I forgot to say Happy International Women's Day yesterday. It's a real event here in Canada and in Europe. I don't think it is very acknowledged down south of here?? The movers come at 9AM and I get my LR back. That might help the :exercise: because the spot where I use my DVD's has been full of boxes for months. BBL |

I just wanted to get on here and say GOOD MORNING to everyone. Waiting on a load of clothes to finish washing. Then I might do another load. And then I have a few cups and spoons to wash up. Then it will probably be about time to go to town. I need to make a couple of stops before WW. It is windy here today. In fact it was windy most of the night. Had just a little bit of rain last night. Suppose to get some more mabybe this morning. But so far nothing. VICKIE Hope you have a good day. Did you get a Dr appt yet. Keep you in my prayers. Happy Monday everyone. Its snowing here - the good thing is that tomorrow is going to be in the 40s so it should all melt. Good thing -- I'm done with winter. The weekend was so nice here -- in the 60s both days.. Went to dinner at mil's yesterday - had a nice turkey dinner. I did well food wise. I did have a piece of apple pie though...... oh well. Its a new day.
Tracie - welcome back! I've been following momentum for a while - I definatly needed to get my portions back into line. I did switch to the simply filling a couple weeks ago and just switched back to counting points. I was falling into bad habits -- if I ate too many non core foods I would just not write anything down. I'm doing better working with my 23 points per day and sticking to filling foods. Maryann - how is your weather? Giant snow flakes here! Vickie - is today wi day at JC? I hope things go well. Coco -- good luck at ww today. Well, got to get moving. Hit to everyone else!! |
Coco...just had packed boxes moved. We won't be moving to Texas until the summer, at the earliest. If the house sells, we go. If it doesn't sell, we will go at least by late October, leaving the house here and renting in Texas until next spring...

I'm delighted. I lost 2.2 this week for a total of 15.4.
And, I have an appointment with my new Internist for 4:15 today. So I should have some information soon. Besides the kidney values, my triglycerides and LDL are high. Sigh. Diet and exercise should help some of this so I'm doing the best that I can. I'll be back later. |

This is my 3rd day back op and I must say, I'm starving. I made a smoothie this morning with frozen strawberries, ff milk(1 cup) and a banana and drank it on my way to work(7:30 am). Then I drank a bottle of water and an hour later my stomache was growling very loudly! So I made two slices of toast(good thing I brought them) using low fat whole wheat bread and light butter (2 points for the whole thing) waiting until 9:30 so I could make it to lunch and by noon I was again starving. I am eating lunch as I am typing which consists of a salad with lettuce & carrots and fat free croutons and fat free dressing. Also some tuna salad made with ff mayo stuffed in 1/2 ww pita(zero points for the pita). Also drinking a bottle of water with my lunch. I have grapes and an apple for a snack later. I don't know if I can keep up this momentum program but I'm going to try and stick it out for a few weeks, at least. It's just really hard. And it's not even the journaling, I just feel like I'm so hungry all the time. Everything you eat, you have to count and I don't like that. I prefer the simply filling technique. Tejas, as far as I know, we don't have an International Women's day here is the US. Coco, what is his bucket? You mentioned you got your son some things for his bucket. I'm just wondering. Vickie, wtg on the loss! We can do this! Paula, we are supposed to get some snow this week too. I was hoping we had seen the last of snow for this winter. Apparantly not. Rhonda, I'm getting excited about your moving back to Texas. I hope your home sells quickly and you can make a smooth transition. Tracie, it's so good to have you back here. Starting Tuesday I'll be relosing everything I'd lost. Right now, I am "faking it." :lol: I'm rejoining WW Tuesday and will put a lot of focus on WW. Coco, how did wi go? Thank you for asking about me. I'm feeling much more like my old mean self. Life is good. I'm heading into town in a bit with a clump of daffodils for my nurse. She asked about planting some. My grandmother always said, "The best time to plant something is when you can get it." I don't think that applies where there is snow. |
Hey chickies! I'm still alive, but just barely. I've had a ragin' cold/bronchitis for two weeks now, and I'm still not fully recovered. I missed four days of school, so I'm really behind. It was so good to skim all of your posts! I hope that someday I'll be back on here faithfully. In the meantime, you all hang in there!!!

