Im looking for a core cereal that doesn't taste like twigs.

Good luck! LOL! I don't like the "healthy" twig cereals so I don't eat them. People have said the shredded wheat minis (unsweeted) and adding some fruit and Splenda to them are ok though.

Thanks Kelly! Do you eat oatmeal? I'm wondering if that is a better alternative.
It has to be plain though correct? That means no maple and brown sugar..bummer.

It has to be plain that is right but I don't eat it either...the texture freaks me out and to me it tastes like paste! LOL! You can add Splenda and sugar free syrups to it. There is also a Sugar Twin Brown Sugar (calorie free sugar substitute) you could use.

You sure are right about the texture, although luckily it doesn't bother me (although I won't tell you what my son says it looks like!). I add the Splenda, vanilla extract and 1 points worth of chopped up walnuts. It has been my staple for the last week.

If you get the 5 minute oatmeal, you can add a chopped up apple before cooking, along with cinnamon, splenda, and vanilla extract...kinda tastes like apple pie. I'm sure you can use it with instant, but the apple won't be as soft.

As for the cereal, the mini shredded wheat is the best out of them all (not that that's saying very much), but definately add splenda, and fruit is good too. I had some with strawberries and it was really good.

I've been eating grapenuts w/a little splenda and cut up banana and have really been enjoying it. It's pretty good once you add the splenda.

Hmmm...I thought it was, but it wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong. I'll have to go back and recheck my info.

I know that the Grapenut flakes are not and I was really surprised to find that they contained added sugar.

Hmmmmm I wondering that now too. I would love to eat grapenuts with some splenda! I'll have to check the back of the box at the store tomorrow and see if there is added sugar.

yeah cereal is really hard to find. For those of you that do eat it, which ones do you eat? I'm thinking about getting some Fiber One and trying it with splenda. I do like oatmeal too.

Whenever I have questions about a food, I check it a peapod.com. They don't deliver in my area but I put in 60611 for a zipcode and it lets me in to look at the foods. Where it says "New to Peapod?" and asks for a zipcode, put it there.

So as for Grape Nuts cereal, here's the info:
