Unhappy My Core Dilemma

Hello everyone,

I have been on Core for 2 weeks and I am beginning to get bored. My problem is that I am not a cook. I just started to cook a few months ago and am not very creative.

Is there a recipe book or website that has a bunch of Core recipes? I tried to join a yahoo group for it but the moderator never comes on to approve anyone, so I am stuck!

For now I will use this WONDERFUL board for ideas, but if anyone can help, I would reeeeallly appreciate it lol.

Thanks!

Karen

Hi and welcome to Core! Try this link for some great core recipes. You can search for "Core". http://www.barbosdietkitchen.com/archive.pl?#11794

If you don't cook a lot core can get kinda boring. Luckily I am a creature of habit so usually will eat the same thing for lunch for a couple of months until I get sick of it and switch. A great appliance for someone who doesn't like to cook is a crockpot. You can put all your ingredients in and out pops a delicious meal without a lot of hassle. You can even experiment with easy things like 3 or 4 boneless chicken breasts, jar of salsa, can of mexican corn, serve over brown rice, whole wheat pasta or cous cous. You can do the same recipe changing the meat. I have been on core since the middle of Sept. and am not bored yet but have tried a lot of the recipes on the above site.

Enjoy!
Kathy

I agree with Kathy, that if you don't try some recipes you'll get bored to tears on Core. There aren't any convenience foods for Core. Barbos Diet Kitchen is the best place to go. You will find hundreds of recipes there.

Good Luck!

If all else fails, eat a baked potato! You can always change it up by putting broccoli if you get sick of the FF cheese/sour cream. I eat one nearly every day when I'm at work. And if you haven't seen the list of soups, you should!! There are probably 30 soups on there, lots of the chunky soups too. Lately we eat soup for dinner because it's easy and warm and easy and tastes good and it's easy!!

Hi, all! I got a crockpot for X-Mas, per my request. The thought of coming home to a healthy hot meal is very enticing. My crockpot came with a very impressive cookbook, however not much was CORE friendly. Does anyone have any good crockpot recipes besides pot roast?

For the crockpot, you can pretty much put in any meat + any soup and you'll have a meal. Make some whole wheat pasta or brown rice to put it over, and there you go! I've tried it with chicken, pork chops, stew meat, roast ... you absolutely can't mess it up.

Also go to the main w/w forum (into WeeklyPointsAllowance) and look for Kippy she has some great sites for recipes.

Vickie, Kathy and Kelly thank you so much for your input. Will definietely check these out. My sister and I are both doing CORE and plan to have CORE food prep day on Sunday to get all of our meals made via crockpot or otherwise. Neither of us have been CORE princesses as we call it over the last week or so, but we had planned to maintain rather than make ourselves miserable stressing over losing. Will let y'all know how these recipes turn out. Vickie, the ones you listed sound fabulous!!!! Hope all is well with everyone!