Well weigh in did not go well. I gained 1/2 a pound. I am really bummed about it. So I am going to really track this week. Guess I was eating more than I thought. I am so upset. And I had been drinking my water. The only day I didnt get much in was yesterday. SLOANIE Hope you are feeling better Glad you posted. BLESSEDWITHSARAH The turkey dinner sounds nice. I have a turkey breast in the freezer. Maybe I will fix that one day this week. ONTARGET Glad you are feeling better. VICKIE :carrot: CONGRATS ON THE LOSS. That is awesome. You are really doing great. Hope some of that rubs off on me. How did the DR's appt go. I know when hubby's triglycerides were up. We started to watch the sugar intake. And it helped him. Thinking of you. TWESTRA I got me one pack of the WW smoothie mix tonight. Have you ever tried those. I got a vanilla chai. But I forgot to look and see how many points it is. And if I make it with milk or water. I think if i make it with water it is core. I dont know. Will have to try and find out before I make it. Or if I make it I will count 3 points for it. 2 for the milk and 1 for the mix. I know you and I think Blessedwithsarah asked about my sons bucket. It is what he takes his lunch in. He uses a small igloo cooler. We just always called it a bucket. I guess some call it a lunch pail. But that is what it is. TEJAS Hope you get rested up. Well I guess I will get off here for now. Can't sleep...
Made 2 dishes for a lady in our church who lost her husband this week. He was snow skiing with his 14 year old son and had a heart attack. The poor son isn't eating so everyone is sending his favorite meals. I fixed the same for our dinner and it was like ANTI-CORE food!!! I have a busy day tomorrow and I am going to need alot of :coffee2: Sloanie...glad you are getting well. You left me in the dust with our competition but I am glad for you!! Well I got to jury duty OK even if it was[6:45] early in the morning, with rain & glare of the incoming traffic.The rotary was as scary as I though it would be no traffic.and arrive at the courthouse at 7:45. The waiting around for a trial was the hardest & frustrating thing to do. After 2 hrs they moved 25 people me included to the district court and we waiting another 2 hrs when the judge came in to tell us the there were no trials here but the bailiff told us he wasn't sure that the superior court did need us. So we waited around to that until noon,and we let go. This morning I got on the scale and I'm up 1.5.Will I ever lose this weight.Going down to 1300-1500 this month and see what happens. Hi everyone. Had an eye appt this afternoon. I've been having trouble reading and doing computer work. Distance is off a bit too. Well, get this....my eyes are better! He needs to reduce both lenses. So hopefully I'll get the new trail lenses this week so I can see. Not much else going on here. I'm making a hungarian chicken dish in my pressure cooker tonight. Sounds good - brown skinless chicken thighs, then sautee onion and mushrooms, add paprika and chicken stock, then add a can of tomatoes - add chicken back in and then cook. Sounds interesting. Hopefully dh will like it. I'll make egg noodles to go with it.
Coco - 1/2 pound gain is small, don't let it get you down. Your doing so well, just keep doing what your doing and i'm sure you'll have a loss next week. Maryann - gald jury duty was not a big ordeal. Sorry you ended up driving in the rain. Today is wonderful out! Hope you are enjoying this break before the rain tomorrow ! RHONDA-I wouldn't mind of they had a trial for us to go to but this waiting all morning can be very stressful. I'm lucky I didn't end up eating from the vending machine that they had in the jury's waiting room.

weather...Maryann brings up the weather! We are back to winter, except that it will bring rain, not snow (if the forecast is right)....and lots of rain, too, with wind. They promise that tomorrow morning will be miserable. Great. The students hate coming to class as it is!

HI Girls. I'm doing much better today. Like Rhonda said, my body should adjust to the change and it has. I'm not starving anymore. Although for breakfast today I ate some crepes (made with egg whites, oatmeal & cottage cheese) and they were very yummy. Only 2 points for 3 of them and then I filled them with a mixture of ww strawberry yogurt, ff cool whip, cottage cheese(blended) mixed in with strawberries. Total of 4 points in all, but the crepes would be core/simply filling. The filling would not be, but that's only 2 points for the filling.
Mary Ann, I get 22 points per day, plus my 35 points per week. I think they want you to start on the "momentum" technique first so you can get your portion sizes under control. I will give it a couple of weeks and then switch to core. The majority of the food I am eating is core though. Since Saturday, I have only ate 10 points of non-core foods. So I guess you could say I'm counting points but doing core. Sloanie, great to see you again! Paula, I used to eat shredded wheat with strawberries and milk for breakfast, but I forgot to buy some at the store. But I love the new crepe recipe I found. Yummy. And egg whites have protein. Coco, the ww smoothies are core, and if you use ff milk or water, it is still core. So enjoy. They are pretty good. I haven't had the vanilla chai but it really sounds good. Nancy, sorry to hear about your friends husband. It's nice that you are all making stuff for them to eat. Believe me, when my friends husband died she said that she wouldn't have eaten if she had to cook. So that really helped her out when friends made food for her, although she still didn't eat much, but at least she had food to eat and didn't have to cook. Rhonda, we're supposed to get snow again. Yuck! I'm so ready for Spring! Well, I'm going to go clean up my dinner dishes. Then I can watch American Idol. I love that show!! |

