Oh Sloane , I know that is a bad feeling to feel behind at home and work.

Wish I had some great advice.

Lower your standards for awhile on things that will wait, like cleaning.

Remember that you are doing an A+ job on things that are the most important,
like being there for your daughter this year.

Good morning ladies. Great news --- the scale is moving!!! Now I just wish I wrote down where my weight was exactly a few weeks ago. I have an idea and I'll start tracking based on that. I know working out is going to get things moving. I am planning on getting to the Y at 7am on Saturday when then open, that way I can be home a bit after 8 and have enough time to get dd to gymnastics at 10. I'm up early anyway!

Nancy - I agree with Sloan, decide on what really matters and what can wait.

Well, off to get dd ready for school. Just wanted to check in.

Nancy pegged it, Sloan. You've been there for your DD. The rest can wait. That said, I was very stressed during all of our renovations while in Toronto. I like to think I'm "cool" but I don't like my physical space being messed with. This must be very deeply rooted in most of us. Just keep breathing and take it one mess at a time!

I have lost another 1 1/2 pounds. I'm at 22 gone since May. Paula, the will help a lot! Go to it!

Rhonda

Paula, great job with the exercise! I'm sure your diligence will continue paying off.

Rhonda, way to go on the loss!

I did well for my first day back "op." I am, of course, allowing myself more calories than if I were trying to lose weight, but am trying to be more aware of my food choices and portion sizes. One major hurdle for me yesterday was eating absoltely NO sugar. I did it! Of course, I dreamed of candy last night!

We have a 2-hour school delay here this morning. The ice storm did indeed come through, although it's not as bad here as in Western Iowa.

My goal for today is to continue avoiding sugar, try to get in fruits/veggies at every meal, and put Frontline on my cats. Okay, so the last one isn't diet-related.

Hope you all have great days!

Hey chicks! You all are sooooo sweet! I know you are all right. It's just one of those times that having so much clutter is unsettling! I know I'll get over it, and I did get my desk cleaned off at school, got some filing done, and worked on my grade book before I left for the day. I'm going to try to set some small goals for cleaning this weekend, even if I just straighten the piles!

I've got to get a powerpoint done for a lecture in the morning, so I've got to get off here. Again, thanks to all of you for sending the

Paula and Rhonda, on the scales moving down. You're both doing great jobs at losing.

Sloan, to you on getting some things done at school. Try to relax as much as possible.

Angela, to you, too, for cutting out sugar.

I subbed today but had to cancel for tomorrow. I'm not in a lot of pain, but I'm not feeling well. I'm guessing maybe the antibiotics or the shock my body was in Tuesday is what's causing me to feel poorly. I'm so ready to be over this and get back into the water--and to shoot my bow!

Yay, another day without sugar! Day 2 done, how many days left?? I am finding I remember my old favorite snacks, like unsweetened applesauce. Yum yum.

I still need to work on trying to get a bit more protein into my breakfasts. I had shredded wheat and a banana this morning, and it just wasn't the same as the omelet I had the day before.

Night night all!

Good morning!

I had the neighbors directly south of us over for dinner last night. It was just a "chili supper" but it was good. DH makes the chili, I do the rest. It wasn't too high calorie except for the brownies I was seized to make at 4:30. I'm glad I did, they perfectly complemented the almond pudding I had made for dessert. NOT core They're going to the freezer.

Today we're going to one of my favorite restaurants in Ft. Worth: The Lonesome Dove. Then, if we can get good seats we're going to the big annual Fat Stock Show and Rodeo. If we can't get the seats, we'll get tickets and go back. We went to this when we were teenagers 50 years ago.

But, first to aquafit and trying to work out the knots in my calves that Todd put there on Wednesday.

I hope you all have a great day.

Rhonda

ps: congrats on the no sugar Angela....

Well, I added a ticker. I put my starting weight as the highest am weight I've had over the past few weeks. I was soooo happy to get on the scale this morning!! its finally moving in the right direction. I'm not over-setting a goal. For now I want to get back to where I was last year this time which is still about 10 pds over my target. But I can focus on the next 10 pounds easier than facing 20.

Have a great day!

Angela I have a breakfast idea for you -- its something I've been making weekly for a while. I make a spinach/egg quiche/pie creation. Basically I sautee up onions, peppers and mushrooms. Then add in 2 boxes of frozen spinach and cook that until all the water is gone - season with salt, pepper and a bit of nutmeg. Once the filling is water free I let it cool a bit and then mix in fat free feta, I put it into a baking dish that was sprayed. I used a 12 X 6 pan, you could also use a pie dish. I then mix up 6 eggs with a bit of milk and CAREFULLY pour it over the filling -- I have to use a fork to mush around the filling and let the egg soak down (Yes, I use that many veggies!). I then top it with low fat cheddar cheese or swiss (which ever I have on hand) then bake for 30 minutes at 375.

I get 6 very large portions -- very filling and all protein and veggies. HTH.

Good Morning Ladies

Did a lot of soul searching this week & I have to let go. Reality set in,and I now realize that Leo will never come back to me, and I have to move on and begin starting my new life.I'm not only as my friend Mandy told me the same thing about going to her DH's grave site. She told the leader that she's never going back to his grave as its too hurtful.I told her the next time I go around Valentines Day I'll bring her with me,and she than said OK,I go with you.

THE MEETING was small this month but I did meet 2 more woman at the bereavement group, where we exchange phone numbers, went of to an Italian restaurant right after the meeting and either today or some time next week we are going out to lunch. One of my new friends called early in the morning but I forgot to listen to my phone messages, and when my friend Mandy called in the afternoon and said I should come over right away for a coffee clutch I was on my way out to my first choir rehearsal.

Woke up this morning to frost on the ground and on my car roof & windshield.Hopefully it will warm up a bit, don't like to drive on ice.

I'm trying to keep my calories at bay.Yesterday I made a bunch of roasted veggies that I put in the oven with olive oil sprinkled on the top and had a bowl of of veggies when watching TV. It worked as I didn't look for cookies of salty snacks.

The weather is co-operating so I have to use my trusty bike or exercising tapes to get my exercising done. My weeks so far calorie wise is 1000=1200 other than the day when I went out to dinner and had 2200 calories, today I holding at 1200. and my weight hasn't moved. Maybe I should be going up higher on the calorie range.Have to work on that.

Maryann, glad you are starting to look forward. I know how hard that is after a loss. I'm not one to go to cemetaries either. I get now solace from going there - just too much pain and heart ache. It took me a long time following my loss to realize I don't have to go there and its OK to not go. It took a while, but I felt much better after making that realization. I go now when the mood strikes me - usually a drive through. But its OK. I've yet to go to my Dad's marker, he's burried at National Cemetary in Bourne. I don't need to go there to be close to him.

I'm glad you have some new freinds who can relate to exactly what you are going through. HUGS to you!!!

Paula,
That's a great breakfast idea! Thanks.

I am doing well today too...just getting a bunch of neglected paperwork done. This morning in addition to my cereal & banana, I had a few multigrain crackers with peanut butter on them for protein. So far, so good.

This baby is sooo active now...he's big enough to feel every move he makes, and small enough to still have some ROOM to move. Another of my goals is to enjoy this pregnancy every single day, despite the aches and pains and weight gain, since is it most likely my last.

Time for lunch! Hope we are all having good days.
