  • Good day ladies! My 6 year old came down with strep a few days ago, so we've been trapped in the house here. I'm about to go crazy! Luckily, she's on antibiotics now and is on the mend. And dh promises me I can go out this afternoon without the children. I have no idea WHERE I will go - just out would be good enough.

My dad continues to recover nicely. My mom mowed the lawn for the first time in years yesterday. I think she will be willing to "forget" how to do it after dad is feeling better too.

Miles is growing like a weed...he has regained his birth weight and then some.

My eating is better than when I was pregnant, but not picture perfect yet. My girls did make us breakfast in bed today though, since it's our 14th anniversary tomorrow. It was very nice!

    Have a happy day all,
    Angela
  • Thanks Chicks! I had forgotten.

Nancy, you're awesome! NO way would I crawl under the house.

    Rhonda...have fun!
  • Angela, it is SO good to hear that all is well and better in your neck of the woods! Happy Anniversary. Any special plans? Did you get the strep?
  • Vickie,
No special plans I'm aware of. I think I'd just like to sleep.

And I haven't gotten strep yet...just allergies bugging me.

  • Hey chickies! I've been cleaning/organizing all day, and I just got on the couch to rest a minute. I still need to finish in my bedroom but will have to force myself to do it. We are having storms all day and are supposed to have some really severe ones later on after four pm. I need to go to the grocery, but I think I will wait until tomorrow.

Angela, take care of yourself so you don't get strep. Make sure to wash, wash, wash your hands. Your resistance is still down after childbirth, so you are more susceptible. I got strep when my DS was about two months old, and it put me to bed for a couple of days. Happy Anniversary and stay well!

Rhonda, your energy level inspires me. It seems like you are always on the go and doing something fun. Is it retirement or have you always been that way?

Nancy, you go girl! I admire you for trying new things, and I agree with the plan to forget everything when Robin is better. How is he doing? I hope all is well with him, and that he'll be home soon.

Maryann, glad your neck and shoulder are doing so well!

Sandra, congrats on staying op. How many days in a row has it been?

Vickie, in my new book "Fudge Your Way to Weight Loss" I will put a chapter in about the health benefits of chocolate. You can co-write the chapter if you like. I'm impressed with your plan. I can see myself with my entire face under one to the chocolate spouts

    Hey Paula!

    GTG back to work. TTFN
  • Well......we don't know if my plan will work or not yet!
  • Vickie -- as long as you dip fruit, then its really healthy!!!

Does anyone use any on line calorie trackers? I was looking at fit day this morning, a bit too complicated for me. I could not see how to define a meal that could be used again. I also found ************ -- seems a bit more like the WW on line tracking but with calories. I decided I need more accountability to me -- I need to write down everything and see how it fits into my day. Just wondering what you all use to track calories ect.

    Have a good day!
  • Paula, try www.sparkpeople.com. I use it everyday and it's awesome. You can add favorites to your list to use over and over.
  • I found myplate.com to be helpful, and I think it is a lot like the one Vickie mentioned.

As for my energy level: I've always been high energy but retirement really lets me have more fun. The last few years of work, and the mid-1990's into 2003 were awful. I was really worn down.

I have also been using the CPAP machine for the last 3 nights. It takes some getting used to the mask, but it's not awful and I do actually feel better in the mid-afternoon.

Angela, it's good to hear continued good news about your Dad. Wash your hands!!! Keep them off your face, etc. If you do get it, you tried!

Off to the festival again tonight. DH is not well, so it's me, my nephew, his girls and his mother...it will be fun.