Not much happening here. Went and got our hair cut this morning. Now waiting on a guy to come and give us a estimate for a new chimney. Ours is falling apart. Got some clothes I need to wash up. Need to wash up our new outfits and sons dress clothes. The sons are just dusty from haning. He dont hardly wear them. Usually jeans and a shirt. The temp is dropping here. At 4:30 this morning it was 63. Now it is in the 50's. And to drop unto the 40's by 5:00pm. Had just a few rain drops. But it is clouding up. So maybe some rain on the way. Sure do need it. TWESTRA I didnt care for the smoothie. To me it tasted kinda chalky and it tasted like egg nog. Maybe if I had done it in the blender it would have been better. VICKIE Are you alright. Miss you. Didn't have a chance to post this morning,as we had to return a pc of luggage that we bought yesterday. The combination lock would work for us so we exchanged it for a lock & key instead. RHONDA-We're go to have a windy rain storm this afternoon. I was suppose to go to my choir rehearsal but now I don't think so. I surprised the choir director doesn't call and find out why I gave up going to practice being sick, having doctors appointment on Wed along with the weather kept us apart. COCO-Thanks,I hope we both get the scale moving downward. I decided to buy one Healthy Choice entree just for the tray that came with it. The tray has 3 sections and now I'm going to eat out of that tray until I get used to portion control. Each section holds 4 fish sticks,1/2 c brown rice and 1 c veggies. So now I know the what to expect the size of the meals it holds. WISH ME LUCK WITH PORTION CONTROL METHOD. After you hear for a month you can get a ticker from 3 chicks or ticker factor.Go to the User PC on top of page hit that button that will bring your to a edit signature.That will bring you to the Signature weight trackers. Put in your information than select a back ground image hit the next button and get the slider image and than hit the next button use the code for the 3 chicks forum copy & paste than go back to the siggy edit page and put the code in the post box hit preview if you want to see the tracker if not hit submit and they next time you post the siggy should be in your post. Today we had pizza for the students at lunch and be darned if I didn't just dig right in! I was talking to some of them and getting rather agitated about some problems we have. I must have eaten five pieces...small ones, but still way too many :eek: Well, that will just have to be my points for the week, and I'll have to do some equivalent :exercise: That's all there it to that. Well not much has happened since I was on here last. The guy came about the chimney. Suppose to send us a estimate. Should get that sometime next week. Washed some clothes. Fixed supper. Had a salad and a hamburger. The burger was so lean. I had to add water to fix it. Then did dishes. And that has pretty much been it. TEJAS You will be back on track. I have done things like that before. Eat on something. And then realize. Oh my gosh. Did I eat that much. I am trying to learn not to beat myself up about it. It happens. But getting back on track the next meal is the important part. For me anyway. Hope the weather dont get to bad for you. BEACHBUM I wish you luck with portion control. I need to work on that too. Coco, that thing is so frustrating. I can do some things on it, but often I don't get it right either.
So, I counted the pizza as 12 points and had spinach and baked chicken breast for dinner. I do have some points left for the week, thank goodness. I've got an awful sinus headache, have taken meds and am headed for bed! Have a great night everyone. Rhonda |

Hi chickies! I decided I liked the Wednesday ww meetings, so instead of waiting a whole week to wi again I went last night. In only 4.5 days I lost 3.6 pounds and was very happy with that. So I will see how I do after a full week, next week. I need to change my ticker now!
Coco, sorry you didn't like the smoothie. I used to like the peach flavored ones, but don't even know if they have those kind any more. That was long ago when I had them. Now, I just make my own smoothies. When I start doing core I won't have to count anything. Mary Ann, you are right, they are trying to combine both programs into one at ww. They want the people that are counting points to try and eat more filling foods (core foods). Rhonda, I am planning on making pizza buns this week using the 1 point english muffins, pizza sauce, turkey pepperoni's, low fat cheese and veggies. I figure I can have 4 of them(2 english muffins) for right around 6 points. I used to make them all the time. Sometimes I have also used the ww 1 point pita's. Those work well too. My friend likes the 1 point tortilla's to make them on as she likes the extra thin crust and said the tortills remind her of that. Vickie, nice to see you again! I'm off to change my ticker! |

