Good morning lovelies! It's another cold day in the U.P. It was 12 degrees this morning. We have SO much snow up here. My mom was watching the weather channel and said that we have a total of 47 inches up here. She was laughing because winter is the only time people will talk about the U.P. back home haha :)

I went to WW this morning and am down 3 pounds. I only used half of my WPA this week so I think that had a lot to do with it. I've started journaling as well. Also after workouts when I'm starving I'll make a fruit/veggie/protein smoothie to keep my metabolism revved up. I'm also trying to portion out my meats and pasta which has been touch bc I can eat my weight in both haha.

Maryann- That's a good idea to count the points while on core. Someone else on here mentioned that and again I heard it at WW this morning from the woman next to me.

Jewell- Welcome!! I think you will find success on Core.

Sloan- Congrats for being so close to your goal. Keep going you're doing AWESOME!! :)

Someone brought in a recipe for Pumpkin Fluff... My leader was saying that a slice of Pumpkin Pie has 9 points! I love PP as much as the next person but 9 points is ridiculous. This stuff is 1 point per cup. Here's the recipe

1 (16 ounce) can of pumpkin
1 (1 1/2 ounce) box of sugar free instant vanilla pudding mix
8 oz. of fat free cool whip
pumpkin spice to taste

Combine ingredients in order and chill for 2 hours. Enjoy!!

Hope the rest of you are having a good week!

Check our our crustless pumpkin pie recipe. IMHO, it is way better than the fluff. It can actually be cut like a pie. With a dab of FF cool whip, I barely miss the crust. And, I don't feel left out because it looks like pie.

:bravo: Yolanda and Sammi for your weight loss. I'm very happy for you.

Sammi, so much snow. Is "home" urban or rural? The snow is so much better in the country. It gets so dirty here in Toronto that it gets disgusting actually. By about February or March I feel like I'm walking through a garbage heap.

Thanks Maryann for the :dust: I've had really only one bite of the pie today. I've also not had even a drop of wine (or any alcohol) for eight days now. I normally have a glass of wine about 3 times a week, but I've noticed that I've missed it. But, I'm not having any until next weekend. It's certainly easier on the wallet and the liver, no doubt!

Have a great rest of the day everyone.

Rhonda

Thanks Rhonda! I'm from a suburb of Chicago, about 20 minutes out. Congrats on no alcohol for 8 days :)

Vickie- Thanks for posting the crustless PP recipe. I think I'll try making that too and see which one I like better

I just made some today, Sammi! BTW, are you South or North of Chicago? I can't remember.

Tejas 11-22-2008 08:36 PM

Well, I AM confused. I thought "U.P." stood for "upper peninsula" which I thought was Northern Michigan!!!!

Woah....lots of resistance to change being presented here on individual threads.

I've been disconnected for the last few months but shouldn't we at least hear what WW has to say? It seems to me that we don't even know officially what the changes are going to be. Why expend all kinds of energy now when we don't even know what the plan changes will be?

Having said that.....I hate counting points so it may well be that I continue to follow the old Core plan too.

I agree with you Vickie - WW always seems to IMPROVE the plans. I guess people like to panic.

Maryann - I just did the exact same thing starting today == I switched my online tools to flex but I'm sticking to core foods. I need to figure out what is not working. My guess is portion size. Lets hope this works.

Congrats Sammi and Yolanda on the losses! Keep doing what your doing!

Well, got to get moving and ready for Church. BBL

sammi861 11-23-2008 11:27 AM

Vickie- I'm actually West... around the Oak Brook area

Rhonda- U.P. does stand for Upper Peninsula which Northern Michigan, you are correct.

So I went out to the bars last night w/ 2 friends and still stuck by my no alcohol plan and drank nothing but diet coke. Healthier and a **** of a lot cheaper :) Have a good day everyone

Hi Ladies:)

Had a late start this morning and didn't have time to post. Nothings new, just tagging along with my weeks plan, and hoping it will work over the TG holiday.

Its going to interesting to find out what WW new plan is. I hope the Core Plan doesn't change that drastically, but the way it sounds its like combining the two plans into one.

SAMMI-Big con great on your 3 lb loss.Your doing great, wish I'd lose ,not this yoyoing every week. I hope my watching points will keep me on track,as its getting closed to the 3 major holidays were food is concerned. Thanks for the pumpkin fluff recipe.

VICKIE-Thanks for sharing your pumpkin recipe also,it also sound yummy.Have to read about new program before I resit it. If it doesn't for for me I will go back to the old version.

YOLANDA-Congrats on your 2 lb loss.Sorry that you weren't feeling well.

RHONDA-Your welcome for the :dust: I not a wine drinker, but you're doing great skipping it for 8 days.

PAULA-I'm doing the core on my own as when I didn't sign up for the new monthly pass I didn't have access to the e-tools. But I have my trusty companion to look up the point value.Don't know why my weight is yo-yoing and I thought I give this method a try & also find out why its not working.

Have a great afternoon

Good evening everyone. I'm doing well today with "Flore". After 4 years of true core, its weird to count points. But so far so good. I think it has helped today with my portion control. Hopefully I can count the points for a few weeks to put myself back into the right frame of reference.

It amazes me all the hub-bub about the changes to the program. Core works, if WW modifies it to make us look at things differently, great. Maybe it will kick start those of us who have been doing this for a while.

So back to my flore-ing. I have 8.5 points left for the night (we just had dinner). I have 23 points and a question to my friends that have done this. How do you allocate your points on a typical day? I posted this as a separate thread question as well. Love to know how your typical day goes -- how many pts for bf, lunch, dinner and snacks.

DD is coming home soon -- busy 5 year old social life! Bday party. Her friends mom is bringing her home. DH and I had a nice quiet dinner alone! What a treat.

Have a good night.

blessedwithsarah 11-24-2008 07:00 AM

I win -- last one to post yesterday and first today!

Tejas 11-24-2008 10:55 AM

You win Paula, but we need a new thread! I started one, currently called "Core hat" because I missed the "C" in Core.
