Good morning ladies. Well, its a new ww week for me. I'm glad I did not wi yesterday - the scale is grossly up this morning! Psychologically I a big gain written down would have sent me into a binge. I did well last night. I did have a small cocktail (coconut run with fruitpunch crystal lite).
Wed is the end of my wpa's - not that I did a good job at tracking. My new view on this for this week -- I'm going to stick to plan and try not to use any wpas this week. That will get me through to Thanksgiving where I'll think hard about what non core things I may have. Its very cold here as well - more like January than November. Its supposed to be colder on Saturday. I'm making plans for my week off next week. DD has school monday, tuesday and 1/2 day on Wed. So I have time to start Christmas shopping - also need to get the vehicles inspected for our new insurance company. I'm also going to revamp my Christmas party food list. I have a lot of great appetiziers on the list - of course none are core! My goal for the rest of 2008 -- get the scale back down to where it was last week and keep it there to year end. If I can stick to plan for food, splurges within my wpas shouldn't cause a gain. Thats my thoughts for today. Coco, how is the tree? I'll put our up next Friday with dd. I love doing that! Got to get moving. BBL |
Good Morning All:
I'm down 1/2 pound but I won't put it on my list below. I'll wait and see what WI brings next Tuesday. We have lots of snow outside. Jake the dog, loves it, but he doesn't have to shovel. ;) Have a great OP day everyone. Stay Core, drink those fluids and move around a bit! Rhonda |
Good Morning Ladies:)
Thanks for all the congrats:congrat: on our wedding anniversary. After our dinner we came back home and relaxed. Today I'm going out to my friends house to play our monthly canasta game. I don't know if this will be our last game as she heading to Fla for the winter. In the rules that a way to play 3 handed game, but we have to check that out. SAMMI-Sorry,have no idea:idea: how long you can do that. DONNA-Glad that your OP for the 2nd day,and I do agree with you that popcorn:corn: is far better than chips & dip.I hope they will reveal the new plan to the ones doing it on there own like I am. I heard from another ww site that they think the core is completely changed along with the flex is not going to be that flexible.Keep us posted. PAULA-We didn't get any snow just very cold:brr:weather, but than again its in the middle of November.Yes I heard about the fatal crash on Rt 6 around exit 5,but not in full detail, except the driver wasn't wearing a seat belt and was thrown from is truck.Oh My Sorry:sorry: about you gain. You have great plan for TG week, please stick it it and you have great results. RHONDA-Its going to be interesting how much did the two plans change, but my leader from years ago told us that if the plan were on works don't:no: fix it by changing plans. SANDRA-Wish I was a gardener. HAVE NO GREEN THUMB ON EITHER HAND. We only have tomatoes plans that we put in 2 whiskey barrels and that the end of our gardening. I can't even keep house plants as I can kill a cactus. COCO -Hope you son was surprised when you put up the Christmas :tree:Tree.Going to put our up 1 week before depending if we go down to see our DGC[small table tree] or if the come up to see us.[small floor tree] Have a great day, will be back after my card game around 4ish. |
Hello All,
Well yesterday was tough but I made it. There was a little wine in the sauce for dinner, so DH opened a bottle and then had a glass with dinner, it was hard not to join in, but I did it. Usually after I abstain for a week or so I can have a glass with dinner and stop, but then I start to ramp up to not stopping at one....until I need to stop altogether again. Took the dog out for a walk yesterday, man was it cold, I am so not ready for this. We have some snow but not much, not enough to shovel yet (this year I think that will be my job alone since dh is not supposed to lift more than 5 lbs). Today I'm going to clean house and go to the gym. The house has gotten pretty scary over the last couple of months, usually I have people over once a month or so, so that I have to clean, but not this year, it's going to be a strange holiday season. MaryAnne - Congrats on your anniversary (sorry I forgot to mention it yesterday). Hope you had fun at Canasta I haven't played that in years don't know if I remember how. Sandra - If staying away from the scales helps you, then go for it. I personally need to be accountable to something or I just keep sliding. Have fun planting. Paula - Your plan sounds like a good one. I usually try to maintain over the holidays but this year would like to loose some. We'll see how it goes. Rhonda - Not to fond of shoveling myself. DH ordered a yooper scooper (snow scoop) a few years ago which helps some but it's still not a lot of fun. Hope the weight stays away until next week. Coco - How'd the tree come? I don't know when ours is going to go up. Maybe the week after thanksgiving. Although this weekend is supposed to be nice so I'm thinking we may get the lights out, although unlike our neighbors we don't turn them on until after Thanksgiving. Sammi - congrats on the no alcohol, drinking always slows down my progress too. A lot of people switch for only one week so two should be enough, although we'll see what the new program holds. Sloan, Traci, Vicki, Nancy and anyone else lurking - I'll definitely let you know what changes, although in the 20+ years I've been doing WW off and on I have seen many programs come and go....We'll see what this one is. And as for not changing the plan if it's working for you, on flex I still don't count carrots or onions, as one leader said "we're not here because we ate too many carrots!" Have a great day everyone. :dust: -Tech |
Hi there. It's cooler here today but still not bad for November. We leave in the AM for UT Austin. I'm excited.
Sorry this is short. I have to get off here now and go to town. |
 everyone...have fun, Sandra!