Just getting on here for a few. Waiting on some clothes to finish washing. Got a couple of loads I am going to do today. I dont usually do all my laundry in one day. So that is why I do some everyday. Cause my knees and legs get to hurting going up and down the steps so much. Went to the bank for son. And then he ordered half a beef. It was done. So went and picked that up for him. And put in the freezer. Then there was hamburger that they didnt wrap. Cause he wanted some made out in patties. So did that. Then for lunch I fried us a fresh hamburger. Oh my. How good it tasted. And it was very lean. I was surprised. Had to add water to fry it. So that is all I have been up too. Nothing much. TWESTRA :carrot: CONGRATS the loss. That is awesome. VICKIE Glad you posted. Was worry about you. Hope the DR appt goes well. BEACHBUM Hope hubbys eye appt goes well. Hubby has a cataract. Sorry I was MIA yesterday afternoon but we were so exhausted when we got back from the doctors I just wanted to veg out. I had a brain storm the other day and thought about Vickie and Jenny Craig.When at the doctors office I read all about those package delivered meals,where testers where following the meals of 5 companies from Biggest Loser,Nutrasystem,Jenny Direct,Kitchen Chef & another unfamiliar brand. The information from the testers was interesting from PROs:) don't have to cook or prepare to CONS watered down soup, not enough to eat etc. They also mentioned in the article that those who can't afford the prices they charge don't be forlorn,just get a small plate like the package item and portion control starts. So starting today that's what I'm going to do, I have 3 trays[1 with 3 sections the other with 2 and the 3rd has only 1 section] from those Lean Cuisine and Smart ones entrees and I'm going to eat out of them until I can visual a real portion control meal. TRACIE-OH Gee!!! Your doing great just being on WW for a couple of days.:bravo::carrot: BIG CONGRATS ON YOUR 3.6 :carrot::bravo: You're lucky you found a meeting that works for you. I didn't have a choice we only have one meeting place at the holiday Inn Monday nights where the leader is not a leader but a performer and on Thursday morning,where my leader told me that I had to stay on 20 p[1000] even if my doctor wrote to her saying it was to low for me to stay on. So I quite WW and now trying to do it buy myself. COCO-The appointment went great,except he had to go into the exam room 4 times to put the drops & Novocain into both eyes. He has to go back for surgery on the left eye Apr 22nd and for the second eye on May 28th. Along with the cataracts he found out that he has glaucoma in his eyes also. The latter is inherited. Your machines are in the basement like mine. Leo always tell me to go down backwards so I don't fall down the stairs carrying such a load .Now I have 3 baskets one for whites ,2nd of colors and 3rd for bulky. Taking down the 3 [one at a time]from the up floor to the basement is exercise in itself.:D RHONDA-Hope you found your ZZZZZZ's last night. Hi everyone. I've been reading and keeping up but have had little time to post. Things are going well, my scale is moving in the right direction! So, I'm happy with that.
Maryann, I like your idea for portion control. It makes a lot of sense. If you are eating off a smaller plate or bowl, you'll take less to start. I'm glad Leo made out OK. Tracie -- congrats on the loss! For pizza I've made pizza with whole wheat dough I bought at the supermarket. I take the one blob of dough and make a pizza on my cookie sheet. I figured out that the whole dough is 24 points so 1/6 is 4 points. I then loaded my area with sauteed veggies, core sauce and low fat cheese. For 5 or 6 points its a good piece and regular crust. I was surprized when I figured the points - if it was a round pizza it would have been a small piece, but making a sheet pizza really gave a good size. Vickie - if I didn't congratulate you before on your loss, congrats!!! Rhonda, I'm exhausted today. Its been a long, long week. Wine, did someone say wine? I'd love some, but I'm taking sinus meds right now and won't mix them.
DH and I are leaving early tomorrow morning...taking the train to Albany NY, then driving to Brattleboro VT. I have a great niece, a great nephew and a great-great nephew there. They are from Texas but the niece and nephew are going to university in Vermont. Their mother is coming up from Texas, and we're having a little family gathering. We'll be back late Tuesday. (Sandra you met them at the wedding...the great-great nephew was one of our young attendants.) So, bye bye for a few days. I'll be as OP as possible. They are all vegans, so meat-loving DH is going to be on his own ;) Have a great weekend... Rhonda |
