Good Morning Ladies

Nothing new except I'm going out to have my hair styled as I can't stand it hanging down my neck.

SLOANE-Happy that all is ok with your DD's Ex has moved on.Don't need that tension hanging around. A few of my friends that are widows do the same thing and they say it helps to talk to him when your lonely. No one knows what I do in my own home but going outdoors its a different story I have to brave, and hold in my feeling as much as possible.

PAULA-That's what I'm going to do once everything is settled down.In fact that I used to do when Leo cooked his own meals.I always had left overs ,but since Leo couldn't eat anymore I have lots of his leftovers in the freezer.DON'T WORRY I WILL NEVER GO HUNGRY.that's for sure.

SANDRA-Thanks, for the compliments. I'm not sure if I'm as strong as I want to be.I think I'm more in denial and the hard facts are going to hit me soon.

Have a great morning

Hey chicks! Not much exciting going on here, and I like that. I am planning a weekend retreat with my school teacher "choir". We will be leaving on Friday for an evening of "retail therapy" and dinner, then we'll move on to a nice lake house. Saturday will be lazy with lots of "singing". I'm sure there will be mexican music aka margaritas, italian music aka wine, and other tunes. I'm not going to pretend that I will stay core, but I won't make a pig of myself either. I am really looking forward to a stress relieving get-away.

Maryann, I'll be praying for you tomorrow. I hope the day goes exactly as Leo would want it.

Sandra, is your head spinning with X & Y? I hope your day went well, and the little sweeties behaved.

GTG start supper. TTFN

Maryann, you are probably right about being in denial. I still think you're a strong lady. What kind of hairstyle did you get? I got mine changed last week and am loving it. It's short again.

Sloan, enjoy your choir retreat. Italian and Mexican sounds awesome. Wish I could join you. The kids were great today. I'm getting to know a great number of them now and look forward to seeing them. Now X & Y? I've given tests the past 2 days. I'm betting the students are really tired of that. I told them to remember that at least they aren't having homework.

Hi Chicks! I'm home from my anniversary trip. We had a GREAT time but are tired and have laundry up to our ears. The cleaning lady is here this morning so that will help. I've got the appointment with the kidney specialist tomorrow so I must gather all my previous records and tests to take with for her review. I gained 2.4 so far on my trip which is NOT good for 3 days. I'm hoping it isn't all real. I'm going to be back on program today and until Thanksgiving. I'll be back on the treadmill tomorrow if not tonight after dinner.

I hope you are all well and I promise to come back to catch up as soon as I can. It may not be until Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.

Be well and drink your water.

Hi Folks:

I'm just on the run all day...

Sloan, good news about your dd...and have a great "choir" trip!

Maryann, don't be too concerned about how you present yourself to the real world. When my husband died, I found that I played classical music all the time, and it was very soothing. You're not "in denial"...you're in shock! That's what it's all about. I felt "severed" when my husband died, and it took a long time to feel whole and connected again. It comes, but slowly and differently.

Vickie...glad you had a good trip, and good luck at the MD's.

Sandra....hang in there with those students.

BBL,
Rhonda

I have the day off today. Or should I say I'm in my usual routine and not subbing today? Anyway, I'm enjoying every minute of this beautiful Texas fall weather. I worked in the yard a bit and am now "trying" to make homemade salsa. An ex-student of mine told me how to do it; but, of course, he didn't know I would be using these seriously hot habanero peppers. If you see smoke coming out of your computers, it's probably Curtis and me on fire.

Vickie, I'm sending you blinks for a good report tomorrow. Don't fret the small gain. Your anniversary trip comes under the heading of "Special Event in Life." It's good you and Jim could celebrate and have fun. Makes me smile.

Rhonda, when are you heading to Texas?

Maryann, I agree with Rhonda. When you were talking about denial, I was thinking "shock." Do what you need to do and don't worry about the world. Everyone has to do what is best for them to help cope. I still think you're an extremely strong lady.

If any of our new people are reading this, I would love it if you'd start posting. We won't bite. We're a pretty nice bunch here and would love to have you join us.

Hi Ladies

The weather is changing quickly with strong winds pushing & blowing leaves all over the place.

The burial was dignified, had two solders folding the flag while the priest was praying over Leo's remains. Two of my friends came to comfort me,as my DD & DS but right after my DD was complaining about a sore throat and stomachs. So they left right after, she just called and a trip that usually takes 4 hrs is taking 6 hours as she struck in traffic.

Thanks RHONDA for telling me your experiences. I'm going to try to remain strong as many had the same experiences like you & I,and got thought it.I'm playing country music right now.

SANDRA-Nothing fancy just a short hair cut, short on the sides and the back, had her leave it a little longs on the top so I can tease it for height. Thanks I agree with you both ladies.

Have great evening, going to the movies with my friends to see Amelia tomorrow afternoon.

I had soup and warm spinach salad for dinner. I am so sleepy tonight, I bet I don't make it to 9PM!

I like your new picture, Sandra. I'm coming to visit November 25 (our anniversary) through Dec. 6. Then I return here to Toronto for 12 days, then leave again for Texas.

I'm just going to sign off and quit fighting the fatigue.

Nitey nite,
Rhonda

Woohoo! Rhonda, I'm so glad you're coming down. And I'm even happier it's almost time for you to be here permanently. Now get some rest.

Hey Chicks. I got some VERY concerning news about the level of kidney function that I have left. I'll be off the board for a bit while I figure out how and what to do to deal with this.

Oh my, Vickie. I hope it's not too awful, of course.

I been sleeping, exercising and working. I have NOT lost the weight I was looking for...too much food and good wine celebrating Wednesday night's success. But, I'm being good this weekend.

BBL,
Rhonda

Hi Ladies

Had a bit ogf a problem trying to get on the chicks board this morning, and than all got busy for me,that I didn't have a chance to post until now.

All is fine Had lots to do yesterday and that's the reason I didn't post.I also went to the movies with my friends to see Amelia, with Hilary Swank and Richard Gere,it was a good movies even if it didn't get a good write up. So if you get a chance go see it.

Today is a stay indoors day as it looks like a nor'easter is heading our way the trees and bushes in fount of my house are doing some kind of a dance swaying back & forth.

My calorie count for the week so far was no higher than 1450,but even in my range I only managed to maintain.

RHONDA-Don't know if my DD thinks I'm starving or not, as she brought a large container of homemade lentil soup that she got from food Network's Giada De Laurentiis UMMMMMMM its was good and the recipe looks easy to make.Going to come in handy as the next couple of days its going to get colder. Our anniversary would have been 11/19 [43 years].

VICKIE-I'm so sorry about your kidneys. By all means do take care of health matters first, than posting second.Going to put you on my prayer list that all is ok.

SANDRA-I like your new avatar of yourself. It nice to see pix of woman on the boards. I was surprised that I didn't cry today,it must be that I keeping myself busy.

Have a nice evening