TGIF everyone -- it WILL be a good day at work, espeicially since I'm off work all next week :)
Food wise - I did great yesterday. I stuck to plan and use 0 wpas! The one thing I'm going to start doing is measuring things more (OK, I hate that part, but I think maybe part of my struggle is my portions are too big). I took my oatmeal for breakfast this morning. Rather than just pouring it in the container, I put in 1/2 cup. If I poured it I would have done closer to a full cup. But it was a good amount, I'm full and I still have my banana. Lets see how this goes. Tech - glad you made it through that challenge. Not having my wine is tough. I just need to NOT open a new bottle. Sandra - have fun! Got to get moving. Have a great day. |
Yes, TGIF!!!
I'm not even going to the office today; exercising a perk and working from home. |
Good Morning Ladies:)
Got up on the scale today and the reading are up 1 lb again. Have no idea:idea: why the up one, down one, & up one again motion I'm feeling like I'm riding waves in a ocean. What am I doing wrong??? I measure & weigh my foods I eat from a smaller sectioned plate I exercise every day[30M] Not going to change my tricker until my weight stabilizes. Just thought when posting to Donna the fried foods that we ate[fish & chips]that brought my weight up. Maybe just like Paula I'm not going to use WPA's next week except for TGD.and see if that will work. DONNA-Thanks for the wishes on the anniversary. I love playing canasta,my partner & I lost this time, and I had to fork up the dough[only$1] We don't know if the game will continue during the winter as on of the ladies is going down to Fla. SANDRA:wave:have a great time at Austin. PAULA-I think I going to follow you in staying away from the WPA's next week and see if what works for you might work for me. Thanks for the idea. RHONDA-Have a wonderful time working at home today. |
Well, I fell and bumped my head yesterday. Today is a new day tho. :D

Hey chickies! TGIF!!!!!!!! I'm really tired and have been fighting a cold for the past three days. Not sick enough to stay home, just feeling yukky. I'm still walking every morning before school, and I feel much better about myself. It sure helps to have a walking partner. My weight is maintaining which is my goal until after the holidays, so I'm happy.
Sandra-hope Austin is fun! Rhonda-I think it's great that you get to work from home occasionally. Hope your day goes well! Tech-just get an aspirin for the headache and climb back on! Maryann-Are you still going to WW meetings? If so, maybe you need to keep a food journal and see if your leader could give you some ideas about your roller coaster weight loss. Paula-a week off sounds good! I'm only working two days next week, so I'm not far behind you. Hope you have a great time with the family. Coco-has DS seen the tree yet? I'll bet he was surprised. My 18 year old son is the one at our house who is always excited to put up the tree. If it weren't for him, I probably would put up a small table tree and that would be it! Hope all you chickies have a great weekend! Stay warm :) |
My partner and I are starting weight watchers this weekend (our first meeting!) But we are having a hard time deciding between core and flex. Is it true that the core plan has no red meat on it? My partner HATES chicken and so if that is true, she'll have a huge problem with Core.
Thanks! |
Hi Ladies:)
I just went thought my food journal and I see where I added foods that on on the high calorie mark not including the anniversary dinner. Fixed my food journal for next week[starts tomorrow] to read no more than 23 pts[1150 cal]per day, eating core foods, but using points to calculate the calorie intake also. Than sandwich TG between 2 days of 21pts[1050 cal per day. Hope this will work. DONNA-Sorry:sorry: about your fall, hope you didn't hurt yourself servilely & you'll on the mend real soon. SLOAN-Sorry:sorry: you're not feeling well,I thought I was coming down with the flu this past week but it was a faults alarm. Now I have a slight sniffle. No I don't go to the meetings anymore,as my leader didn't know too much about the core plan and I don't think she could help me in that dept. When I was on the flex plan I gave her my pamphlet to see what I was doing wrong, and the only mistake was with the milk.I said soy lite was 1 pt. she said 2. Tomorrow I will log on my menu in the core menu thread. JEWELL-Welcome:welcome: to the core section of the ww board. You find it very motivating and supportive here.Where did you hear that. The Core plan has lean red meat, pork, veal & fish all on the protein list. You find the core list in your WW WK 1 booklet. Deciding which plan is up to you, I have been on both but I prefer the core HATE TO MEASURE & WEIGH FOODS.But right now with this rocking of one pound I will watch the points also. Hope that helps. |
:welcome2: Jewell. Maryann has answered the meat question. Hope you like Core and our chat posts.
Sloan, I've just noticed that you are only 5 pounds from your goal. That's wonderful. You'll be there in no time I bet. I hope you feel better soon. Donna, the prescription of an aspirin is a good one ;) You'll be better in the morning. I had a good day at home. I worked, but also helped DH a bit on the bathroom that we are renovating ourselves. I got an estimate of $6,000 to redo it, and we decided that we would just bring in Bathfitters and do the rest ourselves. So far, so good. I'm going to be happy with it. I made DH a peach pie and had a sliver of it myself. Oh, it was just too good. That is going to be a real temptation tomorrow! I'll be strong!!! Rhonda |
Good Morning Ladies:)
Today begins a new week for me and I decided to count pts while eating core foods. My pts that I'm allowing per day is 23[1150 cals] and than the day before and after TG I'm going lower to 21 pts[1050c]. I remember an old ww leader telling us that little trick to sandwich any holiday with lower points or that time exchanges. So thats what I think I will do to get that scale moving downward again and yo-yo like it has been doing. RHONDA-That a good idea:idea: about your bathroom. Materials & labor is so expensive and its going to get worse down the line.Wish Leo was handier than he is,but will lived in the house for 12 years and haven't don't any renovating so I guess I can live with out it in the future. You did great with the sliver of pie, just don't over due it over the weekend. sending you some :dust: just in case. Will come back later and see what you gals are up to. |
