was delicious. I can't wait to have this concoction again. I posted it on today's menu page. You know the waitress hate to see me coming! Actually, they are all very nice and accommodating for all my special requests.

I probably actually prefer one board because I'm afraid I'll mess up and post my stuff on the wrong board anyway. I'm kind of a stream of consciousness girl. But, having said that, I'm very flexible and will go with the crowd on this!

Kierie, I don't think he could do acupuncture but we've never really talked about it. The Ortho said if the coritsone shot doesn't work, then he needs surgery. I've already said if the shot doesn't work, we are going for a second opinon and Hubby agreed.

Frouf, you are a wonder woman. Good for you for resisting all that temptation!

Froufy 02-14-2005 04:36 PM

Sugar Free Froufie Reporting For Duty!

:dizzy: Vickie - your lunch sounds fabulous! Glad u enjoyed it - and hope hubby feels better!!! (oh and vickie I'm sure we can kinda figure out how Kathy's fall happened - you know - a little too much beer now and again? :D :dizzy: nod, nod, wink wink... ;) )

Cher - congrats on the loss - way to go...every little bit counts!! :cb: ..and I also love lobster - something for you to really look forward to!

Gee Kathy - I was hoping you were going to give those extra cruises away - you know to your VERY BEST FRIENDS on the Core Support Board??? :gift:

I LOVE THE IDEA OF A REGULAR SCHEDULED CHAT - maybe we can take a poll to see what times/days are good for everyone? I agree to "after kiddies bedtime" as a better time for me too (maybe 8:30 or 9 pm) - are we all in different time zones??? ...and we would need to choose a day or days we would be online?

...now I am proud to say that I have not yet succumbed to any chocolate :chockiss: (but as I got hungrier this afternoon it did get a bit harder - esp when I had to go to the printer to pick up docs - I had to smell wafts of chocolate covered cherries and chocolate truffles - all aimed at my nose!). Had some soy cheese :cheese: , cut up veggies and green tea to AVOID caving in. Still feeling a bit peckish and hoping to head home soon for dinner! :cbg:

Oh bratty Frouf!! No, it wasn't due to an overindulgence. DH says that's one of the main reasons I should sleep downstairs ... so I won't fall down them! (Yeah, like I fall every day!) I think I just missed a step and down I went. I just checked my hip and it is black and blue and black and blue! Not pretty!

I haven't had any chocolate either, but I did get hungry a minute ago so I ate a container of sliced strawberries, and then a few almonds. Hopefully that'll hold me until I get home. I'm stopping by Chilis or somewhere to pick up a salad, half for tonight's dinner and the other half for tomorrow's lunch.

Happy Valentine's Ladies!

Geez, Kathy, sounds like you're pretty banged up. Take it easy, would ya? :)

I vote for one thread, renewed weekly. A chat would be cool, too!

So, get this, I had to get in for my annual, and when I called 3 months ago, THIS was the day they gave me. It was either today, or I could have waited another 3 months, and would have been way overdue. So, that's what I did today.

It's okay, John took me to Applebees for dinner (it's like 2 blocks from our apt.). I was really hankering for some chocolate, so I had thier WW cake thing. 4 pts. Yummaroo.

Question: when you order off the Applebees menu, do you subtract points for the things you know are Core (fruit. chicken breast), or do you just forget it, and count the total from your WPA?

WOW! I missed a lot today. Just had leftovers - that sweet potato recipe is really good. 'fraid I might have eaten too much the last couple of days.:fr:

Kathy - hope you're feeling better. ;) I fell down the steps 5 yrs. ago when I was carrying my then, 3 mth. old DS. I guess instinct takes over and you just don't let go. I was pretty black and blue and sore too., mostly because I was holding onto DS and didn't try to catch myself.

Angela - do you know if they make anything like the DDR that hooks directly up to the T.V.? Sounds like a lot of fun.

Proud of myself for walking 2 miles today.:tread: Took about 6 hrs. to talk myself into it, but finally got the WATP tape out and did it. Also, found a pedometer that I had gotten at McDonalds last year. Opened that and tried it out. Anyone know how many steps in a mile? I think that one registered 2655 for 2 miles. Don't know how accurate it is.

Spring - I think it's easier just to count the pts. at most restaurants.

Cher - Yay for the loss! :cheer:

Oh, before I go; thread is fine for me. Let me know when and where if you decide to do the Chat.

I think they do make DDR that plugs directly into the TV. I don't know anything else about it though, or where you'd find it. I got the one for Nintendo GameCube, because we already have a GameCube. I'll try to do some research.

On my pedometer ($3.88 at Wal-Mart), you have to enter in your stride length, so your steps per mile varies, depending. I think my stride length is 24", so I get just over 2000 steps per mile.

Angela, how do those pedometer things work? Mine came from Wal-Mart too and I put my stride in as 21" but I can walk from one end of my house to the other and it only registers maybe 3 steps. I wonder if my overly fat stomach keeps the pedometer from sensing my stride? :?:

Cher, great job on your loss!

Kierie, I'm ashamed to confess I still haven't been able to make myself get up 10 minutes earlier to do those weight exercises. How about you? Not to mention I still haven't gotten myself some bigger hand weights. All I have are 1 pounders ... what good will they do? :)

Froufy, you are a tower of power, girl, to resist all those chocolate temptations today! :high:

Kathy, that is too funny about the multiple cruise line reservations. I'm actually impressed by their honesty in phoning you about it ... some of these fly-by-night places would probably leap at the chance to charge you for all 3 reservations.

Spring, just about time to catch Jack in action! ;)

Big hugs to all of us for making it through Valentine's Day intact! :grouphug: :grouphug:
