Whoever came up with this thread is brilliant! I find that I go off plan when I get bored with what I eat... seeing how you guys eat, gives me new ideas on how I can shake things up. For example: I had no idea that Shredded Wheat Cereal was core... does it count as a grain? or can we eat it throughout the day?

You can eat it during the day, but as all dry cereals, you must eat it with milk.

i believe you are limited to eating it only once per day, and you must eat it with FF milk or FF plain yogurt

today i made this recipe for bourbon chicken, and it was really good! i used diet orange pop instead of the apple juice. i must be a picky eater, because i am usually disappointed with a lot of the recipes i try, but i thought this one was a keeper. my husband liked it, too!

B: shredded wheat and bran with splenda, cinnamon, and skim milk
L: brown rice with bourbon chicken (1 pt)
D: taco salad* (1pt)
snacks: popcorn, cocoa

*i remembered something i used to make a long time ago that was easily made into core....just mix up some chopped tomato (if you take out the seeds it works better), black olives (i just buy the sliced ones), red pepper, onion, and kidney beans (rinsed) into a bowl and mix it all up. you can eyeball the amounts and substitute other things you like. then, when you're ready to eat it, just add FF cheese (i prefer soy cheese myself), FF catalina dressing, and doritos (optional, but they add a nice crunch. i bought the baked ones and only used half a serving). it's really yummy! i guess you could probably add some lean ground beef, but i'm just not a huge meat eater and already had chicken today.

I love throw-together bean salad things like that. Sounds good, though unsure about the addition of Doritos

I have to buckle down and keep myself focused these next couple days if I want to lose anything this week (what a novel idea).

B: oatmeal w/splenda and cinnamon
S: banana
L: southwestern vegetable soup, homemade bread (2)
S: ff yogurt
D: pumpkin smoothie, bread with pb (4)

E: 30 min run

well, i am down another 1 lb this week. to meet my short term goal, i need to lose 3 more lbs in the next 2 weeks. it's feasible, but i'll probably need to kick up the exercise.

B: shredded wheat and bran with skim milk, splenda, cinnamon
L: brown rice and leftover bourbon chicken (1pt)
D: taco salad (1pt) and cream of wheat with lite butter (1 pt), splenda, and cinnamon

i tried this cabbage recipe i found either here or at *** (1 package shredded cabbage/coleslaw, 1 carton plain FF yogurt, 1 can crushed pineapple). yeah...not so much. i think i'll just keep making my taco salad.

E: advanced tae-bo (a really old one on VHS!)
